  1. I would respect this and DC more if they posted this here themselves, just my .02.

I would highly suggest looking elsewhere before considering SKAR. As for the DCON, you're going to be hard pressed to find another sub that performs as well for the money. While it's okay to run a little extra power in most cases I don't think double the RMS is recommendable. The amp is rated at 400wrms @ 4 ohms. Why not order a 4 ohm SVC DCON and then in the future if you decide to go with two you'll still have that capability. You don't need to throw full RMS or more at one in order to get everything it can offer and that goes for any sub. The most important thing to consider and spend your time, effort and money on is making certain the enclosure is as close to perfect as possible.
  3. This has been posted on DIYMA for a while. The original tweeters that meet manufacturer spec are fantastic, but with these being out of spec it's hard to say. If they are just slightly off spec (outside of normal manufacturing tolerances) then they are probably fine and a great deal. If they are way the fuck out there spec wise then maybe not so much. I think I read in one of the prior auctions that impedance can range anywhere from 6ohm to 12ohm. It might have been 8ohm to 12ohm, either way that's a hell of a variance, and without knowing exactly why the specs are off makes it hard to determine how close to original performance you are going to get. Personally if I needed/wanted that tweeter, or a tweeter of that caliber, I wouldn't chance it on the out of spec ones. If it's a shits 'n giggles purchase than why not. It might be worth the gamble if you have $100 to blow and don't mind if they are way out of spec and don't meet original design performance. Or for not much more money you could get a known good tweeter that might fit your needs better, depending on what those needs are.
  4. I'd rather them work on regular CS than monitor the forums. Yes, it's another outlet, but in the end, I'd rather them be working on building and handling phone calls and emails. Aaron, I don't think we should make that leap yet. Actions speak louder. Give them some time to act and handle more business. The open forum would just be another load right now.

Listen to this man, it's as if I wrote that post.
  6. We got some smart guys here who know their stuff... But I'm afraid no one is going to be able to give you an answer to your question unless they have your vehicle with all the exact equipment you listed. Give goals and plans for your install. What sounds good to me might not sound good to you.
  7. Amazing transformation. Indeed it is, but I find both rather disgusting.
  8. I love seeing this from a business! I wish more companies could be like this. I wish them well and hope these are more than words.
  9. that is very honest of them to say.... other companies should be so humble and admit things, but.. the proof will be in the pudding, from the track record when i was looking for a big buck alt, they were not even an option... simply because of how they handle stuff...
  10. Reading the comments on FB about DC Power's post about improving their CS. Might be hard to get a hold of, and next breath their CS is unmatched, are you fucking kidding me? If you want the best, you have to be patient. You waited two hours. People are fucking dumb.

Not to discourage your design, but when you place two vertical arrays right next to each (two vertical rows) your horizontal dispersion will get severely narrow. This will translate in to a sweet spot that is so narrow only one person will hear a stereo image in the room. If you can, separate the vertical array. Make it 2x as tall, or just get rid of one side. It will sound much, much better. Also, if Parts Express or Zaph Audio has a response curve for thosedrivers check for peaks on the top end that might need a notch filter. Simple to make and a huge improvement if needed. Common problem with a lot of the cheaper full ranges. Keep it up!

You are thinking correctly.http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/dcon.html scroll down, and click on enclosure recommendations. They even provide some pre designed enclosures. Nice choice on the sub!
  15. man i want that challenge to go down sooo bad. I don't mind being proved wrong and having M5 loose, i just want it to happen.
  16. I work 4 10's (sometimes 12's), but as a bonus I get to work a 5th as well.
