Second version of this box. I broke the first one apart so this is the rebuild Andrew

On my last order from Impluse I bought 50 1/0, 10 8g and 10 4g. They forgot to send me the 8g. I called and left a message and within that day they called me back and shipped the 8g to me that week. No hassles whatsoever. I bought from Impulse atleast 5 times. Shipping is very reasonable and fast. I also use Impluse fuses and fuse holders that are dirt cheap. They look good and I haven't had any issues with them. In my build log that is all Impluse fuse holders. I apologize for the thread highjack op, just trying to be helpful.

Exactly. As stated, I could think of absolutely no logical use for it other than to pad Steve's pocket. That I understand completely and even commend him on it as he came up with a perfectly useless product that he can charge a lot for and net $$. I couldn't sleep at night doing that, but the goal and even some of the steps used to get there I can appreciate.

How the hell are you gonna do that? if you don't have clamp meters? .. So this test is already worhtless before you begin it.. If the DD wins this one i'll take off my hat for this one. My friend will have his clamp meters We are just doing a basic test man. It's not going to be in all professional That's exactly it. If the all mighty DD wins when it has the power disadvantage we will know who is king. No..it is not a definitive answer, there is no definitive answer. It is not black and white like that..the only thing that can be said is speaker X was louder then speaker Y in this very specific install. It does not remain constant at all what so ever . Some speakers work better in some applications..for reasons that simply is a waste of time to find out.

Assuming your amplifier is not a complete piece of crap, you could then just use a DMM as well. Just set it at 80% of its rated power. Not like you'll hear a difference anyways. If your amp is jack crap and can't do 80% then you shouldn't use it. The last time this came up I tried to think of a time and use for it and couldn't where there wasn't an easier or better way whether for noob or experienced user.

ohhh shiz. m5 steppin in with the smack down. anyways, as for musical ability of the subs, thats 90% box... i built a box for my single dd 9518 that was more musical and played lower than any single btl set up i've ever heard... same sub i burped a 147.7 with on less than 2500 rms. either way, this will simply prove that in this particular set up, one sub is more inclined to be successful in that particular scenario. the real test would be doing 20 different boxes, with power ranging from 1k rms to 4k rms, and seeing which subs hold up the best, put up the highest numbers, and are the most flexible in the variation of set ups. that would actually give you an idea of which sub is "better".
