about to drop in a pair of d2 bl 15's loaded for daily to replace my d1 q's (to go a little easier on my american bass vfl 200.1, thing smoked on me before and cost over 300 to fix) in 8.2 cubes @ 32 hz. was pushing the q's to their limits, about 1300 watts each, and raising the load to 1.4 ohms (3kw at 1 ohm) i'll probably be giving the bl's about the same power, maybe a tad more. can i expect the bl's to be louder across the board? will they still pick up the lows as well as the q's did or will i need more power to get that low end extension?

Well i built a sealed box with .6cubes net, its not the output i was expecting. I plan on going to a ported enclosure. its going in a 2008 frontier and there isnt enough room to have the sub and port up. the sub will be up and the port will be toward the passenger side. 1. port to the driver or passenger side? 2. i read the sticky and it said .5 - 1.2 cubes is it .5 min and 1.2 optimal or any where in between there will work? 3. should i do a longer narrower port or a shorter but wider one? sub 10" Q amp - hifonics 1208 (1200w @ 1ohm) (yeah right lol) if i get 1000watts out of it her happy max 15" high max 11" wide max 12" deep

I have a guy waning to buy my SP4 so im considering an upgrade. the low end bass of the 29hz box has grown on me and i want it louder. my thought was to keep my 8.2 cubic box that i have my SP4 in and use that for a Team 18. I currently run a single KX2500.1 (2005 model) for my SP4. I was thinking of setting it up with a second KX2500.1 and buying a dual 2 ohm T18. then running 1 amp per coil, throwing my factory alt back into my truck and bracketing my mechman next to it. taking my 3 AGM G49's and isolating them along with the mechman into a dedicated power plant for the stereo and letting my factory alt handle my normal vehicle needs with a couple cheap lead acid batter…

Hello everyone. I am receiving a 12 inch Q for Christmas which I am rather pleased about because Fi woofers are class... I was wondering what I should do about a box, the woofer is going in my bedroom instead of a car but all the reviews I have read about the Q lead me to it. It will be used entirely for music, rock, techno, a little pop, and perhaps some rap to show off a little. The room is about 8x10x8 with a chunk removed that is about a 18 inches by 3 feet for a closet, so not a terribly large room. One of my questions is the great sealed vs ported debate, which would sound better in this application. The Q will be more than plenty in a room this size either way. I…

I had a box designed by chris at fishercustoms, and here is what he came up with: The total Net volume came out to be 1.8cu ft exactly, a 1.74" x 14" port tuned to 33hz, 13.53 sq in of port per cu ft, and I have a couple questions: 1. Is that too small for a 12" Fi Q? They do recommend a minimum of 1.8, but i'm worried this box won't make it sound good because the net volume is too small. 2. What happens if the box is too small? 3. Whats the difference between having a larger box versus a smaller box? Like having a 2.2 versus 1.8? Most of the videos I see online of this sub have a box larger than 2.2 cu ft, and their car is basically falling apart. Any help would be gr…

I am in need of two 15" recones and baskets with screws for my RE SX's at the moment, I will need two more at a later date. I need dual 1's with some slightly bigger tinsel leads, not the spl ones from the btls, if that is posible. I need the total price for all of that shipped to 47987. Thanks; Andrew

I'm going to run 2-18'' BTL's each in there own box with 2500 watts to each sub. I would like to know if 6 cubes each would be good for the power that i'm running or should the box be bigger to reach full xmax? And do you have to add the ports size to the size of the box or not? I know you add the sub displacement to the box so do you add the ports to??? Want to run 2-6'' Precision Ports pre sub tuned @32hz. Does this sound like it would work? Want LOUD DEEEEEEEEEP BASS. And what is the disp. of a fully load BTL? Any help would be great.

How are you guys/gals fitting such long ports that are necessary for the Q12 into not very large boxes (1.8-2.5 cuf). I am designing a ported box for my single Q12. (2.2ish cuf @ 32ish hz) I am looking at a 6" port that is around 30 inches long. Is everyone using slot ports with multiple bends? I am not looking to compete or steal any secret designs. I am just looking for suggestions of what other people are doing to port the Q12. Thanks.

  15. I am trying to construct a ported box for the driver’s console of a 2007 Malibu VLX wakeboard boat. I would like to install an Fi BL12 and push it with a Kicker 1000.1 amplifier in 2 ohms. The dimensions of the box I plan to build are as follows 18” wide x 18” deep x 18.5” high. I am going to use a PSP (Precison Sound Products) port tuned to 32hz. Is this box size adequate for this sub? Will this sub be ok in this environment? (ie. 100% humidity, maybe a few drops of water and a little bit of full sun). Any tips and advice would be much appreciated. I am use to building only sealed boxes, so ports are totally unfamiliar territory for me, but I’m willing to learn. T…

  19. I am about to purchase a single SSD 12" to pair with my Rockford Fosgate T1001-bdcp. The amp is 1 ohm stable, but the birth sheet shows only about 50 more watts when compared to 2 ohms. May I please ask whether you recommend going d1/serial to 2 ohms or d2/parallel to 1 ohm? I will be going with high QTS/sealed and cooling (personal preference). Thanks!

How much power should i put on a BTL 18 if i plan on running it for fairly decent lengths of time, 15-30min, at high volume. Is 4.5kw too much for that kinda usage... It'll be in a rather tight ported box

Sealed enclosure: Width= 14.75" Height= 12" Depth= 15" Which is said to be 1.27 cubic feet "net volume" I am planning on facing the sub upward toward the roof in the back seat of my truck
