Thanks to all that have chimed in on this one. I agree that our lead times have been excessive and are truly sorry for the delays. Just when we dig out of one delay we get right back into another. The current issues are multiple and are being worked through as rapidly as possible. Customers are currently being contacted about delays via phone (or email if messages are left). Now to address the overall issues: Adding employees... 2 new ones over the past month. Neither of which are office staff and are not currently building drivers. It is impossible to find skilled staff that can simply sit down and a build table and go. New staff is handling other aspects of production besides building drivers. They are already alleviating some back up. Need more machines... we just purchased another hydrolathe and will be receiving it later next week. While not an instant cure, it will go onto the shop floor and help our other massively overburdened hydrolathe once it is set up and dialed in. (These are the task specific lathes that run the profiles of all back plates and top plates) Our current one runs non-stop and is backed up. Need more customer service... Again, not the easiest of tasks. We have people tell us simply to hire teens to handle email and phones. Having this approach in the past set us up for significant issues. Only some of the emails are straight forward and can be handled by a tracking number or simple confirmation. Most emails entail something tech related as well and then need to be sent to someone that can handle them. The overall customer service need is for skilled audio industry individuals and not just a warm body. We are working on this one as well. Implementing a new email system will help keep track of emails/tasks that will let everyone quickly know if it can be answered by anyone or if it needs staff with a specific skill set. Seasonal... for us this is normally a busy time, but internationally as well as domestically we have be hit by massive orders. It seems that distributors have really upped the orders and we didn't see this coming. As Fi customers, distributors get put into line with everyone else, but when there turn comes... its a big turn. OEM... while most do not know, we do manufacturing for other companies as well. This normally isnt as big of an issue as we schedule most OEM runs ahead of time and can shuffle them around some when needed. But, OEM has exploded for some of our companies as well and when their turn comes, it takes a toll on the scheduling board. We have seen this coming and are working with our customers on long term solutions for their needs. This will greatly ease the increasing demand from our long term OEM customers keeping the Fi customers rolling along smoothly. And there are other issues that add up... I truly appreciate our customers patience for a quality US manufactured sub. It would be a simple solution to get speakers made in China or to have steel made overseas, but it truly goes against what I believe in (in doing as much work in house and supporting the US economy through manufacturing). In spite of this we are doing everything we physically can to up our efficiency and lower our lead times. I am disappointed too... but look at this as an opportunity to dial in our processes and streamline things for the long term. We are working hard in the meantime to get things back to our normal 10-15 business day lead time (and then back to the older 7-10 day time). Again, I do share your frustration, but thank you whole heartedly for putting your faith in us and our products. Thanks, Scott

No, it's because most of our population are lazy dumb ducks who want a handout.
  3. Also I dont understand why you guys are mentioning ssa subs when his biggest complaint about the fi is the wait time. Ssa subs are built at fi so hes going to have the same wait times with either company. Not that theres anything wrong with the ssa subs but its absurd to mention a sub when hes still going to have to wait.
  4. Awwwwwwwwww shit! Thoughts!!??
  5. What voice coils does your subwoofer have? helpful link: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp
  6. Thanks! My wife its going to give birth to our daughter within the next few weeks. I will get ahold of you shortly after for a meet up! Congrats! Yea, let me know...... I'm hoping I get this job with Google 3rd party so I might have some work done on the Camry by then

Glad to see you posted .... Love Scott and the team .... any and all improvements are greatly welcomed ... I'd apply for a job but it's quite a distance from NJ.... lol
  8. I agree on modifications being hard on the transmission. From what I can gather, the stock Getrag 5 speed in first gen Rams was just slightly higher rated than the engine. You start tuning it, bam goes the transmission. And for the torque numbers of a tuned diesel, it's no wonder transmissions suffer. But anyway, you have turbo, you have more heat, you have tight tolerances in fuel systems, you have iffy injectors (commonrail) so lots more to go wrong compared to a gasoline engine. And lots more in maintenance Funny to hear complaints about the "cost" of a diesel then to hear how not many can afford such a truck.
  9. In that truck in particular installation will trump the choice
  10. Matching the sub to the box is more important then the amount of power your running.
  11. Don't forget about Ferdinand, I hear he keeps Aaron in line.
  12. IF everything works out the way it is scheduled we should have them back in stock around the end of May. Again thats IF.
  13. hate to be a pest but ordering now with the free shipping you guys now offer doesn't show shipping weight anymore.... Otherwise I would have gone through and put each sub into the cart and get the weights for each subwoofer and post it myself.... SORRY ... :-X I need this for myself really to now look into re-doing my setup and losing some weight.... but I think it should be in the specs on the "Product" page as well for reference .....

    Nice looking Amplifier

thats a great amp you have it will last for ever its defiantly a keeper.
  16. ....a 7khz slope might sound high put remember these are hlcd's and once mounted in a car they peak high around 2-5khz. A 7khz slope at 6db will protect the driver under 1.5khz and tame those peaks.
  17. Thanks Edouble!! I got them as far back as I could, physically. I actually caught a break on the driver side. What a pickle that was lol. When I press the brake pedal, the rod that the adjustable pedal is on, would push down of the top side of the horn, but the way I have it now, when I push it down, the pressure will move the horn down, but once break is released, the horn will be supported again. On the passenger side, there is some kind of black container in the way from preventing me to go back any further. But I do have each motor towards the wall side. The sound stage, at least to me, sounds phucking unbelievable. These are a bit bright around the 3k range. Try to adjust those may be difficult due to my limitation of sq controls via my pioneer. An easy way to tame those minis is to set your high pass filter at 7000hz with a shallow 6db slope. This will almost eliminate the need for eq. Can you do that with the equipment you have?
  18. I personally would look at a SSA Xcon.
  19. What we can take away from that is you are just as biased for Skar as others are against him, so your opinion shouldn't count for anything either.

Any idiot can answer a phone and respond certain information to customers. I didn't say she needed to help them build the damn things. Do you have any idea how many emails/phone calls they get a day? Do you guys realize that if they rush your build times or rush your order, the quality that fi is known for will be compromised? Do you guys really want fi to hire some more people, I want my expensive subs built by the best guy at the shop, not some guy they hired and trained quickly for more production. With spring coming, Isn't this the busiest time of the year for "fi kind of companies"? How much more pissed would you guys be if fi stopped taking orders so they could catch up on their workload? And the guy who ordered the glue..... maybe they don't do the easy orders right away but go off a list of who ordered first and focus on them, even if it is a $4,000 sub order. poor fi, its tough being so popular my only question with them is, i see alot of "i just burnt up my new fi subs threads" could all these threads really be user error? Everyone is well aware of what they do, all their "issues," and why they have them. The fact of the matter is, there is NO excuse to lack customer service. You can spin it any way you like, attempt to make people understand, or make up and excuse, but there just is nothing acceptable for this lack of attention, short of someone being on their death bed. As for the drivers burning up, just think about how many thousands of drivers that work flawlessly that you NEVER hear about. Anytime something is burnt up it is 99.99999% user error, or an amplifier problem that took out the driver as well.

  22. There are a lot of others brands. Take a look at ...the SSA subs, for example !
  23. Phatboi you will find on almost any forums people dont trust skar and kevin. The only places you wont is his dealer forums on other websites because people like getting paid. Whereas here on ssa they leave stuff up so kevin can try to justify to people to buy his products. Its a shame that he ignores this oppertunity and instead tries to hide behind all his nuthuggers. Granted if I was given free gear id prolly swing for a little bit too. You say past dealings....well hes always been shady. From not knowing what his gear is actually capable of to not even knowing specs. To having people make fake accounts to post positive reviews since no one wanted to. Fi bl all the way. Its worth the wait. And if its too long for you im sure there are tons of better options than skarbage
  24. pretttttyyyy sure i warned you of that
  25. No that's the price of owning a FORD
  26. first time, i would try to design a box that you can build outside of the car, and then slide into place, mount it and then make a trim ring to make it look at home... doing that will help you greatly in knowing how many cubes you have and so forth.
  27. Are you serious?! This is NOT high school and we don't need this bullshit on the forum. Keep it on the gay ass social networking sites.

Thanks Aaron. I got rid of the RF 360.3, I decided to go with the Alpine INE-Z928HD that has the steering wheel control harness for my car. It doesn't have nearly as much control as the 360.3 does, but it will work for me. Thanks. The new Passats have rediculously thin sheet metal! When it rains it sounds like a hale storm in my car. I've heard of people just leaning on the car and denting it. That is part of how they save money to afford to sell it for a good price. As for the processor, it would be great if you post up a full review on it and the Xcon when everything is all in.
  29. But yes I'm done with this forum, It is filled with lots of idiots and misinformation..
  30. Almost everyone who posted on my BTL VS ZCON VS MAYHEM topic were vendors and people who work for SSA... All you need to do is read their profiles to see that... They are trying spread misinformation to protect their product and make it sound better then it is. I would post pictures of all profiles but that would take a while... Here are a few examples...
  31. There is no way i'd run just one brand of gear. I'd also pay bills with $5,000 if that were an option.
  32. Bordering on stupidest thread ever. I would do exactly the opposite. Sort of like asking if you had to eat 10 lbs of shit or get punched in the nuts by Brock Lesnar and you had $5000 when you did it what would you do. If someone gave me $5k to buy audio gear from one brand I'd pick the one withe highest resale and pocket as much of the $5k as I could.
  33. No there is nothing I like here, this site is filled with lots of vendors and product promoters who are trying to sell their products and make them sound better then they are. armykyle1 is the only member who Imhave met so far on here who knows what he is talking about...
  34. Sweet remember about reversing the phase on the mids to raise stage height if needed. Helped mine magically
