Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)

I tried using the SSA gallery, but had a few issues, so photobucket links. I'll be building a few boxes soon, at least one sealed and a couple test ported boxes for my 96 Volvo 850 GLT (trunk). This 12" xcon d2 will be replacing my current Infinity Kappa Perfect 12vq's, and powered off a Sundown SAZ-1500d. I have a 50ft spool of 1/0 welding wire in my room, a sax100.4 on the way from db-r, and will be ordering the mli65's from the ssa store along with a battery or two. i have pair of dcon 10's. I want to make an enclosure for them and its recommended 1-1.25 cubes 28-33 hurts. what does the smaller size do? Would that mean more power handling? More punchyness? I have a us amps merlin md1 for power and plenty of juice for supply. also what does the tuning frequency effect. i listen to a broad array of music slipknot and mudvayne lamb of god to eletronic and rap. i know there is no perfict setup for all but what would you recommend? I have a 2005 civic sedan if that helps. thanks

Which would be louder and sound better ultimately? 8 icon 15s or 4 XCON 18s? I know the 15s have more cone area, but the 18S are more efficient, handle more power, and have more excursion. Would run 4 15s off of a 3500d or 2 of the 18s off the same amp.

Hello. I know this probably an annoying question, but if some one could give me an honest opinion I would really appreciate it. I have a 2007 Tahoe with 2 12w6v2's. They are in a ported box at the manufactures specs of 1.5 cubic ft per driver. It definitely sounds good. I am real happy with the box design and how the whole system intergrates into my vehicle. I have a Sundown 2000d on the way. I realize this is too much power but I wanted to have room for upgrades. I was looking at the specs on the 10 Icon and it looks like it would be a good match for this setup. So, a friend of mine is looking for some good bass in his car. He has tried many things, and I don't think he is looking in the right place. He currently has 2 12 Kenwood KFCs in a sealed box, but has also had pioneer 10s, (the gray ones from wal-mart), and visonik 10s and 12s. The problem with the Kenwoods is that they don't hit the lows he is looking for. I was hoping to help him sell the Kenwoods and was thinking of steering him towards the DCONS, (budgeted install... budget is probably what he can get for the kenwoods and 1 10inch pioneer and his amp, a sony 220 gtx). I think Im going to go with an XCON if the depth isnt too bad, anyone know what it is on a 12"? And would you all go with a XCON over a fully loaded Fi BL, give honest opinons

I have a 1200d coming and I need just 1 12, which will be going under the back seat of my silverado crew cab. So depth is limited to 7" max Thats figuring in the MDF and leaving another .5" from bottom of driver to the board. Im hoping I can go ported but if not then itll be sealed. Do you guys recommend going with the ICON or the BL with all upgrades The 1200d is supposed to do almost 1500w rms at 1ohm so Id like to take advantage of all that power

my question is i am going to be ordering the saz-2000 would u guys reccomend 2 15 icon or 2 15 xcons on this amount of power.Its going into a 2008 chrysler 300 thanks anything would help...

Hello, could anyone tell me the diameter and height of the Icon's (12'') magnets, please? THX from Germany

This topic is just out of curiousity. Which of these would be louder? They should take up almost the same amount of space as eachother. The 4 dcon 10s would be in 1.25 cu.ft each tuned to 33hz and the xcon 15 would be in 4.5 cubes tuned to 33hz. I'm just thinking about setups I'd like to get in the future when I get a Rav4 or a Highlander.

I'm buying either 2 12" xcons or 2 15" xcons depends on what thumper comes up with and recommends for my truck x-cab s-10. I see in the ssa store that I can buy a combo of each sub with a sun down 1500 but I would like to only run one amp for the subs. Would the 3500 be ok or should I go bigger or should I go ahead and buy 2 1500. P.S. I'm comming to the dark side from running 2 JL 12W6 and 2 Phoenix Gold Ti 600.2 amps. IT'S LOUD BUT I WANT MORE

Hi all, I've just received a 15" Xcon today! It's for a friend of mine. We will build a big ported box, with a design we got from Fishercustoms. This will go in a (very) small french car with about 1300 watts rms on it. I will take some pictures to post here. But, wow, what a big and Heavy driver!!! I will be able to tell you all what I think about this beast!! I have a 15" Icon on a saz 1000, so, I already know what is a good sounding sub!!!!!!

Thinkin about pre ordering the new sundown sae 1200 and doing a single 12 sub i know icon are rated at 1000wts and xcon at 1750. jacob has stated these new amps are pushing 1500, should i go icon and turn down gains or go xcon

So I'm going to running the new XCON 15' D2 Subwoofer in a custom spare tire enclousure and I'm torn on SEALED OR PORTED@35hz? The car's goal is daily driver "&quot;SQL&quot;". SUNDOWN SAZ-1500D is the amp with MORE than enough upgraded electrical to support it.

will the xcon handle 3000rms?? i know it says 1750 rms but i see alot of people over powering it? and can u get any upgrades on this sub >??

We need some updates on some scores using these bad ass SSA Subs. What kind of numbers are being put up using the Xcons now that they have been out awhile? How are they holding up? Numbers on 12s, 15s, 18s would be nice. Lets go SSA guys!

well my sub is out for delivery.... i have my box built... so i am sitting here thinking if there is anything i need so when i get off work i can mount it in the box and go hook it up...... then i started to think... i know how to wire it to a 1 ohm load.... but.. with my alpine type R it had jumper cables to go from one voice coil to the other... then just one speaker wire to the amp... so i only ran one wire out of the box just thinking that is how my Xcon would be... so.... i gues what i am wondering is this how you wire the Xcon ? or do you run speaker wires from each voice coil to the amp ? i guess i could wait and find out... but i would like to have it …
