Will be running it off a DLS A7 Sub channel at 2 ohm getting 440-500 watts. Can the 10 handle this in a 1.2cube ported box?

I was looking at DCON box plans on the SSA technical section. They list the optimal single DCON 12 ported at 2.25 cu ft with 32.5 sq in of port. Then the dual DCON optimal is listed at 3.28 cu ft with 45 sq in of port. I was looking at running three DCON 12's sealed in the trunk of my Eldorado with the optimal 1.25 net per sub to save space. Well after looking at the optimal ported box for 2 12's I'm wondering what the optimal for 3 12's ported would be. My max box width is 38", max height 15" and depth up to 24". I'm thinking I'll run the 12's side by side with a slot port on the top of the box 2" tall and 36.5" wide firing towards the back of the car. With a net box siz…

I just purchased an SSA DCON 12S4, and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. It will be driven with an Orion XTR 375.2, getting about 400 watts RMS. Components will be Dayton Audio RS180's driven by an Arc Audio FD2100, and Morel MDT-12's driven off of an Audio Art 70.2. The source unit is a Pioneer DEH-P880PRS. The sub will be installed in a 2002 Ford F250 Crew Cab. I do not want the enclosure sitting up on the seat, so I will be building a custom L shaped box that will sit right behind the center console up onto the middle of the rear seat, with the sub firing up, as well as the vent. Basically I listen to all kinds of music. Hip Hop, Rock, Reggae, Country, Oldies, J…

SSA Dcon line up price drop! Since we know these are excellent drivers that are very capable of surprising people and are one of the best offerings in the 300 watt ratted "SQ" minded sub woofers on the market. There are not that many are out there, (even after extremely positive reviews, and a give-away), so we are officially lowering the price to make them a little more affordable. SSA Dcon 10D4/S4 now $115 !! SSA Dcon 12D4/S4 now $125 !!

I recently picked up a used 12" SSA DCON and finally was able to find time to install it this last week. In this installation, I am running: Subwoofer: 12" SSA DCON single 4 ohm Enclosure: 2.00ft^3 tuned to 31Hz with a 4" aero port Amplifier: MB Quart DSC1500.1D at 4 ohms (375rms) I initially had low expectations, as this was my first single 12" installation. In addition, I have never used a low-power "entry class" subwoofer. After listening to this little guy for the last week, I must say that I am VERY impressed with its output and sound quality. I did a direct swap between a 15" Fi SSD and this 12" SSA DCON. The Fi SSD obviously gets louder, but the 12" SSA DCON is de…

As of now, the 10" and 12" versions of the brand new SSA Dcon are ready to ship! The 8" model will follow soon, and we will give an ETA when we know for sure it is ready. The Dcon, as we mentioned before, is our mid-power, sound quality biased driver. Very clean and accurate in sealed, and really thrives in smaller ported boxes. 300 watts is plenty in either box alignment. For the most part, a scaled back Icon. All stats and specs can be found >> on the SSA Dcon website. SSA Dcon 10D4 SSA Dcon 12D4 We will have updated pictures of the Dcon, just like the Icon when we have a chance to professionally shoot them.

A brief introduction to the all new SSA Demon, but first a farewell to its predecessor. Our very long running SSA Dcon has ridden off into the sunset, or at least taking a breather. The SSA Dcon was our second subwoofer model we ever launched. At the very beginning, we had the Icon and as it gained traction we saw there was a need for a pure SQ sub of more modest power rating than that the Icon. So in early 2008, the first SSA Dcon was launched. (The Xcon followed shortly after). That being said, the Dcon was almost an immediate hit, with a long 2" copper coil (rarity to have one made in the USA) triple stack motor, rear vent. The Dcon was very affordabl…

Some good time back a topic was started that had a few really good background images posted up but nothing else was ever really added. Is there a possibility of starting another one and getting some new up to date images posted up and perhaps some for mobile devices as well?? I do love the image of the ZCONs I've been using for awhile but it would be great to have some nice new ones to shuffle through, especially on my phone.

A few years late, but we are finally getting a very nice tweeter going that is worthy of being a part of the SSA line. The pictures below show the prototypes, they are really attractive in person and will, in production form, bare the SSA logo. See the attached files for the 4 and 8 ohm versions. They are quite smooth to my ear (aka not super bright like some metal dome tweets can be) and blend well with the Evil6.5's (vital to the design). These are not a PA style, 'screamy' tweet, these are meant for sound quality first and foremost. Possible future home audio plans. Pricing is not set just yet. These will be sold as a pair. Some quick points of info:…

After a few years of collaborative effort, passive crossovers are here for the Evil component system. Thank you Aaron, Julian, Vladd, Parker and Sean. This was definitely a team effort. When Aaron approached me with this idea a few years ago I was excited to design a set of passive crossovers that were based on performance first and not price or size. These really do sound great, I am proud of the design and the rest of the team knocked out a great PC board and enclosure. I don't think you can find anything better at this price point. Also, as SSA is a staunch supporter of DIY, standby for more resources to build these yourselves... SSA Evil Passive Cr…

Hey Guys, Just wanted to give an update to how my system has been progressing over this past year, particularly with my subwoofer. I've taken some pictures so you guys can take a look at it for yourself. So let me go ahead and state there is no bashing here towards SSA or F.i. has a build house, this is just what I've experienced. But first, let me go ahead and explain my driving habbits. I take a lot of road trips. Anywhere from 3-6 a year. Which most average around the 7 hour mark. Also, I do a lot of driving around as well. Prior to my new job that started in just this past October, I had a 40 mile round trip to work. Outside of that, I also go driving around downt…
