I have an 12'' Fi Q coming soon and i needed a box and i dont have time to do one myself so i went to the local audio shop to ask him what would be the best option. The owner actually held the loudest street car for two years in a row fyi....but I drive an f150 and i have a spilt rear seat. I wanted to take out the smaller section and have the box in that area so it wouldnt take up room for my passengers. His plans for my box is to have the sub face the floor of my truck as well as the port facing the floor. It will eventually exit out the side (meaning the port). He says that it will have the right cubes and hz. He says that when the sub faces down, it will shorten the …

Could a X10 with the BP power option be put in a larger box than .55cuft sealed? I have a box that is ~.75cuft and another that is ~1.2 cuft. Both sealed. Just curious how/if it would work in one of the larger boxes. With the BP option, what rms can I expect to run in the .55cuft box? And if poss what rms in the larger boxes? Thanks

First post here at SSA. Looking for some help, I need to build an enclosure for my new sub and am looking for some help on a design. I can give up 34.5w X 20d X 15.5 OD max. I'm looking to get tuned to 32hz @ 2.5 cubes. I am going to be starting this build in the morning any help is greatly appreciated. I can't wait to hear this thing come to life. Just looking to get some help so I can visualize what I'm building. I will mess around with some numbers on Torres and try to post them up. It will be going in a Toyota Corolla and running off a crescendo s1500.1 so 1500w. Mostly hip hop music is what I listen to. Also, I work out of my car and have to use my trunk …

I am running 2 FI BL 18's in about 15.5 cubes after sub and port tuned to 32hz. It sounds awesome for daily and really picks up the lows. I have about 200 square inches of port also. I did 147.3 db on TL first time, then a 152.4 on an audiocontrol meter saturday. Now, I was told I should make my box around 10 cubes after sub and port and tune to 35 or 36hz and it would probably meter better and still pick up the lows. Does this sound right or do you have any suggestions? Oh yeah, I am running 2 sundown audio saz-1500d's strapped on them now. Would it matter with a slot port or are aero's better? thanks for any help

I am looking at getting some Q's and I know that 2 12's will fit in my trunk sealed but I am not sure about 15's. How big would a sealed box be for 2 15 Q's?

Is this too big of a "enclosure and port" for a daily. For 2 fully loaded BTL15 with a T4k ......11.1ft3 (net) with 160sq" of shared port tuned to 30hz....after sub and port displacement subtracted I got a total of 8.6ft3 which would be 4.3ft3 and 80sq" of port per sub. Is that too big?

Hello, I'm lookin at getting an 18" BL, but my major problem is that my trunk is too short to fit an 18" sub in facing the rear of the car. So I came up with a slightly angled design that would shorten it by a couple of inches. My question, however, is if the basket of the sub will hit the bottom of the box at any part, since the sub is sitting at an angle. I drew up a diagram in Paint of the exact lengths and angles. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ok, I give up. I need some more direction in building a ported enclosure for my Q10. Right now, it has about .5ft^3 in a sealed enclosure and I really love the way it sounds, I would just like it a little louder (or alot haha.) But anyway, this is in an extended cab S10. I have to admit, its alittle underpowered with my Sundown sae-1000d because it wired at 2ohms. So it gets about 600rms. Any ideas? I would like to use tube for my ports if possible, not really a fan of slot ports, but i'm open to anything. Thanks, Mike B.

Hi, sorry to cross post. I just put this in the wrong section the first time... This i what i'm working with: 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Quad Cab Big 3 upgraded 2- 15" fi BL 2- kicker zx1000.1 3/4" MDF custom center console box with 5.6 cuft of airspace after sub disp, bracing, and port. Would love to have a bigger box, but space is LIMITED. No divider between subs/ subs share air space Single Slot Port is 15.5" x 3" and 14.75" long (around 32 hz?) Subs will be down firing and port will face up. Definitely SPL Questions: 1- Are the port dimensions correct for a 32 hz tune? I keep getting different measurements depending on the port calc I use. I think carstereo.com…

By the end of next week I will test the sx 15 with dual 2's, and the Bl 15 with dual 2s, and p chamfer. I will test them both in a 3ft3 enclosure tuned around 49hz. Which do you all think will be the Louder sub? I'm not going to post the results, out of respect for the two companies.

I've done a few builds in the past, but have yet to use your products. I work for a very large cabinet manufacturer in Minnesota and have a high level of skill when it comes to wood fabrication. It's been 5+ years since my last build and I am a bit rusty. Needless to say, I don't trust my calculations and I am hoping someone can look-over these to let me know their thoughts on the dimensions/specs for these particular subs. This build will be for (2) BL-12's each in their own enclosure (with both enclosures attached together @ the ports). Below is my dimensions/specs. If this is in the wrong section of the forum, I apologize. If a moderator can move this to the proper…

I was going to put 2-18'' Q's in a ford excursion until I heard ONE 15'' BTL fully loaded in a excursion powered by a hifonics BXi2006. The box was 3.5 cubes net @ 33hz. Let me say that it was loud!!! I want to run 2-18'' BTL's fully loaded on my new TE4001D amp!!! Would 2-15'' BTL's hang with 2-18's? Or will the 18's smoke the 15's like that? I really want the 18's and if I put each one in 5 cubes @32hz what will happen to my excursion?(Each sub will see about 1800 watts each.) If I use 5 cubes or 8 cubes per sub what would it do to the sound of the box? I want my X to fall apart from all the bass and I want it to be LOUD. What would the Fi Audio Guru's do...
