Subwoofers / Speakers

At first I was thinking of getting 2 sets of Alpine SRP-13S but i decided i didn't want to cut holes more holes in my doors, so now i only want one set of components and I'm looking to spend around $350 max? I looked at Focals but they are out of my price range. So any other good sets? I'm looking for Very good sound quality but speakers that will still get loud so I can hear the over my 2 1250watt Subs, Any suggestions?

I was at a car show for lexus vehicles today. I had a chance to listen to a members 1 jl w7 13 on a jl amp, i thi k it was a 1000/1. any way i just wanted to say that my 2 xcons blew away that w7 by far! of course my xcons were in a properly tuned and well built encloseure powered by a mmats 3000.5. i showed off the excons and once again i amazed everyone when they saw that it was only 2 10's doing all that damage. People were like what the f..k? Two 10's ? NO WAY! and im like, uhh hell ya it is, and opened the trunk and showed them off. I will never sell these bad boys, i love them soo much.

Ok so my focal polykevlar components are finally dead, i got a lot of years use out of them, but now im interested in some new stuff, ive seen these mpyre mids all over but cant find where to buy them, can anyone help, or recommend some other components for a decent price, thanks

i have a friend that is trying to build a 4th order box for an old RE MT 15... soo are there any true specs for it? or is there another sub in the family that it can be closely modeled to? thanks.

Just thought I would let folks here know that the MJ-18M will begin shipping in about a week. I am just waiting for packaging. I had mentioned voice coil options and I plan to deliver on this. Im waiting on a Bl 12" and have been planning to do an underseat box for it. Im wonder if anyone has experience or insight with it tuned lower than 30hz. I really love the lows

Noticed today my gasket is letting a bit of air out, so when the lower frequencies hit it sounds really bad. What's something I can do to fix this? Run a bead of caulk around the whole gasket? I wanna do something to stop air from coming out but won't destroy my sub/gasket at the same time.

Goal is a stealth setup and enclosure needs to be small. Something capable of good output and above avg sound quality too. I would like to do a low-tuned ported alignment or a sealed in the .75-ish QTC zone. I have 900(+) RMS at 2 ohms or 600(plus) at 4 to work with. Will be built under armrest in a 97 Chevy Silverado. I realize I'm asking a lot, just looking at options.

Running off 500wattsx2 bridged @ 4ohms rear channels of a crescendo1000c4. All stock electrical system 1999 volkswagen passat (I might get the big 3 upgrade if necessary). Would these subs have trouble reaching their potentional with only 500 watts split between them?

I've acquired an RE xxx v3 with the xbl^2 technology I think its a 2005 version. I have just ordered a recone from Fi along with a 15" 12 spoke basket to get some work done in the trunk. I was thinking of putting this 15" driver into a 3.23 cu ft sealed enclosure. but I'm open to ported, displacement on this thing is like .23 cu ft. I am running a mmats d300hc (no subsonic, eq, boost, exc.) and it pushed an Fi Q to the max. in my previous setup. I do not doubt its power and capabilities of the amps control for this set up. I'm putting together a budget system in a Ford F-150 I have a custom box with .69 cu feet sealed available for 2 10" subs. There is a lot of options I've been narrowing it down so far I'm leaning towards the Sundown Audio SD 10 Dual 4. I am going to be running a Class AB Mono channel amp rated at 1400 Watts RMS into 1 ohm load. There restrictions 6 Inch mounting depth 300 dollar budget looking for Dual 4 ohm subs or single 2 ohm subs (Want as much bass as possible from a 2 10" subwoofer sealed enclosure) Thanks for any help with picking the right pair of tens!

So I ordered 2 18" FI BTL's and I'm trying to figure out exactly how much power these subs can hold.They say that their rated at 2000RMS but I have heard people putting 3000 on them no problem.The subs will be fully loaded and I was thinking about putting 1 Sundown 3500 on each sub.Is that too much?

Sucks that Mach5Audio is leaving the forum. Im personally a little bummed that their products wont be so readily available and discussed on these forums. I am in the middle of an install using their speakers and think highly of them so far. Ive already sent an email to the addy from the notice thread but thought Id talk about it here as well. Just wondering if the MLI65s will still be available? Or any of the other products that were listed? Id love to use some in another install and always planned on buying them here.

I would like to know, is this speaker strictly for SPL only, or does this have a decent sound quality? Please help, thanks.

I have a decision to make my choice is ether 4 SA-15s or 2 18" Z's. I have a Tahoe but I'm keeping my second row seat. I will power the subs with 2 crescendo 2k's(1 for now). My overall goal is to eventually hit around 145-147 on music and maybe 150 burb( I care more about music) . I'm not going to compete I just want a loud street beater. Also it will be tuned around 35-37hz. What does the community think would be better?

Is it just me or do more and more ppl just keep asking about RE Audio SE's? Is the SE that good for the price? Im not putting the SE down or anythign im just wondering..

I'm in the market for 4 new 15-18" subwoofers for HT and music. SQ is my major concern. SPL is important too but only if SQ is not compromised. Of those listed in the title which would you recommend and why? These will either be in sealed boxes with a Q of .5-.6 or mounted in IB manifolds. In either case they'll be crossed and EQed digitally so driver Q doesn't really matter. Efficiency doesn't matter either because brute power is fairly cheap these days. BTW, the Audiopulse is on a one day sale for $348 at PE and the AE AV15's are on their last day pre-order price of $219. So... I need help TODAY!! Feel free to make other suggestions but please explain your reason…

In the new year, I plan on picking up 12" IXL's and powering them off an Earthquake PHD3 (3000rms @ 1 ohm). This will all be going into a trunk setup, which will be my 139.9 bassrace machine for next season. My question is, will the IXL's be able to take the power daily?

At the moment I'm in the market for a new sub. I've narrowed it down to the ICON or a SSD. I read a really nice review on the ICON on DIYMA that fell into my power range. Now on to my question. With stated power which would be a better choice ICON or SSD+copper coil? Box is dependent upon driver selection.

What amps do you guys use when you need 6 channels of power for this set of speakers? Or do you mostly break it up with a 4 channel and a 2 channel amp?

ok guys, im looking into some shallow mount 10s for my truck. i have found a box that fits under my back seat for 2 10s. its sealed and has a mounting depth up to 5"s. air space is only .55 per sub sow hat do u guys think? i have found some mbquart 10s that will work perfectaly but i figured id ask my audio bros

Like it says...any thoughts on which is better? I can get either set for the same price for the 6.5" component set. This will be for my Jeep Cherokee system and whatever I get will see 100-150w RMS depending on the amp I get. I listen to pretty much everything but rap and country. I'll have two Sundown Audio SA-8's handling bass duty.

so i guess caseys zcon 15 finally had it. he has been feeding it 3000watts lol (never dropping below 13.3V) got a text yesterday saying the zocn was on fire and he couldnt get to it because it was in a 4th order in his trunk but he could see a small flame down the port. thank god it burned itself out. This is not ssa's fault so dont think any less of them! all there subs are top of the line! lol feeding it 750watts over rms for a year and a half. i believe he did a 146 sealed up out of the trunk with a single 15.. not to shabby haha IIRC, caseys doing 2 zcon 12s or a single 15" evil anyways, heres pics guys! I have a 1995 Honda Accord. I was thinking about putting in some tweets in the a-pillars of my Honda. I don't want to make it a guess and check scenario and mess up my a-pillars. Is there any place or can someone tell me how I can obtain these custom a-pillars or how to make them? Thanks, -Curt
