  1. Ok, got part of it working.
  2. Are pics ok for now ? Same camera settings, S90 on manual. 6 3w LED's with 8 degree dispersion lens. This will do for now, the power supply really needs to be changed.
  3. I run 400wrms to mine and it does great. My box is 1.7 sealed and it performs to my liking. Great choice in woofers.
  4. I noticed that. But i prefer to get all the wire in the ring terminal with the welding cable, rather than having to trim some down with the CA cable. Seemed pointless. If I want 2/0 I will get 2/0. Welding cable still meets the standards for 1/0, IIRC. Getting pure copper, be it a tad smaller than leading CA cable, cheaper than CCA I'm all over that
  5. Yeah I don't think I could do 5 a foot, when welding cable and Knu are both cheaper. But it's pretty, i guess that sells more than anything. Its not that much prettier. But when compared to Kicker, RF and Memphis wire, prices is comparable. And Welding cable isn't exactly a fair comparison. Cause welding 1/0 is actually a tad smaller than most car audio 1/0, so that that into consideration, and isn't pretty for those people who like that. And you can get pretty wire for the same money. But $3 a foot for CCA seems a tad steep though, for us internet people anyways. Also, Kicker and Memphis wire looks very similar to the Power Flex, and they both have the same strand count, at 4704. Just seems XS Power wanted to get a little piece of the wiring market. Regardless, people will buy it to match their batteries.
  6. I just read a post over on techtalk. Where that tweeter has higher levels of odd order distortion- he is going to buy a different tweet! Two other things that were stated in that post are that zaph audio found the same thing, and that the aluminum version doesn't have this problem. Fwiw, Duane
  7. Do what you say and we're fine, however, it surely isn't possible for someone to have Skar inventory that didn't come from you so therefore you are the only one that can fix the situation appropriately. It is also most definitely by your actions it happened. Not saying its you, but surely caused and controlled by you whether you want that responsibility or not you've got it. I don't care to debate either, but don't go parading into a thread and defer all responsibility for a situation that is solely created by yourself and think I'll not comment. If it was your shot at clearing the air, feel free the stage is yours. Do expect if you try to slough this off on some woe is me story I'll call you out on it.
  8. No the people of SSA believe Kevin is crap, he is not. HE was not a dealer he was undercutting SSA which is bad. Ohh, so hes not an actual dealer then? Makes sense, he offered me 295 shipped for two VVX12s. I looked at the FI Xs and they dont look like they would be on the same level of the other ones. On Fis site they claim they are their entry level subs. Exactly the issue. Extremely shady, extremely bad for the industry. This is identical routine that happened with a few other brands in the past including one of the worst all time RD, who we were smart enough not to be connected with them. I hope Kevin is not repeating that model. Not saying this is what Kevin is doing; But the issue in the past has been that there are so many of these brands that show up. They start off with a really bad track record, try to run from it and pretend nothing is wrong. Quickly followed by a sea of kiddies that call them selves reps running around the net pushing the crap out of a product with the same bullshit approach of the production is the one-size-fits all answer to EVERY install and every need regardless if it is even remotely close to what the customer wants or needs. It is the same show, just different actors. Aaron just summed EVERYTHING up, perfectly. In the last few weeks I've seen numerous people calling themselves skar reps (thinking their hot shit or something) pushing skar products for every application known to man. You could ask them if its good for a quasi-eighth order bandpass and they would say "Yes sir!" It's really sad to see people that clearly don't know what their talking about trying to sell something, it's pure fail, and it's an insult to other manufacturers that strive to make a good a product with good customer service.
  9. I'd rather buy a used quality product then a brand new lower line. I've bought used Fi BLs, used SSA XCONS, etc.
  10. I would suggest staying away from skar. My experiences with them are terrible. Customer service was seriously lacking, trying to pull a fast one on me and forgetting my order multiple times among other things. The driver isn't at all anything to be impressed by. The output of the driver isn't all that great and the sound it produced was not to pleasing.
  11. And your the one always gargling kevins load. The guy has proven time and time again he's trash.
  12. I'm surprised Skar has its own forums here and SSA sells Skar subs even though most people of this forum have a very low/negative opinion of the owner and the subs.
  13. Seriously, this crap is still going on? Had to ban another for using MY DAMN SITE to pm for sales. Really sad, really old, and I have zero tolerance for it.
  14. I always make things harder then they need to be...
  15. I know people like pictures so...... Haven't decided if that will be the final mounting place for the display. MS8 and Eclipse amp will be mounted in this: May try smoothing it out and doing a piano finish later, or not. Started the bases for the kicks, Have to wait until all the drivers show up before I can progress.
  16. 1 point
    and happy again...
  17. 1 point
They also make me VERY VERY VERY happy....!!!
  18. well i got a vvx-10 tune to 30 herts and it gets low and loud off of a 1000 watt amp, so if you could get a bigger amp i would due to the vvx-10 seems to me it can take more then 1000watts. So if your going to rock 12's i would gt more then 1200 watts
  19. i vouch for this guy on getting your skar subs
  20. I have yet to have a bad experience with Kevin. I have the utmost confidence in him, I am not nutthugging what-so-ever, every single transaction I have had with him went smoothly and he responded in a timely matter. The Skar VVX-12 is a very nice woofer at a very good price, it may be made in China but many other woofers are too. I love SSA, but it's sad to see when one experienced person hate on it all of the newer guys start hating on it without knowing the full story, regardless if it's true or not. Anyways /rant.
