  1. Even if it were a few bucks more, isn't it better to support your community forum. The forum is free for people like you to join and learn. Give a little back....
  2. nothing wrong wt a lil brand loyalty. Exactly, difference between us and most, is we do not have nut huggers, we have return customers.
  3. Unfortunately that requires that you assume that without a shadow of a doubt that your more expensive "quality" product will not fail and also that the less expensive "shitty" product WILL fail. So...if your "quality" product does not fail, and neither does the "shitty" product in fact fail then...geez you'll feel like a jackass. Hell, if both the "quality" and "shitty" product both break, you'll still feel like a jackass. God forbid your "quality" product should fail and the "shitty" product last...that would be a shame, wouldn't it? Moral of the story: Price indicates next to NOTHING about a product. Also, take care of your stuff, no matter how "quality" you feel like it is, or you might just end up feeling like a jackass. I always find it funny when I see a topic on another site and it is a comparison topic of something we sell and something someone else sells and they almost always go with the cheaper product from the other site based on price alone. We lose countless sales because we don't offer free shipping on many products, but what most do not understand is that if we did, we would be losing money and that is exactly the opposite reason we work so many hours on this for so little in return.
  4. You pay for quality. When you buy quality, over time it'll break even or actually be cheaper than having to buy multiple shitty products.
  5. We just had a Mayhem we shipped get a broken basket. I do not understand how they can break something that is crated with 9/16" thick panel on top and bottom, foam lined and braced with 2x4's. Makes no sense whatsoever.
  6. just wondering why you say that? they are both right around that wattage (2250 vs 2500). And we all know they can handle more than that if need be.
  7. average person just wants some mid bass bump between there tweeters and sub stage. They dont want to get deep into the science of it all which would most likely sound better. OP has seen this brand get good amount of reviews and wanted some comfort in his choice before pulling the trigger. OP the chain is only as strong as the weakest link, Since its your car you do whatever you think is best for you they are also your ears so again do your setup however you want if and when you think theres room to improve start doing a lot of reading.

The driver is built to handle more power and underrated. It is used as a marketing technique. They built a stronger driver, rate lower, then make videos of testing with more power and people are fooled into thinking it's better than it is because it can handle more power than it's rated for. It sells product to the ignorant and misinformed.
  10. guess I'm halfway there, I said green hammer.
  11. They both are great subs. I had a pair of 15's of each and the only difference was the sp4s were 1 db louder. Or as equal as i could make it. They both sound great everything else was pretty much even.
  12. Either will be great, flip a coin! Literally Both subs are amazing and with either one you can be proud to say you have one of the best subs on the market today. From a Customer service standpoint the Zcon hands down. My next build will be SSA
  13. WTF it showed it as one continuous long page. Wanted to cleanse the page of that awfulness.
  14. Here are some quick looks at some of our work. I will try and get more pictures up later for everyone. Designs Basic enclosures Raised logos Again, sorry I don't have many pictures on this computer, but I will try and find some images of some of our more "interesting" builds over the years.

SS price might be better (haven't checked), but Don's "price" also comes with an extremely methodical system for achieving your goals with the least but most effective amount of material and an extremely detailed and comprehensive plan for deadening the vehicle, applying the product, etc. So while unit to unit the price might be cheaper, following Don's comprehensive plan might allow you to use less material than if you were to "plan" it out on your own which would be cheaper in the long run, plus you have one of the most knowledgeable guys in the industry detailing a plan specifically for you, your goals and your budget. Don doesn't have a cart checkout system on his site for a reason. He wants to have that conversation with the customer, to help them establish goals and a plan for achieving those goals. All in all I would say Don has the best bang for the buck, all things considered.
  16. yo, picked up some 12" subs for my ride.
  17. Also, take care of your stuff, no matter how "quality" you feel like it is, or you might just end up feeling like a jackass. I agree with you however I think I wasn't clear enough. I was not insinuating that the higher the cost, the more quality a product is. I was insinuating that more often than not a higher quality product is not going to be the cheapest. I do agree that researching and finding the highest quality product (within the law of diminishing returns) then assessing price would be the wiser route .
  18. Everything is custom made to the owner specs.
  19. There is an additional spider placed on a different landing on the basket. This can help with possible coil rock at extremely high levels, as the basket the SP4 uses has a ton of clearance. The SP4 does not have a coil rock issue, but for a metaphor; think about a po-go stick as your jumping up and down, it is more stable when both your hands and feet are on it, compared to just your feet.
  20. Indeed, buying on price is what has seriously destroyed any culture Americans may once thought they had.
  21. They are two different sub woofers, as the design is fairly different. But, they are meant for similar end goals. The SP4 does have more coil surface, and the option for a spaced spider, so it is able to handle more then the Zcon. Either way, it is a win win.

However, since Kevin calls it under rated it may be over rated. Everything he uses in marketing is suspect IMO
  23. Are you sure the factory processing is even in the headunit? A lot of German cars put the processing in the amp and the h/u has a flat output. If this is the case it is every bit as good as an aftermarket deck all on its own. This isn't 1995.
  24. Well the video may be fake, but water can be turned from frosty icey cold, into a solid block of ice when removed from a fridge under the correct circumstances. I have had it happen to me numerous times, especially while deployed. J Correct "super cooled"
  25. Nope your a sociopath then i guess Probably

Why would you want to over power it? You won't hear the difference between 400 and 600 watts so why would you risk damage?
  27. just thought this was pretty cool

I'm interested in more videos. They are very informative and put together great! What do you think you would cover in future videos?
  29. Take a logical approach to the situation. The subs are on the same amp right? You have already made sure the coils are in phase? You have checked to make sure both coils are working and energized? If so then the sub is not broken. Do nothing but swap the subs around in the box. If the new sub in the same spot is still moving more or "unloading" it's just poor box design.
  30. I don't need extra length here. Only reason you do that where I live is to bridge bumps. The IQR does that for me already. Come visit sometime and we can go boondocking! I will show ya what the longtrack is really for. Ask J about my hospitality, you will be well taken care of. I'd bolt an extension and an ATAAC and bring the beast.....or just rent a 163 RMK
  31. At the least I would deaden the doors. Apply cld tiles to sheet metal panels. About 25% coverage to control resonance. Sheet of mlv over the sheet metal. You can use velcro for mounting. CCF between mlv and actual plastic door panel to reduce any panel rattle. I'm not sure if he'll ship to SA, but you can always try: http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/ If you end up using the second skin since it's local for you, then your going to be looking at damplifier = cld, luxury liner = mlv, overkill = ccf.

  33. Clearly you are no math wizard. Hot girl and home need to be in the same equation, and of course it should equal fucking...
  34. oh im far from hype, and your correct, its all about interpretation, if you WISH to read it rude, you will be offended, but if you wish to read it informatively then you will be wiser by doing so.. ....... your new here, and i welcome you , but M5 is one of the hand full of memebers here that is misunderstood because of his bluntness, like my self, i can tell you this.... if he did not care, he would not post,... but seems how he did,.... he is ONLY challenging you to think, or to raise the question in your own mind.... only to make you a better member of SSA. thats all im saying
  35. chem class + talking to hot girl = I have no fucking clue what's going on. home + book = I understand. chem class + test = epic win. Rinse and repeat.
  36. nothing smart ass about what he said, perhaps your unclear on the meaning of the phrase "smart ass" perhaps you should get your head out of your ass......... now there is a phrase you can picture.
  37. Have you tried emailing them at Sales @ ficaraudio.com? (no spaces)
  38. Sometimes i use my tongue but that's on the really extreme setups.
  39. So school has been extremely time consuming. I managed to find some time to head out to the Stamp Sands and have a good time though! Took a picture or two while I was there
  40. This one is for a modest trunk setup with a little bit of a viewing window... Here is a look at our new coating with some painting to match the owners SSA subs that will be finding a new home in here.. And here are a few from the build log area some of you may not have seen yet..
