I got my Sundown SA-12D2 a couple of days ago. Unfornately I was too illl to installl it. Out of the box I was totally impressed with this driver considering how much it cost. The motor is too big to be rated at 600 rms. Anyway I swapped out my RE Audio SXX and dropped the SA in. The enclosure is 2^3 tuned at 32 hz. I found what I was looking for as far as sound quality. This driver has more of a musical quality to it than the SXX. It seemed like the SXX just wanted murder lows. This sub gives me the best of both worlds. It can kill the lows and still give you good quality lower mid bass. I'm running it on a RF Power T500-1bd that came rated at 762 watts @ 1 ohm. When I g…

One of my my Hertz HSK-165 tweeters came loose and I slammed it in the door... The housing cracked but it still plays. I was just wondering if there was anything I could replace it with that would work crossed at 3500 on a 12db slope? Replacement tweets are not an option. Don't need a lecture on buying authorized either. I bought these knowing there was no warranty.

Hi, I have a Kenwood amp KAC-9104d. According the manual it max's 1800W 1 ohms >900W 2 ohms 900 W 4 ohms 500 w I want new subwoofer's since I found out the ones best buy recommended are too weak for my amp, and after hearing kicker is a pretty weak brand. I'm not sure what type of box I want yet, all I know is I want great sound quality and some good SPL would be nice too. Any recommendations are much appreciated. p.s. I listen to lots of rap/borderline rock

I like my 12 but I want to be louder.I was thinking about 6 12" or 6 10" skars at one ohm so prob about 200 watts to each. Would this be a good upgrade cuz I really wana try the skars out

What's up guys I'm trying to look for some good looking 10's don't want to spend a whole lot but they have to be somewhat decent. Something along the lines of arc audios foose edition subwoofers in terms of looks. Gold, white, silver, gun metal are the colors I've been looking for. Help a brother out thanks!

I have a RF Power T500-BD the birthsheet is rated at 762 @ 1 ohm I want to run 2 subs in sealed enclosure 1^3 ft per enclosure. I was looking at the Audioque SDC2.0 12 its dual 4 ohm sub rated at 250 watts rms. I was also looking at the HDC312 which is rated @ 1000 watts rms and the Sundown SA-12 rated @ 600 watts rms to put in my 2^3 box and don't laugh I never owned Kicker subs before but I found a pair of CVR's for $150 with free shipping. I'm trying to stay around $250. The HDC312 is $260 including shipping and it looks like a beast of a sub to own and I'm really leaning towards that it.

I know its a noob question but: I have a single 12" Fi BL 12 in a 2.5 ft^3 box tuned to around 33 hz or so. Its dual 2 ohm wired to 1 ohm on a SAZ-1500D. I am wondering what 2 of the Skar 12s or 10s in the optimal box would be like in comparison. I know that based on cone area alone, it should be louder. My Fi is so much beefier though. My current box is sealed to the passthrough with port and sub firing into the cabin when the seats are down. Any new box would be the same configuration.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34766_Rockford-Fosgate-P3D4-12.html The styling on that bish is craaaaazy. I just want to know from designer's and manufacturer's how much thought goes into the looks department of a sub, or...any product for that matter. I know there's you "I could care less how it looks, it's all about performance" but to me that's almost never true. Those blue ass "HIFONICS" logos and smooth one piece dustcaps like the AA Havoc has all add to the final product. (Not saying you should buy a Hifonics or Rockford P3 or even a Havoc just for looks) So I just want input from other people. I'll probably get mad hate for puttin the Rockford link, but all th…

soo... i have since sold my 18" XCON and saz1500 since my alternator could not keep up at all. i will be getting a 320HP from DC. and maybe upgrading to a 270XP if that doesnt do enough for me. so, here are my plans: keeping my headunit (Kenwood HD545U) going to be using 2 SAZ-2500D's for which ever substage i go with. i know i will need to get a ton of SDS (sound deadener showdown) not quite sure on my front stage yet. i would like to stay passive. i dont have much room for custom fabrication. but i would like to keep my Hertz hsk165 components. maybe somehow add an additional set? if i go this route, i will get a Sundown saz100.4 Where i need opinions is my substage!…

Hows it going. i have a quad cab truck, have a box built that goes front to back for 4 12" woofers. It is 67" long, 16" wide and about 36" tall at its tallest I believe. Should i run JL 12w7s, the new Kicker CVR or VX (which is heavily pressed to me by the local custom shop that recently carries Kcker), Treo SSP or TE (or other model?) or pooooossibly the FI Q 12s. Let me know what you guys think. If i go with the 12w7, what amps would I need? Two 1001/1s ? any issues with those? My goals are 1. Loud and Clean. 2. a nice medium (55/45) of loudness, to musical application 3. a reliable setup that will sound good for time to come. I will be runni…

I've asked this a few other places and have not gotten much help at all. One day I'll learn. Anyway, I drive a small SUV. I absolutely love my Dcon, but the box just takes up too much space. I do plan on trying it sealed, hopefully in the next few weeks, but I kind of want to try something else this summer, just to play around. My budget will be around $200 or less. I've been looking at running three 8's, a single 10" or 12", or a pair of small box 10's. Not having much luck with the last one, except for the Fi X, but a pair would be a little over my budget. I currently have an RF Prime 500.1, but I'm not opposed to getting a new amp in the future (I'd like to k…

I currently have two Fi SSD 15's being powered by an Audioque 2200d. The output and accuracy of these speakers is amazing, but I feel it is time for a new system to toy with, so they will be going up for sale soon. Also, the box that they are in is slightly too large for my vehicle, so the configuration had to be sub up, port up. I am looking to do four 12's in about 6 ft^3 with a sub up, port back configuration. The only concern I have is losing the low notes. I absolutely love them and play a lot of slowed or chopped and screwed music. The 15's are tuned to 30hz and that is probably where the 12's will be tuned to. I am looking into four sa-12's, but am still kee…

Well lads I went to strip a friends walled install on Saturday as he want it rebuilt. It was installed by a "professional" installer over here in Ireland. Now the problem lies with the SoloX 18 Kicker sub he had. Its the first generation Sub made by kicker, when being installed the installer dropped a hammer through the original dual 1 cone, so it had to be replaced. since the sub is in the car it has been smelly, like Kicker is, so the installer said he would replace the cone. Now on stripping the car I seen the Spagetti of wiring, will get pics of this off the owner tonight hopefully to show you, but basically one run of 0, stepped down to 4 gauge, into a distro block t…

I want to build a 2way setup from Parts Express. I was thinking part # 290-307 Goldwood 6.5" and # 264-1006 Vifa 3/4" I was going to use one of their Dayton pre assembled x-overs at 2k Hz. It has poly caps and such, good choice? Its easy for sure. I wanted to build a IB stand for in home listening and then if they sound good put them in my car. I also need to find an amp for in home 4 ohm use, unless I'm not thinking of another way of powering them? Series, add something to the x-over, etc.. Thanks for all input. Greatly appreciated.! Ben

Couple days ago i purchased two bl 12's fully loaded. I also bought a aq2200d. Are these a good match. Would giving 1100watts rms to each sub be okay? Just if you guys wanted to no i have a 2010 altima, big 3, xs d1200 in the front, and my voltage does not drop below 13.5 when the subs are on. The box design is from tech support on this site. 3.2cuft tuned to 30hz. According to the site the bl's need to be in a box between 1.5-2.5 cuft, so im good on that. I currently have one bl12 on a sundown 1200d yea it blew out, never going back to the shop again. NOw for my second build i no what im doing. So anyway will giving 1100wrms to each bl be fine?

I have a little experiment I'd like to conduct. I don't wanna see any name calling, trash talking, or otherwise. I just want to see which you feel will sound better, not necessarily louder (but can comment on it) and WHY based solely on paper specs supplied by the manufacturer. I'm talking actual quality overall, what is the better sounding driver. They are all 12" subs. Here are your options, rank them in order best to worst: Option 1: RMS power: 500 watts Coil config: dual 4 ohm Sensitivity: 88 dB 1w/1m Fs: 33.6 Qts: 0.47 Vas: 3.119 cu. ft. Xmax: 10 mm Mounting depth: 6.73" Option 2: RMS power: 1000 watts Coil config: dual 4 Sensitivity: 96 dB 1w/1m Fs: 36 hz Qts:…

I am working on ordering some subwoofers for my new boat. I have limited areas and based on my rough measurements (I am going to go get more accurate ones as soon as the dealer has the boat inside) I should have about 2.7 cubic feet per sub before displacement (2 seperate boxes of different dimensions and I may have more like 3 cubes, but am working on the short side based on the measurements I have). I will be powering them with a Exile 2500.1 which puts out 2500 watts rms @ 1ohm (plan to run two dual 1 ohm subs so I can wire them to a 1 ohm load on the amp). I know the Q is 1000 watts RMS and the Xcon 1750. Will 1250 be enough for the Xcon? I have read such great th…

Unfortunitely I need to build a new home for my XCON 15. The current enclosure is 4^3ft net tuned to 32hz. I love it. The output is good and the sound quality is great. BUT!!! I need to get some cargo area back. After tossing around a few ideas I decided to sick with my XCON but build a 3.0^3ft sealed enclosure for it. I am really going to miss the ported output How much polyfill should I add in the enclosure? Will the sub still handle 1750wrms daily?
