  1. Last weekend was the Meca California state finals....took first in s3 with 2 15" xcon's on a crescendo 3500d. Score was a 151.3@40hz, down .2 from last show but it was still good enough to take the 1st and the stae record I love these subs...get loud and sound awesome while doing it Thinking about upgrading next season to 2 15" zcon's on a crescendo 5500d Thanks SSA for the awesome subs

  3. Direct quote from DIYma: I just installed a 12" Icon in a sealed nder the backseat of my silverado. I have to say that SSA you guys did an amazing job with this one. One of the best drivers i've heard without a doubt. I'm running it off of a JL 500/1 and I absolutely love this thing. It's only been played for about 2 hours so it still needs some time to break in. The transient response and accuracy is amazing, much better than the W7 and comparable to the W6 but with more output and much better lows. In the sealed box i have now it reminds me of how low my Type X hit in it's ported box. It just eats the lows up no problem. It blends so well with everything even though i h…

I ordered around the 9 of september but talked to Aaron not to long ago about the wait time and he said the build house was finishing their move and that there was a bit of demand. I was in no rush and don't mind waiting a couple extra days. Anyways, here are the pictures. This thing is a monster. Not installed yet, but I'm impressed with it thus far. (trying to fix pictures now)

We need some updates on some scores using these bad ass SSA Subs. What kind of numbers are being put up using the Xcons now that they have been out awhile? How are they holding up? Numbers on 12s, 15s, 18s would be nice. Lets go SSA guys!

Hello. I have been looking at the Icon and it seems very impressive. I usually use SQ based sub woofers (alumapro, dayton, zapco, idq) and I have been looking for something with a little more powerful low end while retaining tonality and be under 7" inches deep. The icon looks like the best bang for buck. My favorite sub was an audiomobile mass 12 and Im trying to get a sub that had nice low end like that one to to me but I would like to try a new sub as well so I dont want a tc-9. The box is between 1 -1.2 cuft sealed and will be filled. I purchased a rockford t5001bd for this upgrade and it produces 725 watts at 2 ohms and 1014 at 1 ohm. I would prefer to keep 2 ohm l…

are the Icon series more spl setup? When are they coming back in stock? Which of the sundown amps would work better on a 15 the 1500 or 1000?

If you put 2 12's in the same box same power which would sound better? I know its going to be kinda biased but i am debating between these two subs.

4 12" XCON's or 2 15" XCON's? Box is going to be LxWxH = 21x41x24 and shoot for a 32hz tuning. Curretly running an AQ2200d, if i run the 4 12's i will get another. Have yellow top up front xp3000 at rear 230a alt. and big3 done.

Not sure if this is the right sub forum for this or not. Let me know if I need to move it. I'm in the South Jersey area, I've got a 08 Passat. I wanted to add maybe a 1 12" or 2 10" to the factory sound system to fill out the bottom end. I had a single 10 DCON in my previous car and loved it. I did all my other installs myself, but this time I'd like to have a more professional finish. I saw the SSA HQ is not far from me (about an hour and a half). Does the SSA HQ do installs / have a showroom that I could listen to the other subs they sell (sundown, IA, etc) to see how they all compare? If not, does SSA have any installers in this area they'd recommend?

Ok I think it was last sunday. I was delivering pizza, I had just been listening to music not loud while I was taken a delivery, I turned my car off and walked into the pizza shop for maybe 5 minutes tops. Came back out turned my car on and drove off. Still listening to music then i realized that the sub was not on. The amp was on so I just figured maybe a connection problem. Checked the terminals they were fine, I pushed the sub in to see if the coil was scratching and nothing. I then took it out the next day and no connection problems on the inside. I did a pop test and nothing. No signal at all. I checked the tinsels and they seem fine. I could only see them on the out…

My Xcon 15 came in today and its probably an understatement to say I'm excited. Just a little under a month now, and I get to throw this thing in and start jamming. And to think, before I started doing research and then found SSA, I was gonna get an Alpine Type-X 12 as the anchor of my "all Alpine system" . Everything was gonna match and to me, thats where it was at. Hell, if someone had asked me about 4 or 5 months ago about Sundown or SSA, I might have said "Aww hell naw don't get that no-name BS, get Alpine and JL". Lets just say I've evolved past that way of thinking and we'll leave it at that. Anyway, here are some pics: Now thats what I call one …

  14. so, i have 2 12" Kicker L7's that i got for a deal. i was going to pair them with a sundown 2500.1. @ 2ohms, they would each see 600rms. (they r 750 rms. so close enough). questions is, if i were to get a single 18" XCON and put it with a sundown 1500.1, so it would be getting 1500rms... would it be louder than the 2 L7's? i know there is no way of saying for sure. but assuming they are both in the optimal enclosures, which would be louder (in you guy's opinions) the Black Friday sale has me thinkin that i might wanna go this route. it/they will be going in my 1994 Toyota Camry wagon so plenty of space. rapid responses would be great as i would have to sell these, and d…

I hate internet shopping but I have approximately 750 watts RMS @ 1 ohm and would like to run a ported 10 in my 2012 WRX. I was just wondering how the GCON stacks up to the Fi Q in terms of Sound Quality? Keep in mind, I only have some listening time with the Fi Q, and IMHO, it is a bargain for the price. If the GCON is close enough, it may be a bargain to the bargain.

My girl has an ICON on 1k in 2.5 cubes tuned to 32hz, i'm meeting full excursion on the subwoofer with our listening habits. I'm looking to upgrade to an XCON so it can handle the abuse better and so we can have possible upgrade(s) in near future. What are the Pros and Cons of upgrading? How does the XCON handle 1k? Looking for short and sweet answers Thanks guys! Dom.

First off my slow ass car...i think im justified in not spending thousands to make it a tad faster. Went from..15" ssd copper coil at 2ohm on an alpine 1000wrms sealed To a larger box with 6" aeroport.. And yesterday came my sundown 1200D + SSA icon D2 running at 1ohm (curtousy of johnecon2001) :bigclap: Im still playing with the settings but man am i satisfied with this combo. Imo the sound quality between the SSD and the Icon are almost identical, but the output from the icon rocks my socks. It hits lows like nobodys business, which the SSD hit um, just not nearly as loud. And that sundown amp stays cool as an ice cube. My hats off to sundown and SSA for the…
