It's perfect for the setup I had envisioned for my car: single amp driving passives up front and sub with the rear channel. Small sub box, moderate power requirements. I bought the single 4-ohm version, which gets fed a healthy 400 watts from my Exile amp. Low-pass is around 90Hz, higher than I want, but my Alpine mids are the limiting factor right now. I have a zapco 9.0xd, 2200@ 4 ohms and I have a saz3500, 3500@1 ohm. Which would be the better choice for a pair of xcon 12's for the best sq? Car is an Audi A6. I like the idea of running them at 4ohms and it would be easier om the electrical but is 1100 each enough?

So i was waiting patiently for the Xcons to arrive. After working for 26 hours i had to stay awake to make sure they made it into the house safely. Of course i got the same ol' thing from the driver, "This thing is heavy as hell" talk. As i put down the second sub i noticed some prick penetrated the box!! In any other scenario this would be normal but not this time. This is what i saw... My first thought was,"OH SHIT!! that better have not gone through the surround!!"

i just wanted to ASK you guys at SSA if i could possibly have a custom built woofer. an iCon 5d2 to go in my backpack system. i would much prefer over the tang bands, because knowing you guys, it would have at least like 200w rms handling lol. thanks for tolerating my stupidity! -Chris

As of now, the 10" and 12" versions of the brand new SSA Dcon are ready to ship! The 8" model will follow soon, and we will give an ETA when we know for sure it is ready. The Dcon, as we mentioned before, is our mid-power, sound quality biased driver. Very clean and accurate in sealed, and really thrives in smaller ported boxes. 300 watts is plenty in either box alignment. For the most part, a scaled back Icon. We are going to be keeping a 30 driver inventory on hand for more efficient shipping time. This will be a great buffer between SSA and the build house, so in most cases after our inventory arrives, SSA subs will have a 24 hr shipping time frame! I am planning on going with a SSA Evil 15 in a blow through in my regular cab Nissan Hardbody. I was planning on running 4000rms to it....maybe a pinch bit more. I know there aren't many of these in people's rides just yet, but for those that know, how well will this beast take 4000rms? -and I'm gunna have the electrical all done,too....just fyi- Thanks in advance -John-

I just ordered a pair of GCON 12" D4 to be powered by a couple of 800W RMS amps. While waiting, I figured I'd build a box to fit in my trunk. After deciding I wanted to go with a sealed box to save room on space and measuring the insides of my trunk, I sat down with google sketchup and this is what I came up with. It will be cut from a sheet of 48"x96"x3/4" MDF, wood glued, and then wrapped in trunk-matching carpet. Let me know what you think!

Ii was just wondering if ssa sold to dealers like kicker does or if the only way you can get them is on the internet because i had a dcon installed on my moms camry and my audio guy said he really liked them and said he wouldn't mind selling youre guys products if you would allow it

Got my Zcon 15' D2 today nd my god... WTF is this BEAST!?!?! This monster is SO huge i have never seen anything like this!! My old sub wasnt even half the size... When i took off the plastic nd placed it on the ground i just got stuck looking at it for a good 10 mins. Im really scared now... For my car that is! This beast will tear it apart in no time!! Cant wait to get this in and running!! Thanks alot SSA!!

would like some help in looking up any installs that use four or more 15/18" xcons..... attempting to become familiar with these larger, more extreme set-ups.... any info, links, direction offered is greatly appreciated.... i did see thumpers 4 15" xcons with the all white, glassed enclosure.....any one know what this metered at.... the specs of it? thanks for the help fellars, i plan on returning the favor soon, perhaps with my own xcon build log. chop

Well i have been looking for some great subs for a while now and i think i have found them. I listen to a lot of rock and metal (avendged sevenfold, as i lay dying, bullet for my valentine) which has double bass in it. And i was wondering if perhaps the size of the driver would make the double bass or just bass petal kick in general sound better or worse? Also since i am lookin for the tight crisp bass i believe it would be best to go with a sealed box? Any input is greatly apreciated.

I would like to see a ICON review please I have 2 10s in my car right know but I am thinking about trying something new and these look nice. The thing is I need to know how they preform sealed. I like the sound of a sealed sub. I am thinking of 1-12 or 2 10s not sure if I can come up with the money for 2 10s. I do have 800wrms to give what ever I go with. I want it to be musical but want it to get loud when I ask it to. Right know I have 2 Phoenix gold RSd 10s sealed and they sound nice to me. I have had RLi 8s sealed, Rlp 12 ported and a RE SE12 ported. How would you compare them to all of the above. Thanks for all your help, Mike J.

i have been doing alot of reading about subs latley.. i am wanting to get a new 15 and have decided on the Xcon 15 with dual 2 ohm.. i have a alpine type r 15 right now.. i should be ordering it next week.. i have a few qustions... does it take a week to build it ? ( really doesn't matter, just wonder ) ... and where are you located ? what state ? one more... i have a hifonics brutus 1200 mono sub amp.. will this be enough for the Xcon ? i have a ford f-150 fx4 super crew it will be going in... .. i built the box for the type r in my truck, but i palin on a building a new box alot like my old one. except this one will go over my rear seat more like a conse…

Just got finished Getting My Ride Miked, Single D-Con 10" - Mono Powered @ 500 W RMS Slot Ported PTS Enclosure - Sub in Trunk 136.7 at 45hz Box Tuned to 33hz are these good numbers for a single 10" ? besides that is anybody out there hitting 136.7 with 500 watts ? just curiuos , i am new to SPL and am going to be competing this year. thanks

Hey, my enclosure is 2.2 cubes and tuned to 32hz for the 12" icon, but that feeling of upgradeing is kicking in. Instead of selling it, I want to make some more enclosures for it to keep me occupied. I need a few plans...so what volume and tunning would you recommend. Give me some ideas...

got my icon 15" today , looks pretty good and solid. after doing some reading i wish i would have spent the extra money and got a xcon and sold my jl 1000 n got a sundown amp but i think the icon will be pleasing to my ears :bigclap: ill know next week when my box arrives maybe ill try a xcon 12" and sundown amp in my camaro or mustang if i can get enough airspace nice work ssa keep it up
