  1. I have question for you guys. I currently own a RE Audio XXX12 '06 and have previously owned an Adire Brahma 12 mk2 and I am looking for something else. I stumbled on the Fi Audio Q12. My main use for this driver would be SQ(L). And I have had the xxx and the brahma in custom made ported and closed boxes. Is there anyone who has heared the Q12 and xxx/brahma and can tell me what I could expect?

  2. I've been told the Subsonic filter is NOT always accurate, with some parts on amps made in bulk somewhere in china trying to cut costs, they can turn out to be less accurate with a subsonic filter resulting in a 20% variance. I guess what im asking is besides looking at the Hz marking alongside the subsonic filter knob, how else can a person figure out what Hz the filter is really set up to. I don't want to set up my filter based on the knob markings thinking its filtering everything below 31 hz when it really is set up to filter below 28 hz. So is there another way to set up the subsonic filter without assuming the standard markings on the knob are accurate. Thx 4 readi…

Ok, so iv decided with my price budget that it would be best to get one 18" Fi BTL. The only problem with that is I have a 2004 Impala, and the recommended box cutout is a little too big. It says the height should be 22.5" but i only have room for around 19" max. Would those couple of inches really be that big of a deal? or do you have other suggestions on how i should build my box? I have plenty of room for Width and Depth, its only the height that seems to be an issue.

I have read here that there is a delay on the BL models due to lack of steel. I just ordered a Q12 and was wondering if it would be delayed also. And is the Wednesday night chat still going on? Thanks for all your help.

I ordered my ssd 18 on the 18th of march. Revieved it today. april 18th. And when I opened my box the sub was sitting sideways. I have read forums on here about peoples subs arriving messed up and fi not fixing it so I decided to take pictures for proof. Will fi fix this or am I just screwed? I have a feeling its revenge for me complaining about build time. I have pictures on my computer, I just don't know how to put them on here, could anyone help me?

Over the past year alone I have been through almost a half dozen systems in the constant quest to find a sub that was not only loud, but sounded decent doing so. I've owned Alpine, Kicker, and many other brands in between. I would only purchase one sub at a time in order to decide if it was worth buying more than one, and I never bought more than one. I had never owned an 18 inch woofer, and having owned 10s, 12s, and 15s, I wanted to try the next biggest step, especially since my 99 Yukon had the room to accomodate the system. After I had placed my order for an 18" dual 2ohm BTL with cooling, 3rdMagnet, and HiXmCoil, I began to beef up my electrical system in anticipatio…

I've had a number of people make comments here recently that there are "Others" that "Make speakers in the states"..and it does not take them anywhere near as long as it does us.... Well..they do drop soft parts in the motors, however all of the motors are machined and pre-built (sometimes even pre magnetized) in China..and they get Chinese soft parts dropped into them with an American coil. There are no worth while viable options that can be put in here or any way of giving you a choice to have things how they should be for your installation. If you do not need a dual magneto setup for your top fuel funny car, but just a regular single pro mag..then only pay for the regu…

I was leaning towards getting the Sundown Audio 1200 for when I purchase two Fi Audio SSD12 subs. But came across the Audioque AQ1200D. 10. I have just acquired a PSI platform 3 woofer and I would like to get it reconed with Fi soft parts. I cut out the coil and it kinda looks like a BTL triple stack coil would fit. Would you guys be able to hand make a drop in kit for this woofer for me? I will post pics of the coil and motor if you need.

After waiting a little over a month I was excited when the shipping guy called and said my sub showed up. Then he said it felt funny so he opened it before the FedEx guy left. He said it looks like its ok but I'll take pics of how it came. Here are those pics. I was very disappointed when I saw it. It's like someone through it in a box and hoped for the best. I bought some closeout mids from parts Express that were $30 that was packaged much better. I understand that shipping companies can be rough, especially with heavy boxes but still. I'm lucky that there isn't any apparent damage other than a little chip on the magnet. I'lbbl know more in a couple days when I g…

Hey, I'm pretty new to SSA Forums, and I just wanna start out by saying this is a great site and I have already found out a lot of useful things on here. I got bored tonight, and I decided to make a simple Fi wallpaper out of a high resolution Fi logo that Nick sent me (Thank you Nick!). I made it in TONS of resolutions, and I can make it in more on demand, as of right now, they're only uploaded on zShare in a zip file with all the resolutions listed below, if you do not like zShare, let me know a better place to upload them and I will, if you would like me to upload a certain one to a certain website, let me know which one and what website and I will do so. I love to hear stories about driving daily with your Fi subs and something peculiar happening.... So i thought I'd be fun to create a thread where we can share a funny story about our daily driving experience.... I am a big fan of steve meade (how can you not idolize a guy that can pour that kind of money into his systems) So i put in my two new amps and battery (1K each sub and now no voltage dropping).. My cousin who has been with me since day one of car audio was there for the initial install of the Fi subs (with 500 wats each no battery and voltage loss down to 11.8 +/-).... So myself and my 11 year old son installed the new amps and battery.... took it for a whirl ad…

I just bought a brand new Konaki 12", I plan to recone it down to a 10" and run a pair daily off my kx2500.1, I would like to get a shipped quote to 26851 for a 10" DVC 2 ohm kit, I would also need a 10" basket and rubber gasket and FI dust cap, I know they are included but I would like to get one with the FI logo on it. I plan to run 1200 watts to each Konaki 10" once I get them reconed, I dont know what coils or kit Scott or FI would use but I need/want something that will take 1200 watts rms, and be good for a daily type install. I tried pm'ing Scott but his box is full, pm sent to NDmustang

well yesterday was not a good day for me. while sitting at a local grocery store parking lot my sp4 caught on fire in my vehicle and i had to pull the heavy box and sub out of my truck while on fire and ended up going to the ER with 2nd degree burns on my hand. My question is why did this happen? i seen a few things about the new leads that the company uses are breaking off and sparking. i was running a hifonics brz 1700 to the sub so it was a good bit under powered. i emailed fi but that could take a few day to hear back, since this was not my fault and had nothing to do with the sub acting up will FI replace the sub or give me a recone at least? If they dont do any thi…

  20. What's up everyone! So you guys are probably used to me posting stuff on Team Sundown Russia with everything being pretty much 100% Sundown gear with a few Skars or Obsidian thrown in to the mix. This time we went a little out of our way to pick up some awesome Fi BTL n2 12's (Thanks Scott! thanks Am!!) here we are unboxing, busting balls over how stiff the spider pack is and generally bullshitting in Russian We plugged them into our in-shop Audi A4 sedan, which has lately become our test mule for just about anything we can get our hands on. It's not sealed off, subs forward, 6" port firing to the side....it's usually used for door open demos at meets and what no…
