Since Fi basically has one of the cheapest prices out there, for the product they offer, even with a little increase, its still cheaper than any other USA made sub. I mean I hate to see a increase, because I was planning on buying one in a month or two, but still, its worth every penny. Fwiw...I don't think anybody else in the industry is using all American forged steel..and I know damn good and well they are not using an American made 18" basket either. (That costs us about 3 times as much as the Chinese one) ...and we're still cheaper then everybody else, and we do it all ourselves.

This build will not be a rushed one.. I want to take my time, cause I rushed my last build. I have learned alot of stuff from other forums, but from the little time I have been looking at the amazing builds here.. I know I will be busy soon getting this beast running before any audio goes in, but I have also been working on some ideas.. It's not for sure cause if I can get to it I have been in contact with Mike Singer to design me a 4thorder for 12 12's.. I probably will be using some Alpine type R's (older models swr-1242d) for awhile until funds allow me to go further.. Mike said that using the alpines would not be a bad thing cause they do so well in sealed enclosures.. From what I have seen here, you guys are the 4thorder experts..I would like any advice or ideas anyone has.. Any ideas as far as audio is welcome. I have not ruled out using, DC, SUNDOWN, or even SKAR AUDIO... Not sure what amps I will be using either.. any idea? Thanx Guys Jay This is the Big Beast That will be the victim of my torture.. What are those amps out of the box? I wish I had monies, I want a 100.4. You got any broke repairable amps laying around? I'm sure you probably don't have any Sundowns, but others?

Still blows my mind that people support the 200% + profit margin...for inferior stuff...that sends all of your money OUTSIDE of our economy. There is no economy here..if you send the money out of the economy.

I still hope to bring it to a comp or two someday Posting pictures of really crappily located speakers in order to justify your own system design is a logical fallacy. Just because some other people have done stupid things too, doesn't make stupid ideas more valid. "If everyone jumped off a bridge, would you?" That said, I don't see the point in trying to explain why I personally have issues with your current speaker layout. You won't care, it won't make any difference, not worth the effort. If you are happy with it, more power to you. That's what matters and stop trying to justify yourself to us because, first, most of your justifications don't make much sense and second, it honestly doesn't make much of a difference to us as long as you are happy. Do your own thing and bask in the glory of individuality.

I learn how to use google sketchup last night and this is what i have came up with for a box. Hopefully i will start building it this weekend once i finalized the dimensions. its a little more than 6 cubes after port and sub displacement.

Amp Rack: Tomorrow I plan on getting some loops to screw down the wiring a bit straighter... Here is the a shot of the deck gettin' installed...unfortunately my phone went dead before I could take a picture of it installed which of course looks much better. I'll get more pics tomorrow. MR2

Now I want to build a box like the one below, and my questions are how do I calculate the ports lengths. dimensions are 14h x 33w x 35d Do I use a port length calculator and just divide the length(36") in half for both ports & make each port wall 18 inches long & 5 inches wide?

Hey all, hows everyone today!!! Finally had some time to work on the beast.. Port time.. This is just a trial fit.. nothing is screwdown.. With the rear seat upright..

Those Soundstream amps aren't cheap and really are no different than the old 6500d and 10000d. Guts wise. Sounds like you need research a little more instead of throwing out ideas for people to agree on.

Finally set the enclosure in the Tahoe, it fits!! Started to get the wiring ready for the run to the amp. Had to cut a pair of holes in the panel behind the seat for the wires to pass through. Put a ring of wire loom around the hole for protection. Cut out a couple of simple baffle rings for the front door mids. While Grasshopper was getting the doors put together and the seats installed I started on the amp wiring. More to do, but that's it for now.

Geez...all these youngsters with their first sytem a year ago...lol. Here's one of my early ones, but not my first...

Well I went and put the 6 subs I have at the moment in just to get a Idea of what shes going to look like.. I must say. DAM!!!

Got the enclosure covered over the last 2 evenings. Here are some pics... Bottom of the box, seam turned out fairly well. Grasshopper was like, "Who's gonna see that?" I said "Me!" You can see in this pic the feet/extension that I added to accomodate the wiring that will run under the enclosure to the amp. Gotta make it all look pretty. Wiring up the subs to install them. Used some 12ga wire. You should also be able to see that I used some 1/2" spacers under the amp to bring the amp up to the level of the front of the enclosure as well as it should give the amp a little more breathing room for air to flow around it. Thinking about making some filler peices to go at the ends of the amp to cover the wiring. One sub in, time for the second. Both subs in!! Next is just some random shots of the completed enclosure. Will be waiting on Grasshopper to do a little more with the carpet trimming before we set this up in the Tahoe and start the wiring.

Well I know this wont be enough of a update for some.. but this is what I got done today.. Bracing added. Started to glass the corners..

Got a sheet of mdf cut up today, so I can get started on the sub enclosure. Even got started. More in the next few days...

My very first setup which was August of 2010 was a 15" Fi BTL in 5.0 cubic ft box tuned to 36 hz. Amp was a Audiobahn 1500 that puts out 2200wrms at 1 ohm. I had it wired 1 ohm

I did alittle dry fit just to see how shes going to look.. .. This is just the outer shell..she has more layers to come.. View from the back front view.. I know the gap is ugly but that will have more bracing and foamed up.. With the back seats up so I can check clearance..
