my buddy had me design a box for 4 icon 12's and i was wondering how this would work. box would be tuned to 28hz external: 17x38x41 internal: 14x33x38 port: 5x14 (20 long) (firing back) double baffel going into an explorer keeping the second row and running on a 3000d or 3500d (he said he was gonna try and find a 3000d used in good shape) and box would end up at about 8.78cubft after all displacement. the top and back parts were just there for me to get an image in my head. any suggestions? think it'll sound good? port nose problems? just tell me how ya feel i guess lol also, please check my math on tuning ect. if you dont mind -

I thought this was pretty cool. Of all the different pictures and manufacturers they had to choose from they picked SSA XCON's for the picture in their ad. -

Heard on facebook there was a delay on some subwoofer parts, I think this has affected the xcon availability? If so, when will the D1s come back in stock? I will be ordering 2 very soon. Thanks -

I'm in search mode right now for my second setup. Does anybody here knows the correct enclosure and tuning so I can obtain the most flattest response for the XCon 12"? I know I can achieve it in sealed enclosure but I'm leaning towards ported enclosure. I really love to listen to wide variety of music from rnb to techno and folk to love songs. Thanks -

While we are waiting on a few parts to come into the build house, there was enough to build up a small batch of Dcon 15's. Actual inventory of this posting: 15D4: 8 units 15S4: 10 units http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/dcon-15-sound-solutions-audio-15-300w-dcon-series-subwoofer.html -

okay i am a newb so lets keep any comments about me being a dumbass to a minimum. i have a 1991 mercedes benz s-class its a large car. i only have room for either 2 12"s or a 15". Any recommendations on what i should get. i can spend roughly 1000 for the sub/amp combination. i like the 15" SSA xCon or maybe 2 kicker l7 12's. i did like the Fi 15" Q but i read some reviews where people had durability issues. I am open minded to anything. Sound quality is somewhat important as i hate my friends 15" power accoustick P3. it is horrible. thanks David -

I will be making a order in the near future and trying to figure which is my best bet. This will be for 2 12in ICONS in a 3-3.5cu sealed setup. I will go copper coil but also wondering should I get the dual 1ohm or dual 2ohm. Also is a SAZ-1000 enough or should I go SAZ-1500. I would like to stay with one amp to power both subs. Thanks -

I've been drooling over getting an SSA for about 3 years now and finally pulled the trigger yesterday and got a 12" DCON. I have a subaru outback with 36" (I *think*) between the strut mounts and about 16" high. It can be as deep as needed and the seats also slant back a bit. My last pair of subs died because a friend slammed their bike into them so I'd like something that faced up or to the side. I'd like to go ported between 30 and 32. Anyone have any ideas on a shape I can use? I don't want this sub to succumb to the same fate as my last ones. -

I got an icon 12 recently, it's in a sealed box, and I Love how low it goes. If I really turn my radio up it gets Loud and sounds clean. Thing is I think I'd like some more output, but still want it to get nice and low and sound good. I listen to mostly industrial, a bit of triphop, and rarely metal and rock, what would you recommend as far as a ported box goes? -

I have my amplifier's gain set around 2500wrms. My commute to work is 50 minutes one way. I have been pounding on my XCON now for about a month (atleast a full hour a day) with well over rated wrms. So far it sounds clean, no mechanical noise or distortion that I can hear. The cone does get warm but no stinky. No coil rub at all. I need a recone due to a cosmetic flaw on my part. I accidently got expanding foam on the cone which has not affected anything but looks. So I figured on would pound on the sub and see what happens. So far the sub works flawlessly. 3" aluminum coil ftw. Good job to SSA. There is no doubt in my mind that this sub will function beautifully for yea… -

so I got my 15" Xcons installed and enough play time for a bit of break in.. first thing I gotta say is they are really tight and accurate.. I was expecting a bit of boomy ness (like most 15's) but I was supprized with almost no note over lap and really clean sounding speed drums that IMO are less muddy than the 10" Icons were..I found a new appreciation with all my favorite metal (Judas Preist,Motley Crue,Megadeath exc...) the tight bass guitar riffs and kick drums slip in and out flawlessly regardless of volume level and the note seperation is distinctive by tone...a very musical characteristic the power handling is excellent also.....I was able to shread every woofer I… -

Hi All, I purchased a 1.48 cubic foot box for a 12 inch Icon that I was purchasing, since it was the optimal size box after the sub displacement. However, through some serious luck and acts of nature, I was sent a 12 inch Xcon instead of the Icon. The sub is being powered by a SAE-1200D at 1 ohm in the back of my 2004 Impala. While the Xcon sounds great and is finally breaking in, it seems to want a bigger box. The sub is crossed at 80hz, and hits really hard in the 40 to 50 hz range, but below that it seems to run out of steam fast. I am guessing that this is due to the small box. I don't have the funds to have a new box built right at the moment, so I was wondering… -

I'm looking at purchasing either an Xcon or a Zcon. The Xcon is listed as having an aluminum shorting ring in the motor. My question is whether the Zcon does or not? I am assuming that it does not have an inductance demodulation circuit in the motor since it is not listed under the features. Can anyone confirm this please? Thanks. -
