Black list, shady list ?
2 pointsIMO the most obvious reason a thread like this won't really work is because, as Ryan mention, it's not very difficult for someone to change their IP or screen name and do the same, and there is already a feedback section to air out dirty laundry. If someone is not concerned enough about a transaction to search for a screen name and locate a bad feedback thread, a blacklist isn't going to help much either. Not to mention 9.9 out of 10 times once someone is "caught" as a scammer or has bad feedback left for them, they won't trade under that same name again. So it's going to be filled with a list of names of people who aren't trading under that name anymore anyways. As Aaron mentioned, the amount of scammers here is extremely low due to the nature of the forum atmosphere and general positive attitude of the user base. There are other forums where it seems there is a large percentage of transactions which have some sort of problem. However, it can happen to anyone on any forum and unfortunately there isn't a lot that can be done to stop it. There is a long list of people who have had dozens of positive transactions, only to end up leaving a bunch of people with empty wallets and no product. It happens. It sucks. There's not much, on a forum basis, that can be done to stop it. The mods aren't police. We're janitors. We don't have the capabilities or the information to stop scammers or help those who were scammed, and a "black list" isn't going to stop scammers. With all of ebay's supposed precautions, they still have scammers. The point is, in online transactions bad things are going to periodically happen. Be thankful it happens as infrequently as it does on this site. For those that have been scammed, it's unfortunate.2 points

zcon 15 box last few question. please help!
You can find the displacement of each corner brace in cubic feet by: (L*x^2)/6912 where x is the width of the corner brace, and L is length of the brace. Assuming measurements are made in inches. If your wondering how I came up with that: I used pythagoras theorem with a and b being equal, while c is the width of the corner brace. a^2 +b^2 = c^2 rewritten since a and b are equal: 2a^2 = c^2 a^2 = (c^2)/2 a = [(c^2)/2]^0.5 = side lengths area of triangle = (1/2)*base*height Our base and height are equal. so (1/2)*a^2 = (a^2)/4 = area of triangle. Volume would be: [(a^2)/4]*length of brace. So: (L*a^2) / 4 would be the volume in cubic inches. Convert to cubic feet by dividing by 12^3 or 1728. (L*a^2)/69121 point

Q12 to replace Peerless 830500 in Linkwitz Thor?
You would want to select the HQTS option as it is optimized for sealed. It takes out extra material out of the inside of the motor to tame things down to make a bit more of a linear response instead of having a peak due to un-necessary motor force. 50Hz crossover point should be great and you should have no issues using your current enclosure. It should be significantly louder, and you will run out of surround before you bottom the woofer out .1 point

2004 Nissan Sentra 2way + sub
1 pointEnclosure for ICON i think it was 2.5 cubes @ 30hz test fit can still access subwoofer amp while box is in the trunk. also, you just have to remove the box to get the space out. First time wrapping a box. it came out ok, but i'd like to redo it someday. ---------------------------------------- Thats it, thanks for checking it out.1 point

1 pointNice, I went the cheap and easy route. $20 worth of pine and some hardware. The difference of course being the movers already broke mine by standing on it and since then I haven't bothered to repair/finish the top so it's starting to look rather tired. The stainless isn't nearly as pretty atm either....but damn does it cook some good eats. The accessory in the middle of my table was a wee bit more than $650 and in reality I wish I had the difference back but I'll still argue it is by far the best kitchen implement that Viking has ever made.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP
1 pointInterview went well, and they'll call or email me on the 6th if I got the position; kind of an ominous date but who am I to complain.1 point- Black list, shady list ?
1 pointThe mods have no control over people getting scammed. We can stop someone from posting or move, delete, and close things, but that is all. We can not keep people off the site. They can easily change IP and their SN and do it all over again. You haven't seen it too much here though because we don't tolerate any BS and most of the scammers are bullshitters and weeded out quickly. There are some instances though where even members with skarred reputations still go about their business. Precisely.1 point- slamology 2012 ?'s

1 pointOver the number of years, SSA as a forum has had very little issues with members who are scammers in comparison. I will leave it at that.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP
1 pointDid the aliasing stuff make sense to you? Basically you are undersampling which means there are more than one way to connect the dots and analyzers (your eyes are one btw) pick the easiest path and not more complex assuming the sampling is good enough. In the case of the camera what it is recording is actually what is happening AT THAT FRAMERATE which means your eyes see the truth, the truth here though is that you aren't sampling fast enough :>)1 point- slamology 2012 ?'s

1 pointI'll be there with the team IAK crew. To find us, look for a blue truck that skip every beat, a red van that's constantly smokin coils, A cavalier with foam seeping out the windows, an suv with 55 kids standing by it and The skinny ass white guy makin people laugh all day..1 point- Any AA questions.
1 point- can someone sketch me up a plan for a box??
Okay, here goes it. Got you a plan all drawn up. Even though your max dims give's you 6.2cuft gross on that one calculator, that was without figuring driver, bracing and double baffle displacements and also most likely without using the minimum port area that's calculated for that sub which is 102sqin. Using the info you gave, the double baffle, bracing, woofer displacements and the minimum calculated port area of 102sqin yielded a box which was 34"x17"x25.25". Too tall for the max dimensions you gave. So I adjusted the port area down to 77.5sqin of port area which yielded exactly your max dimensions 34"x23"x17". So it's that size, tuned to ~34hz with ~4.5cuft NET internal volume, tuning without the bracing in the box comes to ~32.5hz. I gave those figures the ~ cuz there's still a little space to play with on bracing from what the model shows, which I simply showed as 1.5" dowel rod since it's easy to get, use, and you said you wanted simple. Without knowing exactly how that sub looks inside that enclosure it's hard to figure out exactly where the bracing needs placed, so I figured you can handle that. Now, onto the jollies. Here's a picture depicting the dimensions as a cut sheet. It doesn't show the internal baffle for the double baffle which the dimensions for that are 26.75"x15.5" which I think is easy enough to understand. BTW ignore the orientation (height, width, etc) you see on the cut sheets, that's just the default layout on that. Now, here's some shots of the enclosure sketched up with the dimensions on it with one side pulled back to reveal the internals for dims. And, finally, here's a few of the enclosure as it a finished product. So, there ya go. Hope this helps you on your venture. I do agree with shizzzon, if you don't get this thing properly braced up with single thickness walls that thing could possibly pop a seam or a panel, but I think you can handle this.1 point- SAE-800D / 1200D / 50.4 Prototypes
No this one will NOT have fancy crossovers -- the old one did and it pushed the cost up too much and there simply weren't enough buyers for it. Will you/can you offer an amp without any crossover built in for those of us running active processors looking for inexpensive amplification?1 point - Welcome to the IHoP
