Other Xcon owners please chime in, looking for someone who can design an enclosure for these, will get trunk dimensions tomorrow. Its raining like a mofo right now and supposed to all night.

Glad I went down and picked up the 12 from you today, sounds louder than 3 P3's on a T3000.1, even with the prefab box. I am getting a box designed, will you be able to build it for me if I give you the sketch-up??

I finally installed my icon 15 in my truck. I had tried it in a friends box but today i put it in the console box I built. It bis 3.75 cubes tuned to 32 hz. I LOVE IT!!! It flexes my roof and all four windows and still sounds very clean. Just wanted to thank everyone for talking me into getting it instead of the kicker L7. Also thanks to SSA for making an incredible sub.

  5. Here's a sneak peak at whats to come. Our goals with this sub is to have a great sounded sub that can handle gobbs of power. I have a fresh Sundown 1500D waiting for this sub and a brand new text box, 2.5ft^3 @ 32hz w/43in^2 of port. Hopefully I get some time to take a short vid of the crazy amount of xmax this thing has. Denim can fill in the rest if he so chooses too, anyways, on to the pics.

Okay as all of you may or may not know I am home on leave from the Middle East. I am doing this review in my spare time (which has not been much due to some family issues). Also my digital camera was not around till after the install as my old one needed service and my new one had yet to be purchased. (AKA no pics but the 2 vids at the end.) All things considered we hace had decent grounds for this review so here we go!!!!! Equipment HU: Pioneer AVIC-N2 Comps: Kicker 6.5" componants (tweets on glass mids in doors) Amps: One 100.4 Sundown Audio amp (comps) and 1500-SAZ also by Sundown audio. My Xcon 15 came in today and its probably an understatement to say I'm excited. Just a little under a month now, and I get to throw this thing in and start jamming. And to think, before I started doing research and then found SSA, I was gonna get an Alpine Type-X 12 as the anchor of my "all Alpine system" . Everything was gonna match and to me, thats where it was at. Hell, if someone had asked me about 4 or 5 months ago about Sundown or SSA, I might have said "Aww hell naw don't get that no-name BS, get Alpine and JL". Lets just say I've evolved past that way of thinking and we'll leave it at that. Anyway, here are some pics: Now thats what I call one …

I just want to express my gratitude and tell you guys at SSA that the new site is fvcking amazing looking and is MUCH more user friendly than the last, somewhat "confusing to navigate" site (especially for viewing threads and posting). I'm on CA most of the day, but this site appearance dogs CA's.

Well, I ended up pushing my sub too hard and fried one of the tinsel leads. So now I'm rethinking what I want to do. After looking around the SSA store, I think I've decided to go with a DCON with the single 4 ohm coil option. My amp does 300 @ 4 ohms and 600 @ 2 ohms. I plan on running just a single one for now, and adding a second one in a few months (once the weather warms up and I can build a box for them). Sound like a good plan? I've been wanting to try some SSA's for a while now.

  17. im thinking about adding another xcon 12 and another ed nine.1 im just worried about space if i did it i would want to go ported but i dont know how it would fit seeing as how my 1 12inch xcon takes up a good amount of space in its ported box. maybe seal them up? i just dont want to lose output. what do you guys think of 2 xcons sealed up on 2 ed nine.1's? if i do this they will be going in an 07 ford fusion not in the 02 chevy malibu i have my xcon in now. Thanks guys in advance p.s the xcon is by far the best sounding sub i have ever owned. its starting to break in and get lowder and clearer haha adding another is going to be insane hehehe

  18. I got an icon 12 recently, it's in a sealed box, and I Love how low it goes. If I really turn my radio up it gets Loud and sounds clean. Thing is I think I'd like some more output, but still want it to get nice and low and sound good. I listen to mostly industrial, a bit of triphop, and rarely metal and rock, what would you recommend as far as a ported box goes?

After much debating, I finally decided to pull the trigger on a dcon 10 d4. Currently building a 1.25 cu ft box tuned to 32 hz. I am excited, but also a little nervous buying a speaker I have never heard. However, all the hype surrounding this woofer has convinced me to give it a try. I'm just hoping to get good clean sq with a little output from this speaker. It will be running off 300 watts from a JL XD 500/3 in a ford fusion.
