  1. I have sat here and had to deal with a ton of BS for no reason and I was as professional as I could ever be with the people here was I given the same courtesy hell no and if we leave the forum is it isn't retreating by any means so basically its cool for someone to spit in your face as long as they do it in a way that is suppose to be helpful LMAO what the hell.

We might squeeze them in with the t-shirt order. So make sure you vote on the t-shirt design poll, and we can add the 3 buttons onto the order.
  3. Ok guys, the fun has began. I have decided, while I wait to accumulate all the equipment for a 4th order wall and my goal of 160 on music, I am going to build a "temporary" system. The "temporary" system will be 1 x Head Unit to be determined 2 x EVIL 15" D2's 2 x MTX TE4000D 2 x MTX TE1004 1 x XS Power D3400 (under the hood) 4 x XS Power XP3000 (in the back) 1 x Mechman 270 Amp Alternator Alot of 2/0 AWG Power Wire. Dylan designed my enclosure as always, and I built it. Here are the enclosure pics so far...
  4. This company is out of Florida and makes CNC machined enclosures of all types. From pre-fabbed to vehicle specific, to custom. Ask them any questions you may have about enclosures. Website: https://www.soundoffaudio.com/ A new LaFountain Design built web store is in the makings as I type. SSA will be selling their entire catalog after the new site is launched as well. They will be around for quite a while and we look forward to building a great business relationship with them. Welcome!
  5. since all the kiddies like videos, here is the Ethos 15 on ~1,750 watts. Mind the jerry rigged set up. I don't currently have a large enough battery supply in my shop to run my power convertor on a large amount of power.
  6. Not sure how you single parents fare. I've got no wife tonight and expect everything to be a chore.
  7. Will a 4 gauge ring terminal fit? You don't need need 1/0 for 90 amps. You might even get away with 8 gauge. If your going to one ohm you will need a bigger alt and 0 gauge.
  8. Whip me anytime, I like it.
  9. Every morning Matt lays out his rug, and prays towards Sean's house.
  10. Sean sounds like an ass hole to those who don't want to listen. Funny thing is that his primary and fundamental driving force is that he tries to leave things better than the way he found them. Never met anyone else who helped me touch up a resume, in less than a day loaned me 750+ bucks in stuff so I could help my family, and let me have just about the ONLY relaxing day of last year. It is kind of amusing that he gets the focus of what is our go to antagonist. Not that he is a hero by any conventional wording, but he is a great whipping post. Like another capers crusader, he is the hero SSA needs. ROFLMAO. I doubt he will even know the movie reference....
  11. I have tried to explain that in their topics and multiple PM's. Not about Sean, but all the other brands that have smoothly run and very beneficial brand sections on this site for a long time. A perfect example, despite the build house supply issue, SoundSplinter. Mike is not the end all when it came to design or engineering knowledge on speakers, but he was/is very respected and his products are well valued by all who know the SoundSplinter brand, LARGELY due to Mike himself. Personally, I feel I learned a great deal from Mike and it affects how we run SSA to this day.
  12. No, because good shit costs money and the vast majority buy only on price. The market is so diluted with cheap gear.
  13. I've thought about it. I have a MUCH more direct route to the engineers and manufacturers than any of the asshats that are doing it. Problem is my ideals are marketable so that means succombing to BS and I have no interest in that.
  14. Yes, I love mine.. I haven't had a system without one.. great Knob for burping.
  15. There's a difference between members, mods, super mods and "tech team" I wouldn't stick around for the shit...
  16. Front baffles test fitting without the flush mount panel
  17. After tonight I wont be making anymore post until we discuss whether we will be here after this month but if anyone has a question feel free to PM me and I will get back to you ASAP. I will still answer questions until the decision is made.
  18. Now I understand how you misread my post. If you look at it again, all I did was state if you were going to use the testing methods you did you should at least quote the uncertainty and appropriate digits. Then I even offered to help you do it. Of course if you expect to be shit on then you'd read that differently which obviously happened. Sorry that what was intended wasn't read that way. You can try and spin this all you want if YOU think that is how you wrote it then fine I am DONE no more back and for and all this other bullshit cause that's all it is. You guys wanna rag about fucking clamps and how they are in accurate than your deal. I don't care and to be honest there was no professionalism at all and if you think so then you need to go back and reread. I did not come hear to get in a pissin match with anyone who thinks they know everything because they have read the same damn books that I have. I am a geek as most are here but what is the point of me talking over some ones head. I put things in terms that everyone can understand. Can I sit here and tech talk yes but what is the fucking point. We came here to be informative about our amplifiers and to give as much support to potential customers as we can. Like I said we had NO intention of being here we were invited. I actually contacted Mark about a website not about a forum. He saw first hand how the amps were and wanted us here. Maybe some of you guys don't have great people skills and don't know how to talk to people other than how you do. Trust me that is something I had to learn over the years. Some people here need to take a step back and look and see that maybe the things that they are saying is being helpful but you actually aren't. Maybe that is your intention but how your going about it isn't coming across as help at all. And I have seen a lot of people that have left from this site because of how they were treated by mods and so on. Just because your good at something doesn't mean that your way is the only way, and remember this is a big world there are always people that are smarter than you. No one knows everything if so then this world would be a lot different.
  19. Zero tact was used, it looked like a full on attack. But whatever, you guys can keep running people off.
  20. NO they shouldn't have. There's no need to hide anything here. The posts were questioned, then answered, and so forth. It's that simple.
  21. Now I understand how you misread my post. 22. I'm not the electrical guru of electronics here but i've messed around with some AQ's and DD's in the past and know they have very high, i believe it's called inductance. Basically, it takes a lot of power amp-wise to get a decent amount of power to these types of subs. They share high impedance curves which are still the highest i've ever seen before from anything else i've messed with in the past. This alone can be the reason why the soft parts on those subs are not failing. I am willing to bet(although impossible to prove now) that a direct sub swap, the SP4 would be receiving, measurably, more power than the DDs or AQs are.
  23. You might not like some of the things being said, but I can guarantee that you won't find a forum with more knowledgeable people. You say that you are new to the selling aspect of car audio, and I think that you could learn a lot by staying. If you shoot straight with the people here and try to take their criticism or suggestions as constructive you can expand your own knowledge. We have a great group here but you have to be willing to keep an open mind. I know that when I personally want info about a product this is where I come. If you just want to sell shit to the masses and don't care about facts and useful information about what you are doing then maybe this isn't the place for you. I hope that you do decide to stay, it's always nice to see more brands coming to the forum/store. Says who that we wont find a forum with more knowledge people , that's your opinion and your entitled to that. If I have question on things I know who to call from subs to amps. I don't know where you saw that we said we were to sales because we aren't we have been in retail for a while and I have been in the industry for 15+ years. So what your saying is if I don't agree with what a mod says then I am closed minded lmao that is so funny. So if a mod says the moon is blue here then because they say it its law. WOW last time I check we are not in a dictator ship so I don't have to agree with someone else on their views. How they feel is their opinion and that's their opinion. I am buy no means just interested in selling shit to the masses if you want to know the truth we never even wanted to be on a forum we were just going to sell direct and that's that but we had so many people wanting to sell them that's why we are here. We have turned down customers and competitors we aren't just worried about making a buck I have a regular job like everyone else and will even if things get even bigger. We are just here to provide the best product we can and that's all. When I think of a forum for a specific company it for people to ask questions about that particular product not for mods to try to discredit the company. Nobody was trying to discredit your company. You are really reading into this the wrong way. When I first read of your company, I thought here we go again; another person ordering amplifiers with off-the-shelf parts, slapping a logo on it and offering it to the masses. Now, you came on here, offered your product, took the criticism and responded. I can say you have earned much respect with your posts whether you think so or not. The fact that you stated you didn't know everything, but would work your hardest to find an answer to a question you don't know speaks highly of your character. That is the type of people we need and want on this forum. Stick around, don't take things personal, and just think a little outside your "normal" box. We're all here to help each other grow, but the unfortunate thing about type is you cannot convey emotion through it.
  24. I'm sure we will meet up one of these days. I'm anal about my installs. It has to look as good as it sounds and I have a high standard of what's considered good.

  26. He saw them in my build, and in reelfish92's build. that kid is doing a hairtrick on 2k and a pair of 12s.....lolol
  27. i think you misunderstand the questions with attacking, this is unlike alot of boards out there.. we have a very intelligent group here at SSA, and whats wrong with asking questions that matter? and for the record i give flatline props for standing in there and giving what ever incite he has and also admitting when he does not know..... i can name a few companies that either try to lie/ bullshit there was thru it , or run....
  28. whoa..... so im glad someone else can see how frustrating it is for me..... i have tried to let it go, but when i get marked for saying something simple like " in the chat" or NICE JOB!" that shit is infuriating, i enjoyed it when you could see who was marking as well im sorry that i get worked up about it.. but as someone else said, its like getting a prank call everyday.. all day... its not as simple as one may think to just let it go. but ill try again. thanks for the support
  29. If it gets out of hand, we just need to know who is doing it and I can remove their ability to use the rep system. The whole idea of the system is to give positive (visual) feedback for beneficial or helpful content or negative (visual) feedback for harmful or wrong or unhelpful content. Should be straightforward in my opinion. Chances are, I use it more than anyone else.

Ok. i dont know how you feel but your posts are officially starting to piss me off.. BECAUSE.. Someone keeps -1 everything you post.. That's it.. I'm making a thread about it.. Shit's bullshit.
  31. Id do something like what Quentin said. Rockford prime series are good. I would even buy a quality amp that's 500 rms then a shitty amp that's 1000rms. You really won't hear a difference in a few hundred rms. the box is more in important.

Perfect example of how questions should be asked, just look at the responses, they speak volume !!!
  33. I agree with you, but I'd like to know why you posted them being clamped if you find it a pointless test? Because majority of customers ask about clamp and test numbers. That's the main question that's always asked by customers so I posted them. Any other questions feel free.

There are only 3 situations in which a line driver is needed. 1) When you are using a very low preamp voltage source (such as an MP3 player) and it's output is below the level necessary to drive the amplifier to the necessary power levels. Almost any headunit on the market will have sufficient output voltage to drive almost any amp on the market to full power output. 2) When you have unavoidable noise induced into the system during signal transmission and you need to boost the signal to increase your signal to noise ratio (this will be very rare) 3) When you have a low voltage headunit and the amps makes an unacceptable amount of thermal noise with the high gain setting (though this is more a fault of the amplifier than the signal voltage level) That said, line driver is sometimes a generic term and a product that features a line driver will something also offer other useful features such as equalization. But that's a different situation entirely. My comments above were specifically in regards to the line driver feature.
  35. To answer your question they weren't sent to some lab and tested. They were tested by reputable people that keep documented results. So to answer your question were they tested YES. Did they exceed factory ratings while being tested YES. And the test may be meaning less to you as everyone does the same testing from Sundown to most other companies. If that's not a good enough validation for you then I don't know what to tell you.

In laymen's terms an amp amplifies the signal going in to it. Your headunit may put out 2 volts where a line driver may put out 6 volts. Lets just say the amp is capable of amplifying that signal 10 times. Now per the works of Mr Ohm voltage times the current going though a resistor creates power. The resistance of the resistor (speaker in this case) determines current flow. (Not going into that on this explanation) Now a one ohm speaker will always pull the same amount of current (not getting into inductance not going there here). Lets just pick a easy rhetorical number and say a one ohm speaker will allow 10 amps to go through it. Now the amp hooked to the radio turns that 2 volt signal to 20 volts coupled with the current flow of the one ohm speaker you get 200 watts. Now the same amp hooked to the line driver turns that 6 volt signal to 60 volts coupled with the current flow of the speaker you get 600 watts. But all amps have "gain adjustments". This adjustment is there to compensate for the voltage coming from your source. Most amps will work from say .5 volts up to 10 volts. So you just adjust it so the amp puts out rated power. Which is directly related to the voltage it puts out and the resistance of the speaker. Bc a 1 ohm speaker will allow more current than a two ohm speaker the amp doesn't have to multiply that voltage as much to achieve the same output power. (Remember voltage x current = power) Now amps can only multiply that signal so many times. So if the amp will only put out 600 watts at one ohm (the 60volts x the 10 amps) but you want 1,000 watts to ur one ohm speaker the I ly way to get there is to increase voltage. So you use the line driver to bump the input voltage to 10 volts which the amp multiples to 100 volts. However the amp can't accurately handle 100 volts (akind to hooking a 110 volt toaster to 220 outlet) so it puts out clipped signals or could be destroyed. So, to answer the question a line driver is only needed when your input voltage is so low that it falls below the range of the amps "Gain adjustment". Which is normally so low that a line driver is not needed.
  37. Nice to see you guys getting more exposure. Cant wait to see what the rest of these year brings for Team Flatline The S-12 and the F5 are going to be tearing it up this year.....
  38. They will be soon prices are on par with all the other non main stream companies out there.
  39. New site is live, now accepting Credit / Debit & PayPal as payments. Come check it out. http://www.soundoffaudio.com/
  40. Exact same spider, exact same tinsel lead, exact same thread. There's no difference here.. Power is power, watts is watts, which is a measure of heat energy. You're supposed to have less heat energy (watts) present with an amplifier that does less power.. But people are using other amplifiers, with no issues doubling, even tripling the power on those same tinsel leads. All subs that are known to have this issue are linked to the same amplifiers... A speaker is stupid, it does what it is told to do in the environment that it is placed in, including suicide
  41. What amp does he have?! The exact same tinsel lead setup is used on the SMD's..amongst other woofers. There's nothing different there..and they have no issues.
  42. So it happens to now what we know is 2 confirmed SP4's and no other subs....... but it's the subs fault.... hmmm
  43. There is no such thing as proper gain setting. Something threw way to much power at your subs. It could be a bad amp like ^^ said or anything else down the signal chain...
