  2. The everstart brand actually recieves high ratings consistently and is often found to be the best bang for the buck for starting batteries.
  3. Found an interesting "glitch" on TN.com. Or it's because of the flavoring component. Anyways... Add 10 lbs. Soy Powder to cart: Add 10 lbs. Gemma Pea to cart: Remove Soy Powder from cart:
  4. It works/loads/posts just fine here.Works just fine for me as well
  5. Baffles and proper sound deadening are essential to getting the best possible response from any speaker in a car door. CLD tiles (dynamat, second skin, etc.) are just a single part of the total sound deadening equation. I would read up on the SoundDeadenerShowdown website if I were you, to help get a better understanding of what the product is, how it helps, and as a source for some of the best product a person can buy from one of the best vendors there is. As for the baffle, it's easy enough to read up on what it is, but here's a couple of pictures to help show you. I pulled this one randomly from the interwebz. This is how I did the ones in my Jimmy. They can be done a million different ways, but these are about the most simple way to fashion and install a baffle for the speakers to mount to. I got mine out from behind the factory plastic panel because it affects the response of the speaker horribly.
  6. Reason number 45,213,876 to support SSA! Keep it up guys.
  7. No it does not. I was just looking around and read great reviews on those "overnight sensations." What would you recommend? I would like to go the DIY route so I can build my own enclosures but if I found a good deal on something built, I wouldn't mind. I made the overnight sensations a couple years back and still use them, but mostly for listening to music in the basement now. They are good speakers for that budget point, yet I believe there are some better options out there that won't be much more. I'm not sure what your goals are exactly, but there are many good designs for DIY. I actually just bought all the supplies to make the Zaph ZDT3.5 yesterday with the current sale going on at partsexpress. It ended up costing a total of roughly $415 for two towers. I can't tell you how they sound, but from what I read they should not disappoint.
  8. Yes, we have updated a LOAD of order status' with tracking info Wednesday. A swarm of PWX's are on their way out.
  9. The wife wants to take her car, but I may be able to change her mind.
  10. She will be ready for the trip soon!
  11. Built ford tough with GM stuff! As for your gauges, I know stewart warner makes a resistor (They are mainly heavy duty truck gauges, I'm sure others do as well) so that you can run 12v gauges on 24v systems. I'm sure a similar product can be found to allow you to keep the original 6v cluster...
  12. My Honda has pressed in bearings too. Biggest PITA ever! Horrible design...Looking good though
  13. J.... One word. Fuck'em'all'to'hell.
  14. Damn that's pretty quick brother. J
  15. They are not sandwiched on the 4" stuff, it is round lead that is sewn on top of the spider with completely flame resistant materials.. You can not heat shrink the entire lead, If you did that then the heat shrink would melt becauase of the insane amounts of heat and then it would have a pool of melted heat shrink tube that I am sure will burn. The problem is the lead is getting so hot that it is making materials that don't burn..smolder then when it flops about and moves it creates flames. You have to make the tinsel lead turn orange and glow to get it to do it. The lead is significantly larger than the wire on the coil...
  16. no doubt it has this wiring tool that is great for shorting shit out .
  17. id be curious to know how many SP4's Fi has sold. the ratio of fires to sold product would be a pretty clear and definitive answer to the debate. i get my SP4 perhaps late this month and its going on a ZX2500.1, i think im going to buy a fire extinguisher just in case tho
  18. So it happens to now what we know is 2 confirmed SP4's and no other subs....... but it's the subs fault.... hmmm
  19. Not a manufacturing issue..a speaker is an input device, if you do something wrong it smokes and stops working. It only does what you tell it to do in the environment in which you place it in. It's no different than buying a brand new car..taking it 100mph in 1st gear on the interstate and the engine flies apart..that's not because it is a bad car, or the car had issues. It's because you did not shift to the 4 other gears that the car has. Again, it only does what you tell it to do in the environment in which you place it in.
  20. Good to hear, I'm definitely leaning toward Singer when I decide to go big.
  21. Nerp, the JL reference was about the tinsel leads.
  22. Who holds the patent, if I may ask? JL After following the convo..and seeing this response. DOes this mean that the ONLY way the OP could get a refund in this situation is if he has a JL amp powering the woofer? Because the JL company owns the ONLY patent for proper amplifier design that should never be the cause in a subwoofer catching fire due to poorly filtered frequency? You may have followed the convo, but obviously did not read it. Go back an read it, then see if you still think this is a valid question.
  23. Tinsel leads have been the weak point of subs since day 1 in my opinion. At first they would just break. people would just solder wire to fix this issue. Then sandwiched leads User cannot fix broken leads and possibility of fire Now sewn on leads User can fix broken leads and possibility of fire. Have amps been changing that much? Not really. When people say cheap amps, i would think the components in the amp are cheap and are likely to fail faster. The tolerances could be out of wack, but not by a great margin because that would cause other components in the amp to fail faster. So I disagree with saying amp A caused this and Amp B doesn't have that issue I do agree that an amp will do what it is told to do regardless of brand.
  24. 1 point
just a temporary box untill i figure out how i wanna port it. with what frequency and sub and port orientation...baby steps..theres still lots more to do to this bad boy Don't discount the xcon in a sealed box. Xcon's sealed sound sweet! Trust me I know.

Looking good mann, now go ported and let that monster out the cage.
  26. Obviously I DID read it. Which is why I had the question. What was said was that JL has the only specific patent on amp design. That comment stemmed from the discussion that ALL other amplifiers are kissing cousins ..aka they all practicallly share parts which was feeding the arguement that even a trusted manufacturer such as sundown can have a less than ideal parts detail list. Adding to the case of "amp caused fire" If you felt I simply didnt READ than you could have kept your useless comment to yourself. Either that or correct what I did not comprehend from the discussion. I have no problem listening to someone who can point out what I was incorrect about and enlighten me on how i was wrong.
