  3. Hi guys, so here to show a short write up of my recently purchased HIDs from DDMTuning.com. First image is of what was all purchased. I will note that I first made order on Jan 1st, it was accepted on the 3rd, and received shipping number on the 4th. I basically did not see any update until it was here state side from China. I was told all 55watt ballasts are shipped from China. I also was never contacted back from their support team which was reached out twice via email and once via facebook. Items arrived on the 19th in NY, and arrived at my local post office the morning of 21st and arrived at my door on the 22. This image of the packageing. Here is whats in the box 55watt Ballast Error Eliminator H13 Hi/Low Ligh Bulb H10 Light Bulb Next are the before pictures Please, keep in mind, that I blacked out my headlights, as well as the fog lights. Ever since doing this, my visibility has droped dramatically. Basically relying on street lights. Outside driver side: If you notice, majority of my light output is coming from my fog lights, which you can tell by the amber light. About 12 ft from wall, outside passenger side: Driver seat: Those two pictures above are a bit deceiving, as I was surrounded by complete blackness, during city drive, the light output was no where near this. Next, are a few install pics I used two 5lb double sided tape per ballast: And there was LIGHT! Please note, thanks to Bassahaulic, that for my paticular application, I had to switch the neg/pos for the fogs. And finally, some after pictures About 5 ft in front: If you have your light darken as well, I would suggest going one less K level than you desired results, as you can see, they are reaching into the purple hue, which is not what I wanted, but this is caused by the black paint, is what I'm assuming. I would order the 6000k if I could do it over again. In this picture, you can see that I can finally see a pretty good amount several yards away now. Also, I have taken some highway damage on my headlights, which has resulted in paint chip in the passenger headlight, about the size of a dollar coin. I can clearly see that the black paint is holding back a really big amount of light output. I would definately go with a much lighter black next time. Passenger side of above image: Outside of passenger door: Again: In driver seat looking at same wall: Driver side looking at same wall: Here is about 10 parking spots down, directly in front: Same distance, but at a angle of oncoming traffic: And thats it for the pictures I've tooken. Conclusion: Pros: I absolutely love the product. The instrustions provided via website are very clear, and with pictures! The construction is really top notch as well. Very good connections, REALLY great detail to the safety and longjevity of the equipment as well with great insulation, heat protection, very solid connections, the whole nine yards. I really love the lack of advertisements as well. I can see where they really cut down on cost because of it. You willl not find a single DDM logo anywhere. I would buy again. Cons: The first thing that comes to mind is the definately the Customer Service. I have yet been contacted by. Now, I'm pretty sure they get flooded with shipping emails, but I was in no hurry, was simply looking for an update since my shiping order said it was being prep'd for shipping for over two weeks. Also the lack of details of items in store, I now have an extra harnes and error eliminator because it was not clear that they came in pairs. There was no package packing either. All equipment was simply in those little white boxes seen above, I could see where shipping damage could be a problem. That wraps up this review, thanks for viewing.
  4. The miniDSP does EQ also, so no need for another device. You do need a computer for tuning (setting XO points, slopes, EQ, T/A, etc). With a laptop you can sit in the driver seat, and adjust everything on the fly.
  5. Greg I sent you over another email just now with the build invoice, just check it over and make sure everything is correct, and I will get it in the build queue for you. -Shawn
  6. This was completely my fault and I take full responsibilty for it. I will get you a new recone out directly. -Shawn
  7. Pull the driver out of the enclosure, and check the felt pad on the back of the cone. You can also try lightly applying pressure on the cone, and see if you notice any scratching noise from the voice-coil rubbing.
  8. Man come on, how you gonna recommend a nice SQ based sub to pair with an amp like that? agreed, you'd be in the ballpark of a BL in that case. It doesnt take much power to get Qs moving and sounding good.
  9. He is doing very good. His mother was by lastnight to give us an update.
  10. No. They are completely different motors and suspensions. The Evil doesn't need a spaced spider either, there is no coil rock.
  11. We're saying don't because it will sound like warm @ss. The 4X6 already has a tweeter, why do you want 2 more? Do you have a sub stage? We're not trying to be jerks, but it you already bought this equipment, it's not going to sound very good. Your midbass will be way quieter than all the highs from the tweeters, you'll have multiple speakers playing the same frequency so imaging will sound terrible. If you want real help do what M5 said and post us that info.
  12. Donations list updated. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!

Nice vids man. Lincoln is boss, good job.
  14. Yeah there are several spots for an optional "Alpine 9 channel" upgraded system. Included in that are 4 6x9's in the doors. 4 empty 3" slots - 2 in the front and 2 in the back dashes - and an empty slot for a center, and an empty slot for an 8" sub in the back dash. I don't know how to find out if the HU does or not. I was just going to use some Line-out's to the amps regardless. That miniDSP thing looks very interesting. I guess I have been out of the game for a while. I am just trying not to spend a ton of money on this. I would be willing to throw down $100 for the miniDSP, run active if I can get some good mids. Are there any 7" mid will sound better than the Morel's or the Focal around that same price. I'd rather run a $25 mid installed right with good processing setup well than ANY of the 6x9's you listed. Duly noted. Ever used Peerless Nomex mids? At $57 it seems they are right around my price range. before we start talking which mids would work you need to measure the max mounting depth.
  15. I see. I might be doing some testing in the Camaro with some tantrics. The step down though.
  16. Kyle, how can you say price for performance isn't there? Have you heard them?
  17. Another thing that hasn't been addressed: do the front doors have any large openings between the inner and outer sheet metal? IE: http://blog.stefanhinote.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/2012-02-03_11-51-46_959.jpg (square hole above the speaker, hole to the right of the speaker, large opening on right, etc) If so, they should be sealed by any means: mass loaded vinyl, CLD/traditional car audio sound deander/thickfoil+butyl (though not it's intended purpose it could work), fiberglass panel, etc.
  18. Getting out of the stonage at my house.. Going from 3 Mb connection to a 20 Mb connection.. Jesus.
  19. Your unplugged rca coming from the head unit. It will be a dc signal that should vary.
  20. A couple pics of the work in progress. Pulling wire My buddy hooking up the battery box and amp board Crescendo BC2Ks stacked Sub amps and 4 chan amp fuses boxes mounted up 4 chan board made and tested for fitment Amps wired up and set to go. Everything is hooked up now, and ready to go. Going to add a few more bits here and there but for now its all hooked up. I ran out of wire so I need a tad more from Knukon. On top of that I had an Autopage alarm installed, so its been a busy weekend. So the wait for batteries and a second xcon continue until I return from Korea.
  21. man what happened to the days of 350$ being a top of the line sub. 1200$ + smh my heart and wallet start to hurt when I look at some of this stuff, almost makes 8 10's sound reasonable.
  22. Is this just a redone sp4 with a triple stack? And no space spider?
  23. wow straight nasty sub bet this bad boy would keep up with the all mighty lms ultra in home audio.
