  1. ok, the BLs are great subs like i said... the nightshade V1s ( is what i had in the black town car after the BLs) was louder when directly swapped out... BUT DID NOT SOUND AS GOOD,.. meaning.. they were not as musical... they are more of a SPL sub i now have the nightshade V2s now with your budget i dont see it.... you have enough to get the subs and amp.... but then you will have no money for the shit you really need when running 5K.. like WIRE!! you will need alot of 0 gauge, adds up fast, you will need batteries,. in a big way, h/o alternator, and a good box is never cheap..... and you still have yet to deaden... i personaly think you should scale down a bit, if your coming from 2 JBL 12s in a prefab box, then i think you would be happy with a GOOD box, more cone area and a little more power... you dont even wanna know how much i have wrapped up in a stereo and getting loud never comes cheap or easy!! sub suggestions 2 15's SSA Gcon or icon FI Qs or bls sundown SA's amp, 2K or so would be plenty and you would not have to spend a shit ton on batteries and h/o alts and wire... 3K at most.. but that will require more electrical sundown amps cost more because they are a retail kinda amp. and they provide an amazing customer service, thats worth a little more to people.... and deadener i personaly removed the rear speakers from the back deck, secondskin the shit out of the trunk lid, the sides of the truck the gas tank hump and so on.... now the rest im not gonna just come out with.... as well.. im a competitor and i spent YEARS and tons of money trying and trying untill i found what seems to work for me. im not sure if i missed anything.. but if i did.. let me know. oh and lastly.. i can not stress this enough... the encloser is more inportant then the sub you put in it.... you can but the best speaker in the world in a shit box, and it will sound like shit... but on the same token.. you can put a really shitty sub in a very well designed box for that sub,. and BOOm. your in action.
  2. Why is this in the FI section? And wouldn't a BTL and a Nightshade be a better comparison?
  3. Makes no sense. All I know is if he didn't play football people would have a different attitude towards him.
  4. You can always try removing the speakers from the rear deck, deadening the deck, trunk lid, and other areas of the trunk itself, trying the box facing forward and back, moved as far as you can forward or toward the back, and any other combination that a person can think of. Even if all that didn't work, you're not out any money moving things around or pulling the rear speakers, and deadening the trunk and all associated panels is something you should do anyway, then worry about new subs. My money is on you noticing a difference by opening the rear deck, deadening, and finding the sweet spot for those 12's.
  5. another reason why i would tell you to stay smaller is because big subs weight alot and so do batteries, my car is SO heavy its not safe for a normal person to drive it... its just too much weight the car acts bad, and hit a bump going 70 miles an hour and your out of there,...... army kyle just wrecked his car.. and I think its because of the weight. i tow for a living, so its no thing for me to controll an over weight vehical, also over 90 feet long i tow over a 125K dead weight with no breaks other then my rig every day... so im an above average driver.... weight is a car is no joke, i warn people all the time.. think bout it first... i would NOT drive my car every day, its hard on the tranny, the motor and everything else... i know its fun.. but once you get into big stereos you have big problems. just a warning oh, and house or indutral wire and auto wire is not the same.
  6. And most likely it's a bad idea. Of course the translation of what he tried to say may be why, but the pics will tell the story. And if they don't alone the dimensions will tell the rest.
  7. Check out db-r, Chris has always taken care of me. http://www.db-r.com/sell/store2/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65_67_69_81
  8. 1 point
I agree. Should you ever decide to upgrade things in the future you'll be a step ahead with larger wire already in place. One run of 1/0 isn't that much more expensive than 4awg.
  9. 1 point
i would do the 0 gauge
  10. Don't sweat it. I am horrible with names, Bill. Mornin' Sam. Mornin' Ralph.
  11. Just because you get nightshades doesn't mean you will be doing 150s as well, I hope that's not the main reason your choosing those subs.
  12. Don't sweat it. I am horrible with names, Bill.
  13. Actually I do not have much free time. This is a rainy/snowy day project I will make time to help you though
  14. The new amp is a C1100.4 to run the front doors. Gonna be doing a large very loud front stage. All Rockford Punch Pro Audio. All batteries are going in tool box. 4 Die Hards and 2 3400's in the tool box and the other 3400's under the hood. I hope thats enough battery power. I think I may order some Knu Krystal RCA's. Now I just have random shit in there, some are tsunami, rockford and maybe even a Memphis set. lol
  15. Why the fuck is everyone glorifying Jovan Belcher? Fuck that guy, I hope he is burning in hell.
  16. Got Power? Thinking this will be the new amp placements Decided to start getting everything out and get this going. I will be doing some very loud doors while its all out aswell.
  17. There are beers in the fridge, BGE in front of the apt, one of the largest beer coolers in the state 4 blocks away, 12,000 college aged women, and a bar district with awesome food 5 blocks away.
  18. Yeah without knowing what space that you have this is impossible to answer.
  19. I know Ryan doesn't like black wheels, but this one looks so much better.
  20. Obvious choice, no matter the nationality.
  21. Yeah man!! Give me until the weekend. My build isnt cleaned up yet since getting a new amp, but I will still take pics. Just dont freak at the wiring and amp just chillin, I don't always do that haha
  22. if you can find a used one for sale, get a sundown 1500d, I have 2 12" gcons as well and it works great.
  23. You are not likely going to see full power. Overhead is your friend. 2 subs rated at 750-1000w each seems to fit that amp well.
  24. I also got started on the doors. A little bit at a time. A before shot of the door I have the ring cut out and it is wrapped with fleece just waiting to get glassed up If you compare to the before pic you will see what i am going to be relocating the pocket area to the rear part of the door.
