SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
Ordered my 1/0 copper cable to wire up batteries and amps. Replacing the cca already back there. Also ordered aluminium bolt for my binding posts on the back of the box. Pretty much everything for the rebuild has been purchased/ordered. My subs should be here in a few weeks too. Getting excited!2 points

SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
All 32 speaker wires are cut and terminated with 6g lugs. Crimped and soldered.. Need to order some shrink sleeve in red and black. And the copper bolts to run through the back of the box for the terminals.2 points

S. DeYoung
1 pointAs good a guy as anyone can possibly buy from. Speedy replies and even speedier shipping. I bought a used 15" DCON from him, paid on Mon. the 15th and it was here on Wed. the 17th. He also said the original packaging was less than spectacular, so he packaged it up real good. Can't beat that at all. Thanks again Sean.1 point

Door project and 3 way active
1 pointVery informative rule of thumb, I would appreciate if you can explain why. Sorry op, not thread jacking or anything but I am sure you would also be curious to know. We're all here to learn anyways so I'm happy you asked. I'm curious as well.1 point

Destroyed...
1 pointSounds like a loose connection that heated up and caused a meltdown. Though pictures would be helpful. Also make sure it's not mounted near any heat source....i.e. close to exhaust manifolds, etc.1 point

Door project and 3 way active
1 pointGeneral rule of thumb is that the Fs should be half of the frequency at which you intend to cross the driver. Obviously reality isn't as cut-and-dry as that, but it's a good rule of thumb to think about when scrolling through tweeters looking for options. I.E. if you want to cross around 2khz to mate up with your mid, you would want a tweeter with an Fs in the vicinity of 1khz.1 point

High quality USB
1 pointWhenever I am looking for cables I go to monoprice. Never had a problem with one of their cables and are as cheap as they come. They sell many different kinds of usb cables. Just look around there until you find what you are after.1 point

Welcome to the IHoP
1 pointI updated the pic from a few pages back, but since you guys don't read backwards here is the tunnel polish Was stressing over the EGT gauge mount, but you'll see I got smart. Sled came with an extra set of hand protectors so I took the aluminum mount and grabbed a few things from the hardware store and now the EGT follows the bars when I raise and lower them. Nearly 4" of travel which is enough to adjust from sitting to standing. Requires a 1/2" wrench, but I'll keep one in my map bag on the tank.1 point

Test results 600 Watt subs
1 pointOP posts pointless video with lots of misinformation. We try to explain why, he doesn't read it and posts another video that is as flawed. I agree on the effort, definitely keep LEARNING; however, I'd learn some more before doing more tests. I gave you a monster hint. NO measurements are considered valid without stating their uncertainty. And NO measurement equipment that is sold is worth buying if that isn't a spec you can find on the product. There is a reason that NIST, PTB, JIST require this and it isn't to be political and waste money. Quite the opposite. Oh, and throw the AMD thingee away, it is going to cause you more harm in confusion than good.1 point

Zcon 18" running 1200rms now, 2400 rms worth it?
I didn't read all the comments here but I can say that it does NOT take a lot of power for the zcons to get loud. I had 2 18s on 600w each in my wall when I first built it. It was stupid loud. Did extremely well numbers and sounded great.1 point

Chop"s 86' Cutlass
1 pointGot some progress nailed down. Cutlass is totally gutted now. Rebuild will be strong. Equipment confirmed. Eta of complete install....Feb. But will be playing perhaps before new years. 4 15" zcons. 2 bc 5.5k's1 point

Test results 600 Watt subs
1 pointTo point out the purpose of measuring output power.. that's not correct. I've said this many of times on forums, you cannot get near accurate results by using peak hold. The peaks will be taken at different times of the measurement. So throw the power output out. 2nd, regardless if the sundown andor the aa sub is new or suspension is loose, unless the test can be duplicated in multiple vehicles, there is only 1 direct comparison which is not enough to go off of. Nobody ever does this accurately because of how much it takes to prove... But if you want to, put the same box and same sub swap in at least 2-4 other vehicles and see what the conclusions are. Also, take into account the suspensions of each sub and their current lifespan.1 point

Zcon 18" running 1200rms now, 2400 rms worth it?
Agreed, I played the more power game for too long. It's a losing battle unless you are competing. My next amp will be a good quality 1000-1500 watt amp, and then I'm done. (I hope)1 point

Zcon 18" running 1200rms now, 2400 rms worth it?
Definitely not worth spending the money for that particular upgrade, especially for the minimal audible difference in a daily driver.1 point

1 point1 point- zcon 18 fs/t for 8s/10s/12s
1 pointIf your building a new box why don't you just keep the zcon? Selling it just to try any other driver seems asinine. Especially if you end up with less cone area, and your goal is equivalent or more output. I know I'm a dick suggesting what you should do, but at least I'll make you think twice. I was no different, and all I ever accomplished was wasting money.1 point- SSA Xcon 10 box help
1 pointI would do like 1.5 - 1.75 cubes tuned to mid 30's or so...the xcons love the lows so I wouldn't go much over around 35hz1 point- The PT Bruiser, 159.5db!!
1 pointWe we're insanely slow at work. And I have been sick of having to pull my AUX cord out my glove box. So, I did something about it. How my little panel looked previously. This picture is way shittier then I thought. lol wow Took out the rear wiper switch, since it's useless as hell lol.1 point- The PT Bruiser, 159.5db!!
