Would a 6" psp areo port be enough for a pair of Icon 12s? Had a idea and was just curious and needing a lil input, thanks.

How much port area would you reccomend for a 12" zcon in 3 cubes @ 30hz? Will be powered by a saz2500d.

As you can see in my sig, I am a pround owner of a 15" Icon sub!!! I am really happy with it, but I would like to play with the tuning frequencies of my box! I want to lower the tuning frequency of my enclosure. What should I do ? The box is about 4ft3 and the port is 14.10" (35cm) long and about 5.5" (14cm) of diameter. The actual port is just a PVC pipe. Should I replace it with a longer port(1" more), or is it better to have one port with a larger diameter to have more port area ? It is easier to have a longer port, but is it better for the sound, output, quality,... ??? Thanks you all

Hey, what would be an appropriate ported box and port length for 2 Dcon d4 12"s. I have ~ 1000 watts coming from a Rockford Fosgate 1051s. I did see the boxes listed in the tech section. I just wanted to make sure I read it correctly.

what is the optimal tuning frequency for the icons? where do they perform best? i know the range is 27-33hz but where in that range would it be best to tune them at.

So yesterday i installed my new 10" Icon with a 125.2 Sundown. And install went fine, little trouble with the Line Out Convertor, but we worked through it. After it was all installed and setup good we started messing with tuning, and man this setup was POUNDING away on my BMW!! I mean for a 10 and the 125 to be hitting this hard was amazing. Cutting the story short i was driving home and had the music going nothing outrageous just listing to the radio. I get up this morning to do some final touches and noticed that my license plate had rattled off on my way home!!! I thought it was hilarious!!! Well that is my little plug/review of my new SSA/Sundown system!! Thanks.

So I recently posted this thread about the continuous power of the ZED Leviathan amp powering the Image Dynamic CTX65CS comps. I'm on a roll ... - SSA Car Audio Forum I am satisfied to know that the ID comps will run fine with the ZED amps RMS power. I however didn't think about the power handling capability of the SSA DCON 12S4. That sub is rated at 300w RMS and the ZED amp puts out 600w continuous power bridged. Sooo ... will the DCON 12S4 sub be OK with the 600w continuous power that the ZED amp will be feeding it? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this BUT I just want to make sure. Headroom right?! I was simply wanting to know if i'd be safe using 2 mm4000.1 on 8 10" icons, provided I do have very decent electrical in my opinion... I was wanting to know if the 10s could do the 1000ish per sub. They look awesomely built and have caught my attention for some time, but money has been going to other things recently as I clear out what I have left in my current system of dd/sundown. I'm planning on ordering two 15" Icons in the next few days and I was just wondering what you guys think I should power them with? Would one SAZ-1500D be underpowering them? It'll be a ported box... Thanks!

i want to make a ported box for my xcon 10 and i was thinking about modifying the predesigned enclosure to make it fit for my car. I'm just curious why the boxes are the same for the xcon and icon 10's. the recommended specs are different for the 2 woofers but i can't find a difference between the pre designed enclosures. should i be using the recommended specs as a guide or the predesigned enclosures as a guide. just a bit confusing.

i need to speak with an associate with SSA. i installed my XCONs yesterday and there is a problem with the ohms being too low. i bought 2 dual 1 ohms and its reading .02 on the multi meter. as soon as i put music to them the amp went into protection mode. does anyone have a number to call so i can resolve this quickly. i dont have much patience to wait for emails back and forth. i just wont to send them back so they can correct my problem. thank you

A week ago I posted in the speaker forum about 1 of my xcons getting hot while the other stayed cool and I figured out what happened with the wires getting mixed up but then today when I fixed the speaker wires the speaker would not work at all. When I push the sub in it is not locked or make any screaching noise. The leads seem to be fine. There looks like there might be a slight tear in the spider. Would a recone fix this or would it need to be sent out? Also how much does 1 cost for 15"xcon If there is anything else anyone can suggest for me to look at the sub or to try it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I ordered 3 SSA dcon 12's that should be here soon. I am putting the subs in a t-line box and I am wondering if there is a particular break in for the subs. With all of my other subs, I have just kept the volume low for about a week and then crank it up. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

I finally hooked everything up in my suburban and it sounds even better than I thought it would. I have a 18" Xcon tuned to 35 hz. I have it hooked up to a JBL 1200.1 II and it is plenty of power for me. As far as music reproduction the Xcon is the best I have ever heard. I've played every type of music and it sounds ridiculously good on everything. When i turn up it literally feels like its hitting you in the chest. Its starts getting hard to breath on certain songs. lol. Props go out to SSA for making a Top knotch woofer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok so i ordered a DCON 12 single vc 4ohms about a month ago and it was the same as pictured on the website so i ordered another last friday and got it in like an hour ago and when i opened the box it only says SSA while the one i bought a month ago say SSA DCON on the dust cap. So my question is did i get the wrong speaker or did i get stuck with an older/newer model? i really like the one that say dcon on it. but i jus want to make sure that i got a recent model. thanks in advance for your answers!!!

I have an Icon 15 in 3.5 cubes tuned to 34hz. It is being powered by a JBL GTO 1201.II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2ohms. When I turn it up I get a smell that almost smells like paint. The gain is set a lil past half way. I notice some people on the forum are powering pairs of the 15s with like 1500 watts from a Kicker amp. Am I setting the gain too high? What could that smell be? Should I turn down the gain on my amp and turn up the sub setting on my deck? The deck I have is the Alpine CDA-9886.

This could be a stupid question but I'm just wondering. The XCON package with the Saz-1500d. The Saz-1500d is the v.1 right? I know the v.2s dont come out until late december but I'm wondering so i can buy the Saz separate or just buy the package. Thanks for the input.

Hi is there a difference in the icons that had the blue dustcap writing, or are they the same specs? Also how does 2 12" icons vs 2 12" Fi ssds flatwind bp, match up? 4cf 33hz box with 2500rms. Any input would be appreciated.

I am thinking about getting an Icon 15 but I have some questions. I currently have a Diamond D3 15 and an AQ1200D. I will be using this amp which I know should be fine but I would like to use my existing box. The box I have is from audio enhancers and its 4cubes tuned to around 32hz I believe. It is the model designed for Diamonds though and would like to know if it will work. This will be going in my 03 Blazer.

hey there guys, so finally i decided going with my sub, ssa zcon 15'.. i just had question.. which one shuld i go with ?? the D1 or D2??? i will be running the sub with a sundown SAZ-2500d and i want the sub to powered what it requires?? so before i go ahead and order the Zcon, i just wanted to make sure which one. thanks!!

So I just recieved my 2 new Dcon 10's today and upon installing them, I noticed a strange noise that I could best describe as a rattling(as if someone was holding their finger slightly against the sub). I can't seem to isolate which sub it is coming from but when I take a sub out, the rattling stops, same when I take the other out, yet when I turn one around and reverse phase, it starts back up.... I seems to start as soon as any back pressure is applied to the sub. The subs haven't broken in but the volume is low when this is occuring. I'm kinda freakin out since I already had to wait a month before the subs even came and now I'm at a loss and could use some help. Sorry …
