a dcon or gcon for a small sealed enclosure? I was extremely happy wit my dcon10 and want to go small again. Since I dotn have a sub amp yet Im also flexible on how much power I need to run although I have liek a 300 watts amp that might be a nice fit for a dcon.

Im in the process of picking out my sub and box combination, I was thinking of either waiting on a 10" Dcon or going with a Gcon. The amp that I have is a Soundstream 405s, these are the dimensions that I'm working with 30x12x15 any suggestions would be great.

Posted up on DIYma: After a few weeks, there's not much I can say other than this is the best sub I've ever owned. It's simply amazingly accurate. It's perfect for the setup I had envisioned for my car: single amp driving passives up front and sub with the rear channel. Small sub box, moderate power requirements. I bought the single 4-ohm version, which gets fed a healthy 400 watts from my Exile amp. Low-pass is around 90Hz, higher than I want, but my Alpine mids are the limiting factor right now. These days I mostly listen to electronica, but I've had the Focal CD's downloaded for some time now. I finally got them burned to CD, and thought what the hell, it's been a whi…

I'm doing a temporary half-wall so I can still see out of the back window. How many dbs could be gained by sealing it all up? Does the magnet have a hole in the bottom? Is 6.5" mounting depth not including the depth of the mounting ring? What's the depth of the mounting ring? Would there be a problem inverting the dcon? Would I have to phase it? The box will be pretty close to but not touching the rear windows, would that be a problem?

I've been eyeing the Dcons for a month or two and now that the price was dropped I'm defineatly getting three. I just don't know if i want tens or twelves. My question is how much wattage is safe for them? I plan on running them with an Elemetal Desings Nine.1 at one ohm for 1200 watts. I know the Dcon's are rated for three hundred watts and my amp is underatted and with my electrical upgrades I'd be at 1400-1500 watts. With all that said should i just go easy on the gains or downgrade my amp?

I'm been thinking about getting some new subs. I currently have a single 10". I'm looking for sound quality but wouldn't mind something louder. I have enough room for some 12's in the trunk. I love the sound of sealed boxes. I drive an old card though so I know I wouldn't be able to push more than 1 icon without multiple batteries/alternator upgrade. Having heard neither the icon or dcon in person i'm wondering how they compare in both spl and sq. I hear the icon is a great sub but if the quality isnt that much better than a pair of dcons, i dont know if i can justify twice the wattage. Either scenario will be upgrade from my current. Just looking for some opinions from p…

So, a friend of mine is looking for some good bass in his car. He has tried many things, and I don't think he is looking in the right place. He currently has 2 12 Kenwood KFCs in a sealed box, but has also had pioneer 10s, (the gray ones from wal-mart), and visonik 10s and 12s. The problem with the Kenwoods is that they don't hit the lows he is looking for. I was hoping to help him sell the Kenwoods and was thinking of steering him towards the DCONS, (budgeted install... budget is probably what he can get for the kenwoods and 1 10inch pioneer and his amp, a sony 220 gtx). I think that he wants to be plenty loud, but still sound good on a low budget. The vehicle is a…

Just left marks house. My dad and i both got a demo of xcons. They sound even better than i imagined. They were really crisp, tight, and accurate. They love the low notes. They also put out quite a bit of output. Thanks again for the demo mark. Maybe i will have to switch out my xl 18s to xcons now

  19. I'm curious what the main sound difference would be between a 1 vs 1.25 cu ft box tuned to 30 hz? I'm trying to build a custom box in my fusion against the passenger side wall in my trunk. I can maybe get 1.2 cu ft if I run the port outside the box, otherwise I'm looking at a net of closer to 1 with a round port. Alo, how important is it for the port to fire out on the same plane as the woofer? Would it be ok to let it fire out the side toward the rear seats with the woofer firing across the trunk? Thanks

This may sound strange, but I was wondering what would be involved with getting more details on the actual dimensions of the ZCON and XCON 15" Basically like the magnet diameter, thickness of it, etc. (an actual technical drawing would be great too!) Reason I ask is I am working on a design for my friend's car and have enough cubic feet but limited height to work with, so I'm trying to see if I can make one of these fit. I want him to be an SSA guy if possible! Thanks in advance!

alrite so heres the basics, box is 3 cu ft tuned to 35 hz ported. powered by a SoundStream PCA 2000d turned half way up on gain, so about ~1000 watts. Let's just say if Bass Mekanik was a judge, this sub would pass. The first disc i threw in was my Bass Mekanik Reload cd and it sounded great. After a while of driving and listening i decided to turn the amp up more so now its gettin around 1300-1400 watts and still works perfectly. My second test involves ~1000 watts on rap music. i threw in 3 6 mafia late night tip, icp- Aint yo bidness, and KottonMouth Kings-bump. The sub sounds great. When the bass starts to get faster, the woofer does not mutter, or kind of j…
