  1. Okay, I guess I will put this here, our Friday and Saturday evening plans. Me and momma chop, along with our munkchins, have been putting our efforts into helping out team mates out from out of town and those local who are a tighter budget. We plan on having plenty of sleeping room, as well as food and drink for the weekend. We will have some breakfast junk food in the morning and cookout stuff for the evening. I will be happy to go to the fairgrounds for registration with everyone Friday afternoon. I now there is some other events already planned, such as the get together at Dave and busters up north. We will head home though Friday evening and fire up the grill for whoever would like to swing by. After some grub we will probably go over to the strip for a while and chill at tru. Saturday evening will be about the same schedule I am assuming. Heard there is some spectator coupons floating around. Any additional info on these would be great. We have a few team mates and supporters coming, who definetly will appreciate the discount. If all show, who has said they would be in attendance, do show, we anticipate about 65/70 Team IAK Audio teammates, friends, family, and supporters. I am pleading my case for a early.day off for Friday....sorta gotta wait to see what the boss man says.
  2. Just started my driver safety program. This fucking sucks.
  3. 150dbs +, & below 30hz, that is sweet!
  4. The samples arrived while I was out of town -- back now and on to the photos ! Weights : 10" 12-spoke : 1.7 lbs 10" Sundown : 4 lbs 12" 12-spoke : 2.3 lbs 12" Sundown : 5 lbs 15" 12-spoke : 3.4 lbs 15" Sundown : 7.9 lbs Not a finely calibrated scale so within a few tenths. * THICK rim -- no more cracked rim with over-tightened screws or with a super heavy motor. * THICK base -- no worries about bolts pulling through even with motors 2-3x heavier than we use now. ----- Still awaiting our new cones and surrounds to arrive... then we can do some building and show off what these can do ! ----- Mocked up on a motor with our new spacer ring... very similar to the Z v.3 18" spacer but the ID matches our new frame base and this one is a bit thicker to allow a bit more air flow as the new frames have more displacement potential. The same spacer works on all sizes 10/12/15 as well. * Inner air passage on spacer * Outer air passage * This is a 12" frame and motor mock-up; proportionately looks alot like the SA-8 v.2
  5. this video is a little outdated, they no longer use UPS, now its fed ex.. so when its shipped you will receive your tracking number then, keep inmind this is world finals season... and they are also moving whorehouses from what i understand . so its very CRAZY over there. stay calm its worth the wait
  6. I like the calculator, but where is the blood? It is October you know and I think you are teasing me about the blood!
  7. SUre wish I was able to come out and support you all. Good luck to all you guys!
  8. thats all i use on my sub stage is 12ga.
  9. Have a safe trip Steve, and we wish you the best of luck!
  10. Oh come on, the drive from KC to Wichita is EXCITING. You pass A reservoir.

If you can fit a ported wall, stick with a standard wall design. For an install where being clear is a priority, I have never liked bandpass.
  12. thanks. ive just been so broke lately i need to step up my game lol You have one badass build man. I'm sure that you have a lot more in store.
  13. i placed 2nd in 139.9 bassrace at the show with a 26hz song
  14. I'm diggin your Taco Get some more power!!!!
  15. I'm glad that Adam Greenberg got his at bat! Too bad it had to be against a knuckle baller, but I'm sure it still meant a lot to him.
  16. Wheels on the bus go round & round.......lol
  17. If its a RJ11 cable, its all the same.
  18. I would just like to say, WOW holy basket batman!
  19. Perhaps I should add an excerpt on vent mach. For now I'll just say that vent mach / port speed is the speed at which air is being excited in the port. If it's too high it causes port noise, and port compression. The more port area you have, the lower the port speed will be--generally (I say generally because changing the tuning frequency also effects this speed). What affects vent mach? port area, tuning, and a driver's ability to displace air. It's calculated from a driver's t/s specs, power, tuning, and port area. So port area isn't dependent on enclosure volume, sorry 12-16 rule.
  20. Hope she shaves, I don't like hair in my cherry pie!
  21. You're just over thinking it, I use 12g for pretty much everything. Plus fitting anything bigger in the sub woofer terminals is just a pain in the ass.
  22. You could use 18 awg, 16 awg, 12 awg, 10awg. It doesn't really matter unless your amplifier is an extreme distance away from your subwoofer. You will see no benefit using 10 awg vs 16 awg. Again, for speaker wire, it doesn't make a measurable difference using OFC or CCA. Use whatever you would like. If your wire burns up, its too small. Otherwise it's completely fine. Mistake me if I'm wrong, but more heat creates more resistence, in a dumb down version yes?
  23. im amazed by this. not that i would complain but what's the reasoning behind higher speed limits? You've never been to the barren wasteland known as Texas have you? 85 isn't fast enough.
  24. I like the Knuconcepts 10 gauge ofc speaker wire. If you have them strapped and only one set of wire coming out I would use atleast 10 guage. I would never use 18 or 16 gauge for any real power.
  25. Good luck at finals Steve! and yes, either way this BEAST is LOUD!!!
  26. Yay! Just finished my application for Nissan Technical Center North America! God I need a job.
  27. Quent is amazing help isnt he? You are a good dude quent and very knowledgeable. Thanks for the help once again that you gave me!

its not to hard if you do a little research, and will only spend probley 50 bucks and the stuff you need and will sound way better than some prefab one for over 100
  29. Online, or at a hotel? Online. Have until 10/23 to complete or they suspend my license Who the fuck has ever had a functioning fax machine in their vehicle?
  30. Congrats Steve!! So, you recone 1 sub and gain 1.5db. Recone the other 3 and you'll be metering near 166dbeeez!
  31. You did ask for our thoughts..... Just because you measured something, doesn't mean you measured something meaningful.
  32. Technical? Are you kidding? I only asked you for the parameters of the install. You can't shop for subs without a box, this is exactly the same. The only thing that is making this difficult is an OP that is too stubborn to actually post helpful information so that we can point you in the right direction. From your goals earlier a pair of 6.5's and some tweets won't fill them, not even close. If you are too lazy to spend some time helping us help you there isn't much we can do.
  33. Everyone needs to bug David to come down for finals. He's got sand in his vagina & is afraid traveling will scratch & rub it raw.
  34. What is this? And then this..... Metered in the kick, outlaw. 51hz.
  35. So, something that a lot of people of mix feelings about, a distance test. Though it is not 100% way of telling how good/bad the sound is, it should be able to give you guys an idea. Overall, I could not be any happier. So, here is my first distance test. With minor eqing.
  36. Apparently that car runs on stupidity since they covered the fuel fill door.
  37. mount your speakers to the outside of your vehicle. That's the easiest and best way to be heard from a long way away outside of the vehicle.
  38. M5 would be my first choice for helping the OP. He doesnt need much info either and can hook this guy up with a hella hard hitting system. great advice!
  39. There's member here called //m5 and he's really big into spl stuff, you should send him a pm.
