I was just wondering I have 4 gcon 12s in a blow thru in my Nissan hardbody reg cab I love then I had them on a earthquake 5k and did a 148.9 at 30 hz I was thinking about cutting out the rest of the cab and getting 4 more gcons 12s or should I step up in model I realy like the gcons

Hello everyone! I had an Icon 15 in a ported enclosure in my old ride and loved it. I would have loved to have had it in it's optimum sized ported box to see what it could really do, but the 3.75 cubes tuned to 34hz sounded kick ass anyway and got nice and loud. I had it powered by a 1200 watt JBL amp. The car I have now unfortunately can't fit the the Icon 15 enclosure height wise. I was wondering if an Xcon 12 in it's optimum sized ported enclosure tuned to 33 - 34hz powered by a SAZ-1500D V.2 could get as loud as my previous Icon 15 due to more motor strength?

Hey everyone, I have changed my mind many times about my build that I will be doing in the future. I think I have finally decided for sure on what sub and amp I am going to run. My choice being a single 12" Xcon in a enclosure that seals off the trunk with the sub firing into the cabin. It will be powered by the new Megalith Zed Monoblock. My question is... Should I worry about much reinforcement in my enclosure with only a single 12" thats a lot of power compared to most retail subs that I have worked with in the past. Also, I want to run a ported enclosure, what would the optimal tuning be for electronica music? 32hz? 34hz maybe? Also if I'm running this Should…

Just wondering what you other guys with x-cons are metering. Im getting a 148 at the headrest and a flat 150 on the windshield. Im really wanting more now but im not sure what to do. any suggestions?

So I just had my xcon delivered. I know coils aren't always perfectly spot on and impedence changes , but both of my coils are reading 1.5 ohms. It's a dual 1. Is this normal?

Is the ICON 18" featuring the new USA made basket? It looks different than the smaller models.

I just gotta tell you guys that after i think 8 months of owning this i FINALLY got it in my truck. I had never heard of you before this sub and let me just say that you definitely exceeded my expectations! This thing hits and HARD. I know exactly where Ill be going next time I need a sub!

What series SSA sub would suit me best? I was looking @ FI BLs or Qs but lost instress because the guys on the Fi forum are to Baised. All i asked for is a sub that could get loud and sound good. They say you can't have Both. WTF! the reply is BLs get loud but lack lowend and SQ the Qs sound great has lowend but lack output. Please! Please help me decide , i don't want to Compromise SQ over Output. For the record i have power to spare and space to work with and i'm lookin @ 18s btw. All i hear is Get BLs NO get the Qs what type of music, what amp, what vehicle, ported or sealed. yada yada yada.

I tried using the SSA gallery, but had a few issues, so photobucket links. I'll be building a few boxes soon, at least one sealed and a couple test ported boxes for my 96 Volvo 850 GLT (trunk). This 12" xcon d2 will be replacing my current Infinity Kappa Perfect 12vq's, and powered off a Sundown SAZ-1500d. I have a 50ft spool of 1/0 welding wire in my room, a sax100.4 on the way from db-r, and will be ordering the mli65's from the ssa store along with a battery or two. So I am piecing together parts for my new sound system in my new VW CC. I decided to go with the SSA DCON 12". Before I purchase, I'm not sure weather to get the 12D4 or the 12S4. I know the difference and the advantages (I think). The amp I am using is a 5 channel Kenwood amp. According to the specs in the owners manual it puts out 350w RMS equally in 4ohm and 2 ohm in the sub channel. I understand that if the amp was to put out more power with a 2ohm load then I should def get the 12D4 so I could wire it in parallel and get a 2ohm load and draw more power from the amp. Lookin for a low powered, low budget setup for HT usage. So, i came and looked at the Dcons, they look like what i want. I was thinkin about gettin a couple of these Dcon 12s and runnin a small powered amp to them tuned around 17hz. 9cuft NET was the ideal range i was thinking. You got any recommendations on if I should go larger if i can or what? What would you think about port area? Even though I will be using less than 500w for a pair, the xtreme low tuning may still require large port area? Yes\no? I can use up to 100sqin if necessary but that sounds too large, in my opinion.

I have a couple of ?'s as I am new to ssa audio ..i have a 92 camaro and will be building a sealed box as i have always been more of a SQ guy ..1. does the icon preform well in a sealed box ...2. what are the ideal cubes for a sealed box ..im open for input so any good woofers that preform well in sealed box's feel free to throw your 2 cents in ..thanks guys ill put up some pics when i iron out all the loose ends should be fun with all of your help

I have a 2.7 cu.ft sealed box and I looking to buy a Alpine m500 mono amp(500w rms). Good choice for a 15" DCON, or too much power and little or too much box volume? No ported cause I don't have enough space.

well my sub is out for delivery.... i have my box built... so i am sitting here thinking if there is anything i need so when i get off work i can mount it in the box and go hook it up...... then i started to think... i know how to wire it to a 1 ohm load.... but.. with my alpine type R it had jumper cables to go from one voice coil to the other... then just one speaker wire to the amp... so i only ran one wire out of the box just thinking that is how my Xcon would be... so.... i gues what i am wondering is this how you wire the Xcon ? or do you run speaker wires from each voice coil to the amp ? i guess i could wait and find out... but i would like to have it …

Hey people I am going to be getting 2 DCON 10's for under the back seat of my pickup, and I know that the optimum recommended ported box is 1.25 @ 33hz after displacement, so my question is, since this will be in a pick up under the back seat, with the subs forward firing and the ports are going to be on the sides of the box firing into the doors, what type of port should I use, aero ports or slot ports. Also if I should go with aeros, what size and what length, and if I should go with slot ports, what dimensions, also I say a guy on here that put his DCON 10 in a 1.3 cu. ft. box @ 33 hz, what advantages and disadvantages will I see by going with this size over the 1.25 r…
