General Fi

Sorry for all of the NooB questions lately. I'm just undecisive right now. I do know I want to go with the BTL drivers, but not sure which combination. I have the budget, I have the space required. I'm not sure if I want 2 15" BTLs with 2k each or 1 18" btl with 3000-3500 to it. How do the Btl's compare to the MTX 9500 and the JL W7? Personally, I dont care for the JL, but I love the 9500s. Vehicle we're looking at is a big ol expedition. Plenty of room for something nice and loud. Not to sound childish, but I want something so loud, i can barely sit in the vehicle with it at max - if at all. i put a 15" 9500 in the back of a prelude once, and it was plenty loud then. - …

Driving home from work today minding my own business, turning onto another road. Went to give it some gas....hmmm car not moving, look down at gauges ok well everything is at zero....hmmmkay. Stereo still running, ac fan still running. Ahhh tried to start the car while moving but it didn't start......Stop the car, looked around puzzled, looked back in my mirror I see a little smoke, look at the hood oh there is more smoke. First thing that popped to my mind I have no fire extinguisher, and second thing that popped into my mind is that I have no more warranty!!!!! i ordered a fi btl and it was suppose to arrive yesterday. I was at work and wen i got home there was no note on my door so i can pick it up. Nobody was at home to sign for it so wat should i do? Do i need to contact UPS?

ok so how loud could a 12" BL get with daily music? in let say about 2.5cuft and 1500 watts???

Went to my first SQ comp today and took home 1st place (IASCA) Running 2 Fi Q's Bass score was 16 out of 20 possible points. Would have been better score but the judge said I could have used a bit more power on the subs. (ran them set to Eric Holdaway's ears and some judges like more or less here or there) Way to go Scott da man, judge looked over the install after the SQ judging during my presentation and smiled when he saw Fi subs, said he was happy Scott was going strong (exactly his words). Damn Scott everyone knows you! I will admit I scored 26 points behind 2nd place for SQ due to front stage/imaging issues but stomped ass in install by 48 points. I will get …

Hi all, I have built two 120 L cabinets two drivers per box in a dual opposed configuration (drivers facing out) I have been told that the std Qts drivers can sound peaky ? Can someone explains to me the term PEAKY. I have four Fi Q 15" first two orderd was dual 1 ohm but the second set I orderd later was dual 2 ohm so I will be having these changed back to dual 1 ohm as this suits my inuke amps. So it it worth having all my drivers changed to High Qts or is there not much difference between them ?? Thanks for any input

scott, i took my sub apart today and when i looked at the coil i found that my voice coil was really scratched up on one side, i dont know if its from me taking it apart or wut. i really doubt its from me taking it apart. i dont know how to put the pic up here so im just gonna email the pic to you. if its something with the magnet or motor i dont want this to happen to my new coils. please let me know wut u think.

What the hell does this thing weight??? If I had to guess I guess from between 70-80 LBS.... Mine came today and I had it shipped to my Mom and Dad's house as I knew someone would be home to sign for it and take it in vs @ my house the UPS guy would leave it on the front porch for the neighbors to carry off.... Or tow away, with the weight of this thing... LOL... I must say, very nice on the packing job... If one of these comes damaged it was from the shippers neglect, not FIs.... Just a few more things (head unit, rest of the wire and some sound deadener) and I'll have everything... Still hoping for March or early April to have everything...

First show with the BL18's finally playing in the wall, didnt do dbdrag, but managed a 148.3 for bass race....I was pretty happy considering we still havent done any testing on it Lots of work to do yet, the baffle (5 layers thick) was still flexing like a mofo, so we def. need some bracing. Still have to tune the wall as well, woofers getting a little warm and smelly :-) Love the subs, def seeing a 150+ bass race in the near future!! I'll try and post pics soon...

I did a Google search for Brahma recones, and this was the only real result I got back. I know Fi's not Adire Audio, but I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I'm pretty sure I blew one or both voice coils on my Adire Brahma, and I was wondering if you sell recone kits, so I could take the sub to a local shop to get it reconed, or if I could ship the sub to you and get it reconed. The sub is a 15" Adire Brahma, Mk I or Mk II, I can't tell the difference, it's got the four spoke basket though. Dual 2 ohm voice coils. being that the BTL is more spl oriented<<--- or does it matter if a sub is spl oriented? how does it handle the lows?

Im looking to buy a FI 15". The sub will be in a jeep. Which application would be the best? I was thinking about the BTL. For the most SPL which options should I add? Also what type of amp should I be looking at? Im not trying to spend a ton on an amp. I found a nice Planet Audio thats 3000@1ohm. Me and a buddy will build the enclosure. Let me know! Also...is the BTL alotttt louder than the BL?

I was in street B, and got 2nd place with a 140.5db run. Another guy from here "chapter 2" got 1st with 145.9db in street B. We were both running 15" BL, except his box was bigger than mines and he had a bigger amp... :-( Charles another guy on here took 3rd in street B with 137.6db with 2 12" SSDs. Charles man, BIGGER Box!!! I took 1st in bass race 130-139.9. Another guy on here Tom took 2nd with 152.2db in Super Street 5+, he lost to a guy that had 20 15" RF T1, thats not fair.
