Just ordered a 12" FI Q and a US Amps Merlin MD2D. Was just wondering if anyone else is running this setup or have any thoughts on it? I will be running this in a 1.2 sealed. Thanks ahead of time and hope everyone has a very nice week.

Hey Shawn or Nick, I've been trying to reach you guys for a while now it seems and have had no response. I sent my subwoofer in a while ago (more than a month ago) and I've sent out numerous emails and pm's to you guys about when and even if I'm getting my sub back and still no response. Shawn I talked to you a few weeks ago and you said you would check into it for me that same day and never got any news back. I thought this might be a better place to get your attention. I could get a saz-2000d right now for my 18'' BTL fully loaded Should i take the 2k or wait maybe for a 3 or 3.5k one. Would there be a big difference? Thanks

I've been told the Subsonic filter is NOT always accurate, with some parts on amps made in bulk somewhere in china trying to cut costs, they can turn out to be less accurate with a subsonic filter resulting in a 20% variance. I guess what im asking is besides looking at the Hz marking alongside the subsonic filter knob, how else can a person figure out what Hz the filter is really set up to. I don't want to set up my filter based on the knob markings thinking its filtering everything below 31 hz when it really is set up to filter below 28 hz. So is there another way to set up the subsonic filter without assuming the standard markings on the knob are accurate. Thx 4 readi…

I need help on sending in the sub and knowing what all i need to purchase for the recone. Its a FI BTL 12. Where it says Configure Recone SIZE-12 COIL-FLAT TYPE- NEW SINGLE OHM- DUAL 1 Ohm Basket-??? & Im sending in the sub. I need to know if there is some kind of cooler i can put on the sub to keep it from getting hot. its in the hatch of a 92 camaro RS. PLEASE HELP. I cant go any longer without bass && ITs runnnin off a aq2200

Hey i have a Fi BL 15" and i was wondering for my amp kit do i need to upgrade it. i havent yet to install the sub yet cause im scared my 4guage rockford amp kit wont handle the sub and might jack it up..will it..or do i need a 1/0 amp kit?? will a 4guage work or should i rip out the 4 guage? and if i need a 1/0 can i keep the existing ground cable and remote wire or do i need to change those out to?? thanks..and sorry for so many questions!!! -Ryan

I ordered 2 Fi Q 12"s on June 6th and was wondering if there was someone to contact about how much longer it will take. I am not complaining because I understand that each of these are custom made and take time but I was just wondering if its going to be more like a week from now or possibly longer..

I've seen a few different ways to wire a DVC sub in parallel. but which way is right? Here are a few diagrams that I have found online: Everything Car Audio: Single DVC Subwoofer wiring Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams, One 2 ohm Dual Voice Coil (DVC) Speaker Are either of these ways right or wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, this is Logan from ecoustics. This is my FI BL 15" Dual 2ohm. It is powered by an Orion 2500D @ 1ohm. I have it in a 3.5cuft enclosure @36hz. This sub is by far the best I have ever had. What is the difference between the 12" Fi BL 3" coil and the 4" coil. Will 4" coil make it handle more watts and/or make it louder. Or is it for cooling. If anyone knows the difference between the two please let me know. I am planning on ordering a sub really soon just need to know the difference and benefits of each.

P chamfer, cooling, flatwind, Hixm Coil, 3rd magnet ..... etc When are they necessary? ... anybody have pics to go along with it? My brother and I are working on and IB setup for his car. He really wants to use an older pair of rockford 15's, I'm guessing they are from the early to mid 90's. The surround on both of them is going bad and I am hoping that FI can give these subs new life!! I will try and get pictures of the sub, but am afraid that won't help you out much. So, I'm wondering if I should send the subs in or what, thanks for any help and if you could even come up with a price for a recone, that'd be great too. If you can't do much cuz i've given you almost zero useful information, let me know and I'll try and dig up more about the sub. thanks

Hey all, I'm thinking of buying a Fi Q with the cooling option, and was going to power it with a Kicker ZX1500.1 or an MTX TE1501D. Both are rated at 1500 watts, but the kicker is at 2 ohm and the MTX is at 1 ohm. Would 2ohm be better, since I heard that running the same wattage, a 2 ohm amp is going to be more stable and run cooler/more reliably than those running at 1 ohm. First off...would the MTX be a better bet? I believe it has an adjustable subsonic filter for 20hz-50hz, where as the kicker is non adjustable at 25hz. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I heard it was an important feature. Could anyone explain the reasoning behind this? Secondly, any opinions, …

Hey all, I had to make a new username I guess because of the crash..anyways The dustcap on my Q is getting very warm. I am using my BXi-1500d, which probably does an actual 1000w @ 1ohm. I have the Dual 2 coils. The gain is set 1/2 way on the amp, the sub pre-out is @ +6, which basically uses the full voltage (2.2v). I don't think I can be overpowering the Q. And there is a funny smell, not sure if it's the VC glue or the VC melting itself. What should I do, because I don't think I am overpowering the Q with this amp. Here is a video BTW:

I was curious about the universal option offered for the BTLs.I understand that it is so you can change between dual 1 and 2 ohm coils, but what are the drawbacks?I noticed it says that if you don't get the universal option that the motor will be optimized for the ohm load configuration you order.So does that mean that a universal BTL won't ever perform quite as up to par as one that isn't universal?Just curious, because I figured if their were no drawbacks then all of the subs would have them.Thanks man for any feedback.I really appreciate it.
