  2. Yeah, that was a pretty bad Topic Title. He he. My bad. Any ways, I took advantage of the DSS deal, picking up a few woofers, and man are my arms tired..... Enough with the bad jokes, here are some pics. I was a little worried about that one box, but everything checked out good. All lined up and ready for action. A couple of motor shots. Not my best work, but still and impressive sight. This will be the first time I run four subs in a single setup. Stay tuned for a build log coming to a forum near you. These subs look great. A+ build quality. All the glue joints look solid with no excess glue. No weak spots were revealed when pushing up from the backside of the surround. These subs pack an impressive stack of spiders extending to the outer most edge of the spider landing. They looked solidly glued, no visual weak points. The neck joint like all other neck joints I've seen in my life was meh. Crap all this blah blah blah, how about some moar fhawking pics? DSS spider landing and neck joint. Coil pic. Thanks for looking.
  3. It hasn't even hit -20F yet here... Hopefully you've done a little more research now and realize how useless a cap is. If not, please do.
  4. I can check riding a whirly bird into a volcano off my bucket list.
  5. IMO I don't like the idea of miss matching batteries. As for the cap I wouldn't use one.
  6. I'm thinking that if you're used to listening to music like you do with the nearfield monitors then you're a great candidate for an active setup for sure. The imaging and soundstage from something like the full ranges and dedicated midbass setup I'm working on would bring a smile to anyone's face and especially to someone who produces music. IMHO I think this is an opportune time to re-evaluate your front stage and do something that will truly make you happy.
