Comparing SSD to BD
2 pointsI agree, we need to focus on the objective information here and not have the OP swayed by a wannabe youtuber pushing product. Nick gave straight facts as to why the SSD's are an excellent option, and superior choice.2 points

Comparing SSD to BD
2 pointsNone of those questions will give you an answer to properly help make your decision. Answers to help were already provided and you chose to argue them with your limited knowledge of the DAD BD series subwoofers just because Twistedchild420 runs them. Which makes no sense like he is the end of all when it comes to car audio. If you like the BDs then keep them, that way you only have to buy 3 more. If not then try an Fi woofer and see for yourself, you won't regret it.2 points

Cablguy184's 1949 Ford Tudor Sedan
I gather the reason for Sean's support for Don's SDS products is due to Don's superior knowledge in the industry, superior product in addition to Sean's personal experience with different deadening products. Don's material and product costs are higher as he will not settle. SDS is a small operation with a very efficient set up with low overhead (I would know as we are the same and I have been to SDS HQ). The SDS system (not just tiles) are more effective then anything else on the market that I know of, and you use far less tiles due to the superior method and application. It does not serve Don any good to be working price matching deals with lower cost product cutting his already slim margin.1 point

Putting together a new system for my car.. Any Help would be greatly a
Passive = inline crossover network. Active = processing unit that splits the signals before they get to the amp. IE: any component set uses inline crossover networks between the amp and the speakers to split the signals between tweeter and mid. IE: Active, at the headunit (needs to be an active capable headunit) or external processor splits the signal (can manually adjust crossover points, slopes, etc) from head-unit to amp, and then you run separate channels for each driver. channel 1 left tweet, channel 2 right tweet, channel 3 left mid, channel 4 right mid1 point

Take a step back. Why do you want to use super tweeters? Your goals are "clean and sound good," but generally super tweeters are used for their high output--not frequency response.1 point

Ah, I guess money is the motivation factor. Don's product speaks for itself. He doesn't need to give out deals like other companies so people will use his stuff. As for bad mouthing AT, I think the owner has done enough to ruin his own reputation.1 point

Cablguy184's 1949 Ford Tudor Sedan
Sound deadener showdown. AT is shit in comparison and throw in the fact that the owner has no idea how to properly deaden a vehicle. It's a no brainer.1 point

is my box design OK?
1 pointThe port area per square foot rule can go fuck itself. Port area is determine by the parameters of the sub, tuning and amount of power. Has nothing to do with the size of the box.1 point

I'm interested to see your deadening plans! (if any) That ride MUST be a rattle factory I think it'd be cool to see this car turned into some kind of goth, are you fiberglassing the interior? not even a single 8"? What about the low bass....there will be a pair of 8s going in this car ... one in each kick pannel in fully ported and tuned (24 to 28 htz depending on test and tune) enclosures. There should be more than enough low end bass, Especially with a Linear Power LP2250 on them ... Have you decided which 8"? Bandpass box??1 point

This is the direction I want to go with this car ... Eventually !!! But I must take baby steps. I do not have the budget to tear it all apart and build a practically bran new car ... I found these pics using Google ... looking at my car and then looking closely to these pics, you can tell that there is MASSIVE modification work done to the body of these cars !!! Some I plan to do to mine ... Like the frenched in head lights, going with 2 windows on each side instead of 4, body stance ... Many details !!! This weekend we had do most of the body work on my truck and get it ready for paint, so we didn't have time to work on the 49. Once the truck is done with a new paint job, Its open season on the 49 !!!1 point

SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
Yep, dont even have a plan. no designer on here feels confident enough to make me a design. so ill build the biggest enclosure i can and see what fits. The 18s "can" use so much space, that your going to have a hard time making an enclosure too big in that car, just once it's done, try to figure out the volume, then make your port. It surely wont be too big. if i can get 18 cubes ill run 3 18s if not ill have a very efficient wall for 2 18s. ( I bought 3 just incase) Oh man, I bet you wish you could see the look on people's faces when they read that.1 point

That headunit is not capable of active processing. Since you're limited on funds I'd go with a component set upfront, and an amp when you can afford it (think used amp). Only then would I consider replacing any speakers in the back. When you replace the front speakers I'd sound deaden the doors as it'll make a big difference.0 points

Cablguy184's 1949 Ford Tudor Sedan
0 pointsHa ... Nice bro. Just because of you, Don could practically give me a sponsosrship and give me enough deadner to do my car and I would turn him down ... Like you said, products speak for itself and he doesn't need to give out deals and support Car Audio because HE knows what he is doing ... The deadner in my truck is working JUST AS GOOD as the day I installed it ...0 points
