Asked Sundown this and will all you too, what you would consider your SQ sub? Again they all look to have a consideration for SQ and not be pure SPL or one note wonders, but again maybe 60-40 street beater vs. SQ. Do you have any plans for an SQ reference sub as well?

I've been meaning to do this for a while but haven't had a chance yet. 15" Icon Home Sealed Lower power - 4-5.5 cubes Higher power - 2.5-3 cubes sealed Home Ported Music - 4 cubes tuned to 30 Hz Home Theatre - 5 cubes tuned to 20 Hz (can tune lower if wanted) Vehicle Sealed 2-2.5 cubes sealed Vehicle Ported 3.5-4 cubes tuned anywhere from 28-35 Hz Any of those should work just fine. It's very important that you match your enclosure to your application. If you do so, you'll be very happy.

Mark, This is in reference to THIS TOPIC.... I looked in the store but I cannot "order" or "add to cart" the 15 inch Xcon. Just curious about the shipping method since I need to ship to a P.O. box. Please let me know what we can do. Message me or respond here if possible. Thanks, Danny Also this: Just to make sure, enclosure recommendations is 4 cubes ported.... Inner dimensions I came up with are as follows: H: 16in W: 25in D: 18.5in is that right???

Has anyone tried a xcon in a 4th order? I have 1 10 right now on a saz1500@ .5 in a 1.75^3ft tuned to 31hz with 31" port area. It's in a 18 wheeler and am having trouble getting it as loud as I'm sure it's capable of. I previously tried a 1.25 sealed and enclosures didn't make much of a difference. This vehicle previously had a difficult time due to cancellation. The space I have to work with is 13.5h, 37w, 23d. I was gonna try using a smaller enclosure and less port, maybe down to 13" per cube. I'm about to order a second 10 and another 1500 to get the cone area and power up. But I wanted to eliminate the canceling of the cone/port and try a 4th order with the port firin…

Hello, I want to tell you my feeling after changing my sub enclosure. Some people are afraid of going sealed with the Xcons, and want advices. I had a 3.5 ft3 sub box, tuned to 32 Hz. Design was made by Fisher Customs (need the new ones JBL Camry, please). My car is a hatchback car, and I had the sub and port facing up. I loved it, but I could not put a bottle of water (or whatever) in the trunk, and the amps were not breathing right : no room at all. I made a friend (he has an Xcon 15" too) build a sealed box for me : dim are (70 x 40 x 40 cm), so 27.6" x 15.7" x 15.7 ". I think they fit in the ones provided by ssa. I have a lot more room in the trunk and I like that !…

I was asking a question on "that other forum" about some different setups and this was one of the replies that I got: So the 10" Dcon isn't a good sub, and the enclosure built to optimal specs isn't efficient?

orion says sealed enclosures are louder to ear than ported ones. my goals are good sq but with the ability to get loud too. so it thats true that sealed is perceived louder than ported i might go with it. whats your experience there?

6.9 cuft@32hz. 101.75sqin of port. I shortened it by about 5 inches, widened it 1 inch, and made it 1 inch deeper.

Well i have been looking for some great subs for a while now and i think i have found them. I listen to a lot of rock and metal (avendged sevenfold, as i lay dying, bullet for my valentine) which has double bass in it. And i was wondering if perhaps the size of the driver would make the double bass or just bass petal kick in general sound better or worse? Also since i am lookin for the tight crisp bass i believe it would be best to go with a sealed box? Any input is greatly apreciated.

I documented the complete build from start to finish for this enclosure since folks wanted to see it, all 65 pictures worth. The only pic's I didn't take were of the enclosure with carpet, the camera batteries crapped out. http://s296.photobucket.com/albums/mm184/m...verado%20build/ You'll have to view the album start from the last page backwards, it just happened to upload the pics in that order.

Decided to go above recommended and build with a touch more air space. Here's the specs... Intenal Volume: 3.16ft^3 Tuning Freq: 31hz Port Area: 60.75in^2 So far I think this is by far the best sounding set up that has been in the Hyundai. Very nice and flat response at this tuning. I really want more power on it soon though. I'm running a SAZ-1500D @ 2 ohms Probably Gonna get a SAZ-3000d in there when they come in stock. Anyways...on to the pics.
