My homie thinks that two 200rms MTX thunders sound better than one 600rms sa12 What do y'all think? I'm pretty sure one SA12 sounds better because it will have 600rms of power to it compared to the mtxs with 400rms of power to them. Which do you think will sound better musically? The mtxs will be sealed and the sa12 ported and both powered by true rms power and same vehicle say a 99 honda civic same electrical and everything, which would sound better? Im gona go with the sa12 because mtxs aren't that good of subs and the sa12 is very good. Determining an answer will determine his decision on what to pick for his system. Two 12" MTX thunders on 400rms sealed Or One 12" …

amp for my 2 SI 12s. I need help finding a good amp for about $400 shipped. I bought 2 12s thinking my 1200 could run both. Later found out its only good for 1. I don't have room for another 1200w amp. So I need to step up to something that can handle 2. Any suggestions or help? TIA -Nick

So I have installed a set of Sundown-cs6.5 and running off a ppi 900.4 in my car and have found that the tweeters are almost too harsh. From what I have read this is a characteristic of this style. I have made adjustments to my current amplifier and have not found a way to help with this. Looking for advice on helping me tune these in. Or if there are other options some help in a direction it would be appreciated. very new to this i have just been tuning with my ear. I also understand everyone hears differently before M5 starts bashing me for this.

  8. Hi Guys I'm also planning to do the door speakers (With an Amplifier) in my car and I have never done this I've always only added a sub. So I may have a lot of questions and I'm looking for some direction. This will be hooked up to factory Head unit Via LC6i (unless directed otherwise.) My car has 8 total speakers. Front door has 6.5" speakers and then tweeters in the dash. Rear doors have a 6.5" at the bottom and then a tweeter next to the door handle. I have added pics below for reference. I have no idea what the depth would be or if spacers would or could be used? Not sure how to find that out. Now I don't want to go crazy but I'm willing to flex my bud…

Hello guys, I currently run a DD 9515 in a 3.8 ft" box tuned to 35 Hz with a 6.5" round pvc pipe. The port has a little flared on both ends. My amplifier is Incriminator 2.0. I have 2 AGM batteries and the big3 is done. No voltage problems. I am used to xcons, icon, and Fi btl n2. And I loved them all ! The btl n2 was my favorite : more punch than the xcon and still sounded good. I am looking at the SSA Zcon and at the Fi sp4. But I am open to suggestions. I found the DD to be brutal, it can play all the notes I want but it's "dry", not round enough. I don't know how to explain it. It is loud and can get low in this box. What would you suggest ? I would like to ke…

Hey guys I was just wondering what you all think about these 2 sets of component speakers, Theyre right around the same price range, ATM im leaning more torwards the DLS's since they have a shallower mounting depth and are a bit cheaper too. Let me know what you all think of them and wut U would choose out of these 2 sets, Im open to suggestions on other comp. sets in the same price range of about $220max. And if U have any links please post them as well. Oh and these will be powered off a USAmps MD42. thanks everyone.

I'm going to be installing my focal ps165 component set into my 03 tahoe. My plans are to use the supplied crossovers. I will be using a baffle and possibly deaden the doors in the near future when time and money allow. I have seen several installs in tahoes where they mount the tweeter right above the mid in the doors. My vehicle has room for that but came factory with tweets in the pillars. Not sure which route to take. Doors or pillars? I have read where putting them with the mid is best? I know this may boil down to personal preference but I don't exactly know what to expect from either.

  16. Well, I think I am leaning towards two sealed twelves now, instead of an icon or xcon in a large ported box. Since IA doesn't post any specs on their woofers, it is hard to model responses and compare these two woofers. If I were to put these woofers into an optimum sealed enclosure, which would be better? What I mean by better is which one would give me the lowest extension, and upper extension, and the best SQ? Sundown shows an F3 of 44hz in a 1 cu. ft. box. that isn't too bad, and should dig pretty deep, but I cannot tell anything about the LI. They are both rated at 600 watts which will match nicely to my amp. They are priced the same. They both have great re…

so,right now i have 2 12" kicker cvrs in my back seat because the box is too big for the trunk. i went to the shop to ask ab out getting a box made, he said 150. but he also said i should get rid of the kickers and get a 10" brutus, or orion, with a custom box and itd be way better than the kickers. so should i pay 150 to keep the kickers, sell the kickers and buy a brutus 10 and custom box for a lil over 200, or an orion 10 and custom box for a lil more than the brutus? i listen to mainly more rock, but lately ive been listening to rap cuz i like the bass. but still, i listen to way more rock. so what do you think?

  18. Hey guys, I've noticed some companies offer neo subs and there're priced really high compared to the other higher model subs they offer. For example I was looking at the D.C. Lvl 5 and 6 and I saw the D.C. Neos. They were higher priced but the rms was lower than the lvl 6. So I was just wondering what warrants the price mark up. Are they under rated and offer a lot of pros or something ? I also seen that fi audio Btl neos subs and they look hella sweet. And the price is reasonable. But yea I tried to search the pros and cons, and all I could find was the weight and I think cooling or something like that. Figured I'd ask I'm sure someone with a lot of knowledge would…

I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra 4 Door and the only thing that you can fit are 8" subs. I was looking at the Kicker CVR 8's and I am probably going to get those because nothing has a mounting depth smaller than 4.5" inches. I was really really considering the Ascendant Audio Assassins but I just recently found out the mounting depth is like 5.1" or something like that. So please help me with what 8's I can get in there, I want something pretty loud. I have friends wtih like 2 12's, and most of them have 2 10's....not really loud 10's or 12's but you get the gist. I have mostly only heard of the basic brands like kicker, jl audio and those types but let me know if you know any…

So I'm starting my next system build that'll be going in a Toyota tundra crewmax. So far that I have lined up is: Pioneer AVH4300 Rainbow Germanium 6.5 comps up front ARC KS125.2 or ARC KS300.2 for comps ARC KS1000.1 for subs I've been out of the seen for years now and I need some advice on selecting a pair of subs that will compliment the front stage. My old setup consisted of MB quarts and an single Alpine Type R 10'. This old set up was in a Tacoma. So I'm limited on space but I'm willing to give up some leg room. I'm not looking for SPL Competition nor SQ but a median between the two. Also being out in Hawaii (Maui) very limited to selection so I'm going to be d…

Hi, I posted here awhile back having trouble getting any output from two dcon 12 d4s in a sealed box. I tried them out in a ported box I had for my ED subs and there was a definite increase in output. But there are a couple of things I need your opinions on. The box is not spec for the dcons. Basically it's a 2.8 cu ft shared sub chamber with a 3x13x40 slot port which should give it a tuning around 28Hz. So it's undersized by about .7 cu ft from spec. Now the main issue. I have been running these at 4ohms off of a PPI A600 and while it sounds good, the amp runs VERY hot. Granted it always has, as has any of the Art series I've run at 2ohms stereo or 4ohms bridged. The oth…

I just picked up a set a focal components and was wondering what the seasoned guys on here would suggest. My problem is i dont have room to build large pods outside the doors to house the 6.5. Could i use like a 6 inch pvc pipe and seal up the back side of it and glass up a front baffle to mount to the door skin at the factory location. I have about 7 inches between the outer and inner door skins and no window interference. I want the best sound out of these without building pods outside the door panel. Is this going to be enought volume or should i go a different route. Thanks guys.
