So the single 4 ohm IB3 is 4 layer, and the single 2 ohm coil is 2 layer. I ordered a custom dual 2, will it be 2 or 4 layer? Or 8 Or 1

I've tried searching for this, but to no avail, so here's my question: I am planning to mount an IB315 to the rear deck shelf in my car, but not in the usual drop-in fashion where you screw it in from the top. It will be mounted with the front of the woofer touching the wood baffle and screwed in from behind the woofer. (Maybe there's a term for this, but it eludes me.) What diameter should the cutout be? The specs say 14.125" for the cut inner diameter, but I assume this is when mounting it normally. I am mounting it this way to leave room for the excursion so that the woofer won't touch the speaker grille cloth. I am trying to make as many modifications to my car…

I am thinking of using a single IB318 IB in my trunk. My trunk space is 14.2^3ft. The vas of the driver is 381l which is nearly the same volume as my trunk. Is the IB318 too big for my trunk to run IB? I have read that the overall volume of the trunk space should be three times the vas of the driver(s) in an IB setup.

Okay so I'm going to recone my Q series to a dual 1. Its an older Q d2. I'm running a mmats d300hc to this woofer in a closed box about 2.5 cu ft. I love low bass. I want a recone config good for everyday driving and music. Mostly rap. Go with flatwind? Or copper? I want some leeway to have some fun so should I go with bp options for cooling? Enclosure reccomendations? About to order this shit tonight confirmation in the forum would be optimal

I have a BL 15 dual 2 ohm wired to 1 ohm. How would I find the resistance? On the specs page it says it is 1.5 ohms, but since I have it wired to 1 ohm would it be different? I am kind of lost as to what my target voltage should be. Sorry I am just starting in the car audio scene so pardon my noob question

i have the base model q18 and a 1kw amp that has been tested to put out 1200wrms. i have my q in a large box behind my seat in my truck and i can smell the coil a little if i blast it for a couple mins. the amp was set correctly with a dmm so i know its not clipping. so i was wondering if there was anything i could do to improve the cooling so it doesnt get so hot. could i add the bp optioned vent plug to the pole or would i need to sent it in to get work done to it. i dont want to void any warranty so if you could help fi guys that would be cool.

Approximetely 1-2 weeks ago, I decided to I needed a new sub. There was a big upcoming sound competition in my town and I needed something to beat a rival of mine that had more money, and more time, haha So I knew Fi was a good place to go. At this point, i was extremely focused on beating my rival and so I decided to go all out with my power options (JBL BP1200.1) and get an 18" BL fully loaded. This worked pretty good for the competition. Didn't do as well as expected, but we tuned the box way to high in a poor guess on our part of the cars freq. it was around 41 and we were tuned for 47-49hz. still, we managed to hit 141.6 at the headrest with 1400 watts of power, stoc…

Well i received my 12 inch q in the mail about 3 weeks ago, was packaged with much care and got here in a timely manner considering the holidays, thanks fi. The sub is in a 2.7@32hz box, sub and port back. The Q is being pushed by a US Amps XT4000d(1500rms@1 ohm), so it's getting all the power it needs. The Q gets fairly loud and sounds great with different types of music, but I'm just not getting the lows that i was expecting after reading all the reviews on it. Songs like soul survivor and the low note in hypnotize just aren't being played with authority. I know that there is supposed to be a break-in time with this sub, but the suspension has loosened up since the firs…

Hey guys, I just want to get some input on a burp box for 2 12" BL's fully loaded. This will be for a cross over and running 1000 or 2000 watts. Right now the system is up to 148.4 on 1800 watts with a some what music box. What I want to do is build the burp box so the subs are back and the port on the side. The info and input I need is the size of the box and the size of the port. Im 99% set on using a aeroport and was thinking 8" but would 8" be to small? Some people say the box needs to be big like 5 cubes and some say small like 3 cubes. So im a bit lost on where to start lol.

  16. Im gonna get 2 12in BTLs and I was wondering if they could handle 3,000RMS or higher and not have to worry about it, and the sub would be a daily sub but fully loaded otherwise.

New to the audio scene and was posed with this question.. Lets say I am trying to squeeze a box into my car, and the trunk fully stripped, can only accept a box that is a max height of 15.5". Would it be possible to fit a 15" Fi SSD in a box that was reduced to 15.5 inches tall? Wouldn't that affect the integrity of the box, being that thin on the top and bottom, or would that even work period? More in depth: Id have to bet that there would be a lot of sanding/sawing involved. I am in a predicament, as my sub faces up in my 1st gen mazda 6 sedan. The actual trunkspace has PLENTY of width, and depth, but the entrance inlet from trunk, or seats is not vary tall. As stated…

well ive had my btl in for a few months now, but now, i want something louder. I also want to free up some room in my backseat, just because my current box is HUGE back there. what im wanting to do is recone my 15" fully loaded to a 12", and build a better/stronger box for it. i plan in the future getting a second 20.1, strapping them and adding a couple of batteries. I really want to break 150 on music, would i have a possibilty with a set up like that? i know its all install dependent, but with a good install, could that be possible, without having a fart box?

I have a 15" FI SSD, i built a 2.4 cubic foot sealed box (before sub discplacement). Feeding it 870w rms, it gets decent loud, but everyone i show it too thinks it should be louder. One of my friends jl 10w3v3 in a ported box sounds just as loud, if not louder... Anyways, im fine with the output, but it has a really weird sound to it. Perhaps its rattling my back wall, but after listening to different types of songs i believe its something with the sub, but i lack the knowledge to know for sure. On say 3 6 mafia late night tip, its not so bad... if u listen closely u can still hear some off sounding sounds. On heavy metal, that i listen to daily, its a big problem. I cant…

39" wide 18" deep 22" tall 1.5" walls 4.5 box volume 76sq" of port 32" long port tuned to 34hz With available space, I'm tuned a little high (it's a big interior, peaks around 40hz)...and I'm lacking port area. Should I go longer on the port to get lower or should I go longer and wider and keep the tuning freq (or possibly let it raise)?

  24. I found this box on woofersetc.com the dimensions are: * 12" Single Ported Box * Height: 15" * Width: 30.5" * Depth: 15" * Mounting Depth: 11" * 3/4" MDF Construction * Volume: 3.00 cu. ft. And I wanted to know if this would be a good box for the fully loaded 12" BTL sub? Thanks for any responses.

i'm powering 2 Fi Bl 12's. i would run one amp per sub. these amps run 1550 RMS at 2 Ohms. does Clarion make good amps? would you recommend these? budget is also a key factor. and i can get these amps incredibly cheap. i'd run Rockford if i could. but i cant afford it.
