any requests for these? Do the icons in general compare to the Fi Q series?

I feel really dumb asking this, but are the prices on the Dcon what they always are? I can't remember from when I bought my first Dcon, but they seem to be lower than I remember. If that's the case, then I know what I'll be getting for my birthday (a 12" this time).

what enclosure size do you suggest for a icon 12 sealed off 1000 watts? i think i am going to go with 1.2 but do i add polyfill or no?

Some good time back a topic was started that had a few really good background images posted up but nothing else was ever really added. Is there a possibility of starting another one and getting some new up to date images posted up and perhaps some for mobile devices as well?? I do love the image of the ZCONs I've been using for awhile but it would be great to have some nice new ones to shuffle through, especially on my phone.

Im new to this site as you can probably tell and was interested in getting a pair of 12" icons. Im not a very crafty person so I was wanting to put these subs in a sealed box. My question is how do they sound sealed off about 1500 watts of power.

Hey guys would 1.2 cu ft sealed be alright to run this 12" xcon sub with 1540 watts rms?

I have my amplifier's gain set around 2500wrms. My commute to work is 50 minutes one way. I have been pounding on my XCON now for about a month (atleast a full hour a day) with well over rated wrms. So far it sounds clean, no mechanical noise or distortion that I can hear. The cone does get warm but no stinky. No coil rub at all. I need a recone due to a cosmetic flaw on my part. I accidently got expanding foam on the cone which has not affected anything but looks. So I figured on would pound on the sub and see what happens. So far the sub works flawlessly. 3" aluminum coil ftw. Good job to SSA. There is no doubt in my mind that this sub will function beautifully for yea…

I just got a few? on the 18 Xcons, 1 whats the optimum box for 2 18 and how many sqin of port. 2 can they be reconed if needed. Powered by a sundown 3500 thankz

I recently picked up a used 12" SSA DCON and finally was able to find time to install it this last week. In this installation, I am running: Subwoofer: 12" SSA DCON single 4 ohm Enclosure: 2.00ft^3 tuned to 31Hz with a 4" aero port Amplifier: MB Quart DSC1500.1D at 4 ohms (375rms) I initially had low expectations, as this was my first single 12" installation. In addition, I have never used a low-power "entry class" subwoofer. After listening to this little guy for the last week, I must say that I am VERY impressed with its output and sound quality. 2 10" SSA Icon's I want ported, firing back in a trunk setup. Newer model Chevrolet Impala, so I have a lot of room to play with (in terms of the 18 3/8's width given, I can go more). Should I stick with the pre-designed enclosure numbers or do something different, because I have the space? 1k to each subwoofer. So I am piecing together parts for my new sound system in my new VW CC. I decided to go with the SSA DCON 12". Before I purchase, I'm not sure weather to get the 12D4 or the 12S4. I know the difference and the advantages (I think). The amp I am using is a 5 channel Kenwood amp. According to the specs in the owners manual it puts out 350w RMS equally in 4ohm and 2 ohm in the sub channel. I understand that if the amp was to put out more power with a 2ohm load then I should def get the 12D4 so I could wire it in parallel and get a 2ohm load and draw more power from the amp. This amp as mentioned earlier however puts out the same amount of power. This means that I don't nee…

I know I saw a thread about this a while back, but can't seem to find it. I think I remember reading about a 8" DCON prototype. Whatever happened to this? Was it a flop or was there just not the market for it? I know I'd jump all over a pair if they became available.

Hey what's going on? So I'm in a dilemma with myself on what to do. I've decided that I want to get the D-Cons for myself. The problem is that I don't know if I should go with 2-10s or 1-12. I plan to get the JL HD600/4 so I would have 300 watts to use on the subs. Just not sure if 300watts would be good for the two subs. I mainly listen to Hip-Hop, R&B, Dancehall Reggae so I'm not even 100% sure the D-cons are the right sub for me at all. I am trying to set-up a clean sounding SQ system, but would like the bump when wanted. Can anyone give me a little bit more insight of what to do? Thanks.

this thread is just to gauge the interest you guys would have in this. I got permission from, in fact, welcomed open arms from MTX on a SSA tour. I would really love to see this as it is a very fun place to visit. IT is the Phoenix campus where they make and distribute alot of their high end amps and much much more. If you are in the AZ or surrounding area's, and would like to be a part of this, please post up a general date range when this would be possible and lets see if we can all come to an agreement on a date. Would be a fun time for sure! Me: I'm set for when ever is good for the masses!

Currently running JL 12w3's in a ported box @30hz with 900 watt rms. They get low and don't sound bad at all. But not real loud. Not looking to up my power, and am very curious to try a different brand. Thinking of the dcon 15's. But it will be easier to stick with 12's. So my question is will the dcon 12's give more output than my w3's on 900 watt rms in a 4 cu ft box at 30hz. Or should I just save for the 15's and a new box?? Hoping someone here had experience with the w3's and the dcon's and can chime in.
