i purchased an SSD15 for my niece's car back in October i believe. built a nice ported enclosure around 3.5 cu/ft. i also installed a Kolossus Fleks 0 Gauge amp kit to an ASA800.2 powerbass amp. power at the amp was at 13.6 to 13.8 at full tilt. i also set the gain with a volt meter and tinkered with it by ear. i am no expert by any means, but i did a lot of reading on the subject of install to avoid any kind of clipping. anyways, i told her not to mess with the setting on the head unit. well, played around with her system several months later to find all the settings were jacked up, loud button on, bass boosted in the eq. changed anything back to where i had the…

i have an original style (stamped basket) AA assasin 8 that needs a recone. would it be possible to: - get the newer style 12 spoke basket (8") - recone the sub to D2 or D4 instead of Single 4 - add another spider or something to stiffen it up a bit. if these things are possible, or if they aren't, but you can do a straight recone, how much will it cost?

So I had an 18" SSD in my jeep and it was pretty darn loud. I recently took it out because of some water damage to its box and now I'm not driving the jeep anymore. Instead I'm driving a smaller ford focus. I'm highly doubting i could fit the SSD into the ford focus, so I was thinking maybe a pair of 12s. Compared to the SSD, how does the X sound ? I'm mainly talking SPL here, cause I'm sure the X still has great SQ. And i know, dependent on box etc, blah blah. I'm talking straight up though. Will it seem like a major downgrade in SPL ?

After some time being away and such I'm getting ready to order an Amp and a BL 15". I've been looking to buy a Kicker ZX1000.1 but I have yet to be able to understand the relation of ohms between amps and subs...I'm terrible at math. The amp does 1000W RMS at 2 ohms so does that mean I would want the 1 ohm option with the BL? --Thanks for any replies.

I have question for you guys. I currently own a RE Audio XXX12 '06 and have previously owned an Adire Brahma 12 mk2 and I am looking for something else. I stumbled on the Fi Audio Q12. My main use for this driver would be SQ(L). And I have had the xxx and the brahma in custom made ported and closed boxes. Is there anyone who has heared the Q12 and xxx/brahma and can tell me what I could expect?

i think that this question will mostly be aimed at Scott....i recently purchased a "damaged" brahma mark II 12"(i think, no idea which is which but i am tol the mark II) that wasn't damaged at all really...just had to fix a bad glue joint and it works perfect now... 30 bucks and a 2 dollar tube of adhesive isn't too bad, but for my real question i bought it with the intentions of re-coning it to an 18" Fi Brahma Hybrid of some sort.... i was wondering if it could be done...or has it been done? i was thinking a dual 2 ohm coil with at least 1100 watts power handling... i still want to retain good sound quality also...not sure if i would want to do it ported or sealed thou…

I did a Google search for Brahma recones, and this was the only real result I got back. I know Fi's not Adire Audio, but I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I'm pretty sure I blew one or both voice coils on my Adire Brahma, and I was wondering if you sell recone kits, so I could take the sub to a local shop to get it reconed, or if I could ship the sub to you and get it reconed. The sub is a 15" Adire Brahma, Mk I or Mk II, I can't tell the difference, it's got the four spoke basket though. Dual 2 ohm voice coils. Ok, so i currently own a vw mk5 gti, and it has a rather small trunk space to say the least i plan on a small 12" sub. This is the trunk space i have to work with. (Picture is not my trunk) A friend of mine had a few 18" BTL's in his truck, big fan of steve meade. He says he would recommend nothing but Fi Audio for subwoofers. So im going to take his advice and go with that. I also will be using that for daily sound not SPL. He suggested the BTL 12" , unfortunately i dont know much about them, and he isnt around enough to be a big help. I realistically dont need the 2000 watts atm, but it would be nice to have that option for later, but someone i know said its not good …

So, all i have exp with are the typical square ports that are commonly seen. I have no idea about these nice little round ports that occasionally pop out at me. Can yall give me some info on these. I kinda like the way they look and am now kinda thinkin of givin them a try on my girls little car. any info would be great. as i said, i have no clue as to anything about them at all.

im just wandering if its possible to fit 4 18's ssd's in a non-wall explorer XLT? granted, i know you cant just go out try it out, but i know alot of you guys have big suvs, and might have an idea. right now i have a range rover and i know i couldnt fit 24 cubes in there. any input is appreciated and i dont mind taking the backseat out but i really dont want to do a wall. the explorer XLT would be a later model like mid 90's if that changes anything

Alright.. first of all excuse my terminology.. probably use some 'wrong' terms in this post, bare with me here is some backround.. 1 18"BTL, 1 SAZ1500D, 2 Kinetik HC2000's, all 1/0 knu wire. Had some guy build a box for me.. thought he knew what he was doin.. i could have been wrong.. the box seems strong.. very huge. I dont know the exact Cu Ft of the box, he told me tuning was around 32hz. This is my first big system.. ive had tons of 12's but no 15's or 18's. I was thinking.... Right now I have a 15" BL with an RF T10001BD amp, its loud, very loud. I want a more sensible setup but attempt to keep the same sub output, I don't think its possible. I want small box, small amp, and still be able to do 140s. I know thats not possible. I just want to reclaim my trunk space back and my spare tire and jack!!! With that huge box in my tC there is no more trunk space!!!! Now I am getting kinda tired of hauling around a 100lbs box... Ok I'm done ranting....you may return to your regularly schedule program.

I just wanted to say that I am amazed by your subs. I haven't cranked it up in a while, but I did yesterday, and was bewildered again. I was at Circuit city yesterday, and all of the guys who work there showed me their equipment. Kicker, MTX. A customer had a JL W712 on an alpine 1000. They sounded ok, but my bros bl 12 just kills the JL spl wise, as well as another guys 2 kicker comp 12s. The lows the the BL are just nasty- sounding strong and authoritative. I have 2 18" BTLs w/ 2 memphis 4ks, and I noticed on strong hits I'll hold 12v at the front, but at the amps I was droppping in the 8-9v range.
