  1. More pics, less vids. People are at work. LOL
  2. got the roof panel doing the wave.LOL Good stuff.
  3. i love the look of those X 12's. That surround just looks so nasty.
  4. How to finish in style without hitting any cones, despite completely cooked rear tires while pushing to move up one spot.
  5. got the ole lady a new civic so I got this one as my new DD. Upgrading to a 12 ported. start of the box below. As long as history doesnt repeat itself I might actually finish this install.
  6. Power needed to move the cone to xmax in a particular alignment is RMS power rating. The following is an example. Subwoofer A uses a 8 layer 80mm long coil that weighs 400 grams (total MMs). This sub takes 6,500 watts to hit 35mm in a 5 cubic foot box tuned to 32 hertz. Subwoofer B has the same T/S parameters but uses a 4 layer 80mm long coil that weighs 200 grams (total Mms). Due to the lighter weight this sub only needs 3,200 watts to hit xmax in a 5 cubic foot box tuned to 32 hertz. Couple this with the fact inductance will double with subwoofer A than sub B above 35-40 hertz. Sub B is not only as loud as sub A with 3,000 less watts it will be 2-4 DB louder above 40 hertz due to inductance. This means Sub A would actually need 12,000 watts to be as loud as Sub B on 3,200.
  7. The box I picked up.. Opening, remember this is B stock so its not going to be as pretty haha. Even though the amp box is damaged everything was wrapped perfectly and each amp only had minor scratches. Mostly on the mounting feet but the screws covered most of it. Thanks DB-r Electronics! Rubber feet to help with vibration, I cut up one of my old resistance bands I use to work out with. I used four for each amp for each screw. Then I cut 2 long ones and placed them in the center so both amps would have technically 6. SAX 100.4 installed. SAZ 2500.1D installed. Installed a second PAC LC1.. This way I don't have to be in the car while I compete in SPL so I can gain more space and improve my SPL. I usually keep this one under the seat when I drive and use the one on my dash. That's it for now. I will have to record some videos. Anyways, today I have to work on some issues I have been having with some feedback. With my hifonics amps I had none. With these I am having some so I am going to troubleshoot later today. Also, I will be purchasing the X-12s soon, I think they will go better with the 2500D and with my lows.
  8. 1 point
do you even own a evil? i find it funny you requesting something bigger .... when you have yet to own the biggest in the series....... come to think of it.. i dont even remember you running a Zcon. you can dislike this now.
  9. Man.... Shit is for real, no doubt! And turned out so nice too, I just love it!
  10. 1/0 OFC welding cable can get pretty damn cheap. This is where I get my wire. They have "remnant sales" of loose ends they sell for even cheaper with free shipping from time to time. They update their pricing every month by what copper costs. http://www.electronbeam.com/weldingcablestandard.html "July 2013 Pricing, EB-flex, Class K, Welding Cable 6g (16 mm sq) EBT Part No. 31-PXL...... $0.48 per foot 4g (23 mm sq) EBT Part No. 46-PXL...... $0.75 per foot 2g (35 mm sq) EBT Part No. 69-PXL...... $1.10 per foot 1g (43 mm sq) EBT Part No. 84-PXL...... $1.34 per foot 1/0 (54 mm sq) EBT Part No. 107-PXL...... $1.67 per foot 2/0 (68 mm sq) EBT Part No. 134-PXL...... $2.07 per foot 3/0 (85 mm sq) EBT Part No. 168-PXL...... $2.60 per foot 4/0 (109 mm sq) EBT Part No. 214-PXL...... $3.33 per foot Check back weekly for our weekly specials."
  11. I like how your idea of a small install starts with fiberglassing the entire rear deck panel.
  12. 1/0 aluminum is the exact same size as 1/0 copper, unless one manufacturer is lying. AWG doesn't change based on conductor material. AWG is not based on current carrying capability, it is based on cross sectional area of the conductor. This doesn't change when a different material is used. CCA is aluminum and is garbage. It is a marketing gimmick. Copper cladding on the aluminum is used for looks as there is no skin effect with DC to make the cladding worth anything.
