About to put three 10" L3 D2 in a truck. The amplifier is a RF T1500-1bdcp with a birth sheet of 1150x1 @ 4ohm 1734x1 @ 2ohm 1885x1 @ 1ohm The L3's show 400w RMS. My options are wiring them parallel or series parallel. Can these woofers handle the power if I run the amp at 1.3ohm? Or should I go with the 3 ohm load Thanks !

  3. Planning on running two SA-15s probably off something like this http://www.sonicelec...-BK1300.1D.html in the back of a 2000 ford focus wagon. Would subs like these require an alternator upgrade or would they run fine off stock, and also if SA reccomends a 3.0-4.0 ft^3 @ 35hz ported box for one sa-15; around what size do you think two of these would require? And would a box that big fit in the back of a ford focus? Any help and suggestions on things I havent asked here are also appreciated !

I was just wondering why my 15in xcon coils were reading 1.5 when there a dual 2. i checked the reading at the amp and it said it was at .7 ohms. also when playing music my ohm rise jumps all over the place. it goes from .7 to 6 or 7 ohms. my main concen is that i wanted to buy another dual 2 xcon and i dont want one reading 1.5 and the other 2. also if these xcons come as 1.5 then id be running at .38 ohms which i feel is way to low. systems build: 15 inch xcon in 3.2 cu box tuned to 30hz. sundown saz-1500, xs power d3100 any advice?

Whats up...first wanted to say thanks to everyone on the SSA forums.. Very glad I found it. A lot of good info and members here.... now that I'm done kissing ass lol ..... I need some recommendations.. I recently built an enclosure to replace the old setup in my Eclipse. I built it to fit how I wanted in the hatch, and did not have a pre-planned volume. When I finished this thing, I ended up with: 1.62 cu ft Slot Ported @ 32hz 7.5" max mounting depth. I layed out both 12" and 10" cut out patterns on it, and have a Type R 10" temp mounted in it so I could still play until I chose on a final driver. I'm actually very impressed how the Alpine is playing in this enclosure. …

I'm getting close to ordering the 15" DCON and will be building my first enclose with my buddies tools and expertise, but I've been reading and researching just enough to be dangerous. I've been on carstereo.com, bcae1.com, diyma.com, and a few others. While the smaller drivers t/s parameters do lean in favor of ported enclosures (along with much antecdotal evidence) the 15" appears to be more suited to the sealed enclosure. Example, the Fs of the 15" is 33.5hz and the 10" is 29.4hz. I haven't researched every subwoofer line, but this seems to buck the trend, big time, unless it's an error on the website. My biggest fear in constructing the box is that I won't have any…

Hey guys, I've got 250 RMS to work with from my cadence four channel amp and I'm debating about getting an SSA Dcon. Does anyone know when the 12" Single 4 ohm version will be back in stock? And I listen to a lot of hip hop and rap, what do you think my best box size and port frequency would be for my likes? Also, does anyone know of a good box maker in the indianapolis area or a pre-made box online that'll work well with a 12" Dcon on 250 watts? Thanks a bunch everyone!

I'm currently tinkering with ideas for my front stage. I'm looking for a particular sound and I'm not sure how to describe it but here it goes.... I have a set of Grado Sr80i Headphones (which I HIGHLY recommend to anyone who loves music) and they have lots of....shimmer? on the high end. I want that sound for my car. I want the higher midrange to be pronounced, I want to hear the details (such as the rasp in men's voices) and I want it to be pretty loud. I have a cheap bookshelf setup in my room and it has Piezo horns in it that have the sound (as far as highs) that I'm looking for. The best I can describe it is airy, or wispy? A very exciting sound. So with that said, I…

I have a friend at work who has an older caprice..he had 8 10's crammed in the trunk when I met him.. I told him what I thought.. Not enough room for that many speakers. So he re builds with 6 10's. All kicker subs. He always comes to work bumpin and it sounds like shit IMO.. Long story short he heard my 18" btl in my Tahoe off a saz1500 and he realized he's doing something wrong and now wants advice. I would like to see if he could fit 2 BL 15's in there and he's willing to buy em but I had him give me measurements before anything.. This is what he gave me. W 46 L 32 H 14 He says the 14" is where the trunk latches and if he builds it taller closer to the seats that will…

I was at a car show for lexus vehicles today. I had a chance to listen to a members 1 jl w7 13 on a jl amp, i thi k it was a 1000/1. any way i just wanted to say that my 2 xcons blew away that w7 by far! of course my xcons were in a properly tuned and well built encloseure powered by a mmats 3000.5. i showed off the excons and once again i amazed everyone when they saw that it was only 2 10's doing all that damage. People were like what the f..k? Two 10's ? NO WAY! and im like, uhh hell ya it is, and opened the trunk and showed them off. I will never sell these bad boys, i love them soo much.

  20. I've done about 4 different setups in my single cab Toyota pickup all involving normal subs behind the sea,t but fail in the size of box, ports, and overall SQ. So now Im taking my DD 1508s out and putting them in a different vehicle but want something for my single cab still. I've tried shallow mounts as well and wasn't that impressed with it so I am now leaning on something that's gonna make good bass in a sealed enclosure as small as possible. I haven't done much research on mid-bass subs or speakers and was hoping for somebody to point me in the right direction. There is no way I am going to try and do anything ported anymore...it just wont work, something as smal…

  22. Any recomendations on a highly efficient 6.5" comp set, in the sub $150 range? My car has a factory Pioneer touch screen nav that I dont want to mess with, so just running off stock power. The factory tweeters suck, the door speakers are ok with decent mid bass, but cant hold up to highway speeds with the windows down. Was going to do LOC to amp and what not, but after 5k miles the factory system died. So I dont want to have a bunch of spliced wires back there during warranty period incase it happens again. I have a couple sets of CCX65s, but they really seem to want to be amped. Want something that will be half way decent on the stock ~20w or so. I could also just keep u…

  23. Hello I'm new here and have been into car audio for a little while. My question may seem dumb and maybe its because I haven't heard enough setups or any bad subs...but I'm wondering how it is you determine what a good sounding sub and install sounds like? Just a little background...I bought an Icon recently and built the box using the design on SSA's website and I think I did a great job for only my second box. The only two real problems were that I accidentally made the cutout for the sub 2 inches to the left in the center and it was supposed to be offset, and the second is that the port is somewhat crooked at the corner and is off by about an 1/8th of an inch. I think i…

Just received my 2 DCON's the other day, and couldn't help but notice the MASSIVE magnets on them, which leads me to wonder... Call me an idiot, but how does such a gigantic magnet (and all of the other high end parts used) only ammount to 300 watts RMS?? I see many other subs with SMALLER magnets (RF P3) that handle MUCH more power...?
