So, I installed my new dcon 10 in a box that was built by a local audio shop 1.25 cu ft with a slot port that is supposedly tuned to 32.5 hz. I have this enclosure rear firing in my 2010 fusion with 300 watts crossed over at 80 hz. The main thing I have noticed is that the bass is very loud around 40-45 hz with not much in the 60-80 hz range. I'm wondering if this is just due to in car cabin gain and something I am going to have to eq out or if its possible that the box is tuned wrong? Would going with a lower tune, like 29 or 30 hz help with smoothing the upper frequencies? Just trying to get the best bass I can out of the system.

I finally installed my icon 15 in my truck. I had tried it in a friends box but today i put it in the console box I built. It bis 3.75 cubes tuned to 32 hz. I LOVE IT!!! It flexes my roof and all four windows and still sounds very clean. Just wanted to thank everyone for talking me into getting it instead of the kicker L7. Also thanks to SSA for making an incredible sub.

okay i am a newb so lets keep any comments about me being a dumbass to a minimum. i have a 1991 mercedes benz s-class its a large car. i only have room for either 2 12"s or a 15". Any recommendations on what i should get. i can spend roughly 1000 for the sub/amp combination. i like the 15" SSA xCon or maybe 2 kicker l7 12's. i did like the Fi 15" Q but i read some reviews where people had durability issues. I am open minded to anything. Sound quality is somewhat important as i hate my friends 15" power accoustick P3. it is horrible. thanks David

Hi SSA, Currently in the market for a 15" sub that works best in sealed, airspace is 2.0 to 2.5 cf^3. Power for use is 750W on low-end to 1800W on high-end. Music preference is a mix of r&b, rock and some rap when the mood strikes. This will be in a crew cab truck, orginally I was looking at a quad setup for 8's or a single 12 but decided to look at going with the biggest driver I can fit. Feedback from users of the ICON and XCON would be great. Thanks in advance for your time and assistance. MW

SSA Dcon line up price drop! Since we know these are excellent drivers that are very capable of surprising people and are one of the best offerings in the 300 watt ratted "SQ" minded sub woofers on the market. There are not that many are out there, (even after extremely positive reviews, and a give-away), so we are officially lowering the price to make them a little more affordable. SSA Dcon 10D4/S4 now $115 !! SSA Dcon 12D4/S4 now $125 !!

Currently I'm running a 10" Icon in a 1.5 cube box at 32hz with 1000-1200rms. Is there much of a difference if I used a smaller box such as 1-1.35 cubes with the same tuning?

my first post.. lol I know, but what better place to ask about icon's than the main " icon " thread area right? I was simply wanting to know if i'd be safe using 2 mm4000.1 on 8 10" icons, provided I do have very decent electrical in my opinion... I was wanting to know if the 10s could do the 1000ish per sub. They look awesomely built and have caught my attention for some time, but money has been going to other things recently as I clear out what I have left in my current system of dd/sundown. I'll probably get told to just look at their specs etc, but woofers are underrated all the time, so who's to say I can't ask lol. Any help appreciated and thank you in advance. Be …

Finnaly pulled the trigger and ordered a mighty XCON!! I love what you guys are doing and I can't freakin wait to get my Xcon!! The sense of community is really one of the many things I really like most about you guys and I love supporting the smaller business. (Especially when they have the capability to kick the arse of most of those mainstream companies!) Been out of the game for a while and it really wasn't like this last time I had a system. I was so close to getting JL its not even funny. Thats before I stumbled onto the SSA forums and the rest as they say is history. I've learned a lot from you guys on all of the different SSA froums and I truly appreciate it!!…

So I recently posted this thread about the continuous power of the ZED Leviathan amp powering the Image Dynamic CTX65CS comps. I'm on a roll ... - SSA Car Audio Forum I am satisfied to know that the ID comps will run fine with the ZED amps RMS power. I however didn't think about the power handling capability of the SSA DCON 12S4. That sub is rated at 300w RMS and the ZED amp puts out 600w continuous power bridged. Sooo ... will the DCON 12S4 sub be OK with the 600w continuous power that the ZED amp will be feeding it? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this BUT I just want to make sure. Headroom right?! THANKS!

Does anyone know the exact mounting hole diameter for the XCON 12? Not the individual hole size. But the entire mounting circle.

While I'm awaiting shipment of the beast I'm working out the design for its future home. It will be going in a center console of a single cab Silverado. At this point it looks as though I can squeeze in 3 cubic ft after all displacements. I'll be running it off a SAZ-2500. I'm wondering what i should tune it to. The suggested range is 29-34. My port area figured up right now will be 40.25in^2. (11.5x3.5).

So its time to finally do this review. First things first Mark and Aaron are great guys who run an honest business and sell amazing products. As of now they have been in my car play music for a year and half. They are still in perfect working order and the spiders and surround remain firm. Coil has no signs of wear and there is no mechanical noise what so ever. These play music for me daily and i mean every day and they get a good bit of abuse on the weekends ejecting people from my car. I can honestly go to say they can play anything and everything with extreme precision and authority. I cant speak enough good things about them nor can anyone who gets to hear them. I hav…
