I have 2 mags 15" that is about to be installed in my explorer. Each mag is going to be fed by a hifonics 1500. What kind of box should I build for these two sub? How big and what should it be tuned to. I listen to rap mostly so I was thinking 35 hz but how big should I make it?

I just sold my BTL and Kicker amp and ordered an SAE-1200d and 2 SA-12's and I still have a bunch of money left over plus I get paid soon so what do you guys reccomend? I want good mid-bass and very clear sound to go with it. I will be ordering a SAX 50.4 to power them. Budget no more than 300.

specs I saw on ebay: (but it now at 530 for a pair) Dual 4 ohm voice coils (2/8 ohm operation), 2000 watts max power, heat resistant design, 3" 4-layer aluminum voice coils, 300 oz Ferrite Magnet, Chrome Die cast basket, Fiberglass laminated non-pressed paper cone with rubber surround. I am wondering if it is a Audiobahn off shoot

Anybody ever hear of this company? All they make is extremely high priced speakers and a single 10, 12 and 15. They claim to build very high efficient spl subs but the cost is ridiculous. For instance, they have a 10" sub that only uses a 2" coil, rated at 400wrms but goes for $1,000 new, $800 on ebay or $500 if you are sponsored. Here is their site- www.acshockwave.com

I would like to be pointed into the right direction for an accurate hitting sub. I want something around 300 dollars. And do you think the subs should stay around 500 rms so its not just some head beater bass. I am thinking about a 4th order ported box. I have a Boston Acoustic 10" in a .7 cubic ft sealed box. I am pushing 300 rms with an Alpine M500. Do you think I should just make a new box for better sound or just replace everything?

103 Days Til I Order My Subs.....But What Subs To Order? "Well Gee Mr. Acidik, why start your search so early?" because I am insanely indecisive, it took me about 2 months to pick out my amps. (2 Sundown SAZ-3000) So this is what is up. I am looking for 2 subs. Not sure about size because I have always ran 12s. What is the sound difference like between 12s and say 15s or 18s? I need them dual 2, and able to handle 3000w each with a budget around $500 for each sub, or close to $1000 total. (hopfully you figured that out) These will be daily use so I want mainly an SQ sub that can take 3000w because I know it is going to be loud. This will be updated quite a bit with questi…

I'm looking to upgrade my stock system, just something simple this time. I'm keeping the factory HU, which has pretty good output, and I have a JL 300/4 that will match (needed balanced differential inputs on the amp to match the factory HU). Now, I'm thinking about the speakers. I want to do components in the front, and ignore everything in the back for now. I'll run the setup active using all 4 channels from the 300/4. The car is an 06 Acura TSX, and I'll keep the components in the stock location, which means up to 6.5" woofers in the doors, and tweets on the dash (stock fires into windshield). At this point, all I need to figure out is the speakers. I want to ke…

Ok i dont have a lot of room in my doors and can only put a 5.5 in it maybe 6 with some mod. I was thinking of going active off a sundown sax 100.4 with Seas CA15RLY and not sure what tweet so what would go good with that. Or would it just be better to get a component set.

I recently acquired 2 Crescendo PWX 10's and was looking into adding one to my car to help over all output. I have three ideas for setting this up. First the speaker/s will be put in a custom fiberglass box to fit behind my center console in between the back seat. The speaker/s will be firing towards the front windshield. I have Type R 6.5 components up front and coaxial 6x9's in the back. The addition will be powered by a 2 channel MTX RT2100X amp. Here are my three ideas. 1. Bridge the amp on 4 ohms and run a single PWX 10 at 280 wrms and count on the Type R tweets being enough to keep up. 2. Run a single PWX on one channel at 85 wrms and a pair Selenium St200's runni…

I currently have a set of phoenix gold passive components being powered by a teac 100 x 2 amp. The head unit is a JVC KW-nx 7000. A Fi BL 12 in a 2.5 ft^3 box tuned somewhere in the low 30 powered by a Sundown SAZ-1500D make up my low end. I'm interested in going active with my front stage and getting a better amp and components. I want a little improvement in sound, not really trying to win any SQ competitions. the budget is about $200 which I know is low, but I"m trying to plan a wedding and honeymoon and I think the fiancée is probably gonna kill me for even thinking about spending that much . Suggestions?

Could someone help me out with the baseline settings to start with when running active. This is my first active set-up and all of the settings are beginning to overwhelm me. I have a somewhat understanding, but was wondering if someone could help me get in the right direction. I am looking to build a DIY 6.5 component set to set up in my car after I deaden the doors. I was thinking of using the Mli-65 mid but wasn't sure on the tweeter maybe these tang bands http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=264-840 My real question was, regardless of components I pick, what is the best way to cross them over? I have a HPF option on the JVC HU at 55hz, 85hz, and 125hz, then my alpine amp has a HP/LP filter from 50-400hz.

what the main diffences and how do u go about both an active and passive system. which is more effective? which is more expensive? im runing polk db 5.25s in the door and db1000 tweets in the sails. i was thinking about amping them and runing new mids because with the tweeters on the coaxils and the extra tweets in the sails it gets alittle to bright. also i have a lack of midrange to mid bass. sould i just amp them and see how it sounds or replace them with a new pair.... i heard aa is putin out some new mids but what would u all suggest.

So ive been convinced by a third party to swap my fosgate amps for some audison amps and im wondering if i should still go all active up front. Im looking at 2 SRX 5 channels rated at 4X75, 1X160 @ 4ohm or 2X150 1X160 @ 4ohm (all my drivers are single 4) and i was planning on keeping my 301x fosgate amp I need to power pair front tweets, pair front midrange, pair front midbass, pair rear passive componants and center channel (9 channels) Ive sorta boiled it down to either All Audison active = 2X150 front midrange, 4x75 rear and front tweet, 2x160 midbass and center channel off the fosgate Fosgate/audison active 2X150 front midrange, 2 X150 rear, 2X160 midbass and center…

So I asked around on a few forums about my custom dual 2. Since I am adding a second coil, going from a single 2 layer to a dual 4 layer, I am adding mass and adding double the wire for current. I now have double the windings in the gap. So I asked if my Fs would drop a tad from added mass, efficiency would go up a touch from having double the windings, and if power handling would go up a tad as well as now I have 2 wires sharing the power, thus 1/2 the power going through each wire. I was basically told NO. Now I put some paint on a cone, and all you experts are like "DUDE you changed your thiele small parameters!" Are you guys freakin kidding me? And you all spend so …

right now i have a single 15 BTL, loaded, running off of a ma audio hk4000d. im thinking of getting a second sub and amp. i recall reading on here some kind of "formula" for the dB gain by doubling the woofer area and doubling the power, but i cant recall what the numbers were. theoretically, how many dB's can i gain by adding a second 15 and second hk4000d?

Whats up SSA! I have 2 Ascendant Audio Mayhem 15's running on a Soundstream dtr 1.3400 at .25 ohm (3400 rms @ .5 2200 rms @ 1ohm) I have the subs in around 6.2 cubic ft net and they get loud but im itching to get louder if i can... I can get 3 American Bass HD 15's dual 1's and wire to .67 ohm... But can i just make another hole in my box? Thats the most airspace available. Goals.. Hit 150 db (currently 149.1) Should i keep the 2 15's or get 3 ? If its a bad question/ idea input on that would be apreciated Thanks

A while back I ordered a custom recone kit going from a single 2 to a dual 2 coil, and I was wondering if there would be any noteable increase in power handling, Mms, and efficiency as well as a lowering in Fs since there will be double the coil... but I think i was mostly told not enough to be note worthy. Later on I painted the cone, and suddenly I was being told I would totally mess up the drivers SQ and SPL by adding mass and making the cone stiffer (obviousely mostly by noobs and tards) Anyway, Exodus Audio's GEN II Maelstrom-X came out. Basically the only change was going from a single 4 to a dual 2 coil. The added coil length was enough that they changed the power …
