  1. im running 2 fully loaded 15" btl's D2 of of 2 ia 20.1's. each amp is seeing a 1 ohm load and it doesnt seem as loud as it should be or as loud as what i was expecting. my box is 9 cubes after displacement, and is tuned to right about 34 hz. im wondering if my port area is to large, im running right now with 157.5 in^2 of port area and used 12 in^2 per cubic foot when designing it. box is 12.73 cubes before displacement. this is in an extended cab 06 silverado and it pounds the lows dont get me wrong, but i expected it to be louder then what it is. i can always make a port plug but have never done one and am wondering if i do need one, what would would you recommend me to…

Hey guys I'm getting my plan's ready on my btl n2 18. I already have my amp to power it(hifonics for now). But I'm still deciding on the box plans. I'm doing a ported box tuned to 33hz. I want to do the box perfect and to spec but I'm having a hard time calculating the bracing and how thick I should make it for safety. Any advice would be appreciated thanks for your time

Well here it goes, I am planning on running 2 18" Q series Fi's in my daily driver(2000 GMC Safari). I need box design ideas for this aplication, I want it to be more aimed at sq then db. I am running a Alpine pdx 1000.1 to each 18 at 4ohms at 1000watts rms. The room I have available for the build in the back measures 50 inches wide by 34 inches deep by 21 inches tall. plan on useing 3/4 mdf for box. Pritty much need to know everything what hrz to tune it at, How many ports, what size ports, slot ported or round. Let me know what you think any ideas would be a great help. Also when are the Q's going to be available to order.

Ok guys I need a little input on a few things. First off, I was running two FI Q 15's off of a 40.1 @ 1 ohm in a 8cuft box ported to 28hz and blew one to hell and the other one's coil is burnt like a motha... So I was thinking of going with either one 18 BTL or two 15 BTL's off of the 40.1 @ 1 ohm. What do you think? Either setup will be tuned to 32hz. I was planning on modifying the current box if I go the 15 route, but if I go with the 18, the box will be around 7.5~8 cuft tuned to 32hz. This will be a daily driver setup.

Hi, need some blueprints for my 15 inch fi btl fully loaded. it is feeded with aprox. 3 kw. the enclosure is used for spl competitions only, perhabs a flared port is the better choice. The woofer is going in a 1990 volkswagen golf mk2 and the car peaks at 52-55 hz. I'm of course ready to pay for the blueprint. The max width is 37 inch, feel free to the rest, it doesnt matter. Please email or pm me or just post in here Patrick :-)

Hi everyone, first time poster on this forum. Posting all the way from Australia. Okay, So I'm in the planning stage for a system in the new car, and I've just started doing up some rough design/placement ideas on Inventor, when I ran in to a problem. I'm designing this for a Fi Q12 ported, and I know the recommended enclosure sizes given by Fi of 1.8-2.5 cf @ 28-33Hz. However, that is quite a large margin of variation for a recommended enclosure volume (0.7 cf and 5Hz tuning frequency can affect the sound a fair bit). As I'm not a massive fan of guessing/speculating about the best enclosure volume, I decided to pull out the calculator and the old loudspeaker design coo…

I'm just curious as to why the Universal option isn't on the subs by default? It doesn't cost any extra money, yet i do not see any disadvantages of having it done to a sub even if you do not want it. So... is there any disadvantage of having it even if someone doesn't want it?

Wondering on box size for strict SPL setup. Would it be best to use the 3 or 5 cubic foot box or some other size. Tuning will be 54 hz. Not sure on port size yet but thinking 150" per sub if I use the 5 cubic foot size and 90 on the 3 cubic foot size. Will be running 2 Sundown Audio SAZ-3000D to each sub off a 16 volt system. Willing to listen to suggestions.

Any suggestions I appreciate or input...power is a saz 1500d v3...thanks for your time

I got the box built a few days ago.. just wondering if I could throw the dimensions out here and you guys can tell me what it is size wise. He told me its around 8.7cubic feet and i think he said 32 hz is what its tuned too.. damn thing is huge, but here is the measurements 48 1/4th across, 20 1/8 height on the face plate, 24 1/2 tall.. the port i wasnt 100% sure how to measure properly so ill tell you what i did and if im wrong correct me and ill run out in the garage and re measure. I basically stuck the tape measure in the port, hooked on to where the inner port board stops and took that as my port depth measurement, which was 17", port is 6 7/8 wide, 18 1/2 tall, its …

My space is 39" wide and I can go 20" tall. How deep do I need to make the box (and how long AND wide does my slot port need to be) to have a net volume of 4-4.5cuft and a daily tuning of 30-33hz? Power will come from 2 sundown saz1500's strapped at 2ohm. Thanks

  21. Ok this is a repost from yesterday, but I never received any responses. So i am reposting in the technical section. I currently have a Memphis 1000D left over from a previous setup (4 - memphis PR 12"s) in a blazer. I have since sold that vehicle, but still have the amp and speakers laying around. After learning about Fi Audio and reading more and more about them over the past week. I am interested in purchasing one 12" Q to go under the rear seat of my 05 Ext Cab GMC Sierra. I want to use the existing amp to power the sub. If my memory serves me correct, it is capable of 1100x1 RMS Power @ 1 Ohm Mono (14.4V). I'm wondering if I should add the BP option to the sub to allo…

does anyone know a phone number or something to contact fi about a question? ive tried emailing and it didn't work, they ignored me. i ordered a fi q 18" about a month and half ago and i noticed it had a black basket instead of gray, then i ordered another one a couple weeks ago and it had the gray basket and many differences. and just over a week of having the newest one, there is a popping noise coming from the sub as if its starting to go bad already. any comments just let me know....thanks.

hey all my brother is about to buy a 15 Bl(d2, cooling) and hopeing to run it off a b120d(brutus) in an enclosure witch is about 3.4-3.7 cubes...idk about how much port tho.. i do have a couple of questions tho.. is the Bl ok to run at 1200, i know the rms is at 1k and i think it can take the extra 200 watts but i want to make sure that it can, can it? is 3.4-3.7 cube well enough to run the bl at, and if so how much port would i be looking at? ok with ported boxes is it better to have the sub more towards the begining of the port or further away from the port begining? thanks, steveyblack

I'm new to the forums and i was interested in purchasing a 15 inch bl and running it in a ported box for loud bass. I'm not into competitions or anything like that i just like loud music. I've been watching videos on youtube and the realm of excursion and i think these subs are badass. Now to my question, if i purchased one fully loaded 15 inch bl how many watts could i put into it and be able to pound everyday in a daily driver without blowing it and which amp or amps would be best for it?
