So right now, I have a crappy Pioneer not even 200watts running off my JL Audio 500/1 ... So I want an Icon because I want a nicer subwoofer that I can grow into.. The woofer will be put into a sealed enclosure about 1.0 cubes. So obviously output will be louder with the better woofer and higher wattage.. Am I okay to underpower it? I know this question is common, but just would like to hear good news for my setup... Thanks guys... Also I am definitely tired of shitty Pioneer 12" ... Sounds like a fatty person's fart...lol... So I'd rather spend my 300 beans with you guys and not give it to Big Business .. Plus the reviews of the product are just too insane to not try i…

Lets see how many likes we can get on this layout. We want to offer some more "in style" colors, we are thinking dark purple, sapphire blue and black. Here is the purple design. Also, if you are at SBN, hunt us down, you will get a free shirt while supplies last "Like" (right hand side of post) this post if you like the design!

Welcome to the very first 8” sub worthy to wear the SSA logo. A decade of reknown SSA signature sound that is pure, warm, and precise, while having tremendous output that is now finally availble in the new SSA F8L 8” sub. (Pronounced “Fatal”) Vicious in looks, and pure beef in build, the all new SSA F8L 8” sub is an absolutle tank just like every other SSA sub, but finally in a compact package. Conservatively ratted at 650 watts, right off the bat, you can tell the SSA F8L means business. For the serious mechanical side of the design, the SSA F8L employs a very powerful motor with dual high strength Y35-140 oz magnets protected by a motor boot, yet the inductance is…

Well, we spent some money today . What we spent it on was a professionally produced video for SSA Sub's. John, who is producing the video currently has 3 Video's on MTV! Just looking at the footage we took, this video should be like nothing you've seen before as far as excursion videos go. Also, we plan to stream this on the home page and our youtube home page. Editing should take a few days. Hopefully he doesn't get side tracked in the process. Here's a little pic I took while he was working. Link to his other video's: john colombo on Vimeo UPDATE: btw, the guy in the video is our very own Sound=Vibration from SSA forums...

A week ago I posted in the speaker forum about 1 of my xcons getting hot while the other stayed cool and I figured out what happened with the wires getting mixed up but then today when I fixed the speaker wires the speaker would not work at all. When I push the sub in it is not locked or make any screaching noise. The leads seem to be fine. There looks like there might be a slight tear in the spider. Would a recone fix this or would it need to be sent out? Also how much does 1 cost for 15"xcon If there is anything else anyone can suggest for me to look at the sub or to try it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

HOTTT TOPIC: WHO WOULD WIN? SSA XCON 18" VS FI BTL 18" VS digital designs DD9518g VS Incriminator audio's DeathPenalty 18" I like the XCON's they are my number one pick right now, B/C I can afford at least one of them sometime this year and all i read about them is great, but what about the other brands? I am looking for: (In preference order) -Sound quality 1st -Loudness 2nd -size of subwoofer 18" or 15".... maybe just maybe a 12" but i have a feeling that would sacrifice too much loudness for only a minor increase in sound quality. please feel free to recommend any other sub brands and models i should look at, im not buying anything as of yet. I am only looking for a…

i just purchased 2 10" icons for my 2003 mitsu evo 8. i need help with the best box design for my trunk. im looking for the loudest set up i can get. so far im thinking about firing them towards the cabin and have the port fire the same way in a 3cf box tuned to 32hz. there is only a metal cross brace between the seat and trunk. other options are to fire them towards the back and have the port the same way, but i want a custom install so it would be walled off, not sure if this would hurt sound. finally, i was thinking about firing them back and have the ports on top firing through my rear deck speaker holes (i removed my rear deck speakers) and create a kind of ban…

When your sub bass goal is nothing but supreme, unrestrained performance without compromise, the choice is the SSA Evil. The capabilities of the SSA Evil put it in very exclusive company at the zenith of the marketplace. This is where you look first for the ultimate ‘ground pounder’ that will not miss or muddy a note. Crisp and clean across the entire frequency range for those demanding outstanding linear performance thanks to an FEA optimized motor. Employing a massive triple stack motor, five sandwiched 10” progressive Nomex spiders, an anodized vented Aluminum former, a huge 4-layer 4” flat wound Aluminum coil and a towering ‘Venturi’ solid pole, the SSA Evil has the m…

I got my xcon in the Wed. I am kinda late on posting anything about for i have been building boxes for the last week. I heard it for the first time yesterday in the new box.(7.3cuft@30hz 107.6sqin of port) I like the way it sounds. :bigclap: Different than any other sub i have heard. I must say that i love it. It SLAMS the lows. I listened to some heavy metal to see how well it picked up the double bass, I must say i am very impressed. The $426.54 i paid for it was well worth it. I would recommend this sub as well as ssa to anyone that I talked to . Very great company with outstanding quality speakers.

As I'm still going through early stages of planning for my upcoming system, I have been trying to figure out the subwoofer combo I can come up with to maximize the output of my vehicle. And as I was looking at different drivers, wanting to stay with SSA, I thought I was set on 6 12" zcons. But for shits and giggles, I looked at the SMD driver as well, and noticed how much less space they require when comparing. Utilizing the demensions I have available, I could potentially comfortably fit 4 18"s SMD drivers. So my question is, being a die hard SSA fan, I was wondering if there are any works in producing a simliar driver. I won't be ready to purchase for at least another 8…
