Hello everybody, I made up my mind : I really want to buy the 15" SSA Icon sub. I receive a few messages of AAron, but I am still waiting with my money burning my pockets :bigclap: I cannot order from the website because of the shipping info needed. What a pitty I know it will take a long time to be shipped over here in the Carribeans, but I want it, and that's it !!! I already know what kinf of enclosure I will build : a simple 3 cu feet sealed enclosure. I would like to try it ported, but it needs more room, and I don't want to go over 3 cu ft. If you have somme advices, I take everything! Don't worry! -

This review is a result of the SSA Dcon Give Away here on DIYMA. So, first I would like to thank Aaron & Mark of SSA for participating in the give-away and providing 2 free drivers to members of the community. Specifications for the driver can be found HERE. The cost for the driver once added to the cart in the shopping section of the SSA website is $165 plus shipping. As you can see from the below picture, the driver is single boxed with 4 foam pads glued to the sides of the box at the mounting ring and (not visible) foam padding underneath the motor structure with an inner cardboard "box" that surrounds the motor structure. The driver did shift slightly during s… -

Whats the difference between these three subs and how do they compare against each other? Which one gets the loudest, best sq, & can handle the most power? Lets say there's 2 15s in the max recommended ported box on a Sundown 1500 for comparison. -

I was wondering if i could get my icon reconed to an 18. I know you don't have them on your shop or site but i was wondering if you could do a custom one. If not how much would it be to get it reconed to a 15? It is a 10" d2. -

I know the icon is not a spl sub, but I was wondering if anyone has had a ssa icon 12 (or other size) in a ported box metered? Just kind of curious as to what kind of decibels my icon can put out. -

First off my slow ass car...i think im justified in not spending thousands to make it a tad faster. Went from..15" ssd copper coil at 2ohm on an alpine 1000wrms sealed To a larger box with 6" aeroport.. And yesterday came my sundown 1200D + SSA icon D2 running at 1ohm (curtousy of johnecon2001) :bigclap: Im still playing with the settings but man am i satisfied with this combo. Imo the sound quality between the SSD and the Icon are almost identical, but the output from the icon rocks my socks. It hits lows like nobodys business, which the SSD hit um, just not nearly as loud. And that sundown amp stays cool as an ice cube. My hats off to sundown and SSA for the… -

Hi is there a difference in the icons that had the blue dustcap writing, or are they the same specs? Also how does 2 12" icons vs 2 12" Fi ssds flatwind bp, match up? 4cf 33hz box with 2500rms. Any input would be appreciated. -

Well i have been looking for some great subs for a while now and i think i have found them. I listen to a lot of rock and metal (avendged sevenfold, as i lay dying, bullet for my valentine) which has double bass in it. And i was wondering if perhaps the size of the driver would make the double bass or just bass petal kick in general sound better or worse? Also since i am lookin for the tight crisp bass i believe it would be best to go with a sealed box? Any input is greatly apreciated. -

As of now, the 10" and 12" versions of the brand new SSA Dcon are ready to ship! The 8" model will follow soon, and we will give an ETA when we know for sure it is ready. The Dcon, as we mentioned before, is our mid-power, sound quality biased driver. Very clean and accurate in sealed, and really thrives in smaller ported boxes. 300 watts is plenty in either box alignment. For the most part, a scaled back Icon. All stats and specs can be found >> on the SSA Dcon website. SSA Dcon 10D4 SSA Dcon 12D4 We will have updated pictures of the Dcon, just like the Icon when we have a chance to professionally shoot them. -

Recently I've been thinking about trying to fit a 15" Icon in the trunk of my Sunfire as opposed to the 12" I've planned. I typically would just use a slotted port, but the amount of displacement taken up by the port would bring the box pretty much all the way down to 3cft as opposed to the 4 that's supposed to be optimal. So I've been reading a bit and the idea of using Aero ports kind of interested me. However, does the recommendation for port area remain the same (12-16 square inches per cubic foot)? If so, I would need 2 6" ports or 4 4" ports, and in both configurations the port length would have to be too long. Is my only bet for fitting a 15" is to settle with some… -

This is going to be for a 12" dCON and I want to put it in its recommended sealed enclosure which is 1.2 cu ft. Just want you guys to double check on my specs for the box build, making sure the volume is right and all. Also do I need to use some of that box fill? If so how much Thanks guys, -Mike -

Hey what's going on? So I'm in a dilemma with myself on what to do. I've decided that I want to get the D-Cons for myself. The problem is that I don't know if I should go with 2-10s or 1-12. I plan to get the JL HD600/4 so I would have 300 watts to use on the subs. Just not sure if 300watts would be good for the two subs. I mainly listen to Hip-Hop, R&B, Dancehall Reggae so I'm not even 100% sure the D-cons are the right sub for me at all. I am trying to set-up a clean sounding SQ system, but would like the bump when wanted. Can anyone give me a little bit more insight of what to do? Thanks. -

Would 2 10" ICON's take 1500 watts daily? If not would it be possible to custom order one with some stiffer spiders or something? Amp is a Sundown SAZ-3000D, box will be ported (http://www.decware.com/whorn.htm). Thanks Guys! Duran -

Icon 12" sealed or a Icon 10" ported? Should have added, I meant in ideal boxes. Also, I would like to tune the box to 15-20hz since my amp does not have an SSF. I've got a blown 12" icon that i'll either fix or swap for a 10" and port. The 12" port box is just to big. -
