  1. well it"s been about 5 years since I had to pack it in but it looks like I am going to live long enough to retire an old man that drives around communicating with whales and continuing my therapy with 5 finger death punch anyways,I will be building enclosures for locals and for pick up...I might ship across Canada but one thing I will NOT ever do again is ship to the US unless the customer takes care of ALL aspects of shipping... I figure the last year I was shipping to the US I ended up building every enclosure for basically free with all the after charges I got nailed with by the shipping companies...some of the shipping bills doubled from the original quotes BTW....I still have absolutely no desire to design enclosures I do not build so please no design requests
  2. I can say this from experience....this thing hits hard. Violent is the word that comes to mind. Thanks for the Demo David. Love the build photos...
  3. 1 point
We need your absolute max dimensions in LxWxH type deal. That's the only way we can tell if you have enough room.
  4. Holy shit, you figured it out!
  5. More pictures the better. Looks great man.
  6. finishing work on the door panels wrapping the box pillars done and installed wrapping the floor
  7. Tombstones complete!
  8. This weekend I got a ride in a Audi Quattro with the 2.2 turbo. It was making about 25psi boost and it was madness. I couldn't breathe until he shifted into 3rd. Spent the Saturday afternoon helping another guy weld back his wastegate to the manifold. Cool bunch of people and they offered to cut any flanges I need and build a manifold when I want to turbo the Miata
  9. Once this is up and running we need to post a topic and brainstorm ideas for a wireless multimeter.
  10. Experience trumps knowledge every timr.No offense, but in my experience that's something people with no degree say to justify their lack of higher education. Your statement is definitely true in many cases, but also very wrong in many others. I have hired several people who have absolutely proven that statement wrong many times over. One of them still works for me...not enough to justify firing her yet...but should have all the experience needed to excel, and absolutely does not. Performance is average on her best day.I'm simply speaking from my own experiences. I can't argue with yours.
  11. We are "lazy" people. We like stuff to just work out of the box and require no maintainace. Except for changing batteries once in a while.
  12. Old early 2000s m series xtant amps were unreal! Had a 121 m on a rf he2 12 in an s10 blazer that slammed!! Amp was 250 x1 at 2ohms supossedly! Rocked that setup for years w many compliments.. Currently: Ssa Sundown Jvc Jl Polk
  13. Nakamichi & Denon headunits +++ Sound splinter Ascendant audio (avalanche still thumpin strong) On a side note, some great brands to have at home: Harman Kardon (excellent recievers) JBL Mackie (PA amplifiers) Bash ( plate amplifiers) Elemental Designs
  14. Alpine - I've run nothing but alpine decks from day 1. Some of the best in my opinion. I ran a 9856 for 8 years; never a single problem with that head unit. Alpine subwoofers, door speakers, and amps not so much - thats a big old negative ghost rider. I've had 3 alpine amps, all ran hot, all went into protect after extended periods of loud listening. Type-R and Type-S Component sets - mediocre at best. Fried 2 10" Type Rs in a ported box - powered by a kicker zx1000.1 putting out ~500W RMS each of clean power. Never again. Kicker Amps - Good clean power, some of the best you can buy Kicker L7s - Good loud subs but don't expect any sound quality Infinity - I love infinity component speakers. I ran a set of 60.7CS 6.5" for a long time also - still some of the loudest cleanest speakers in my opinion. They do lack on the mid bass and the treble can be extreme if not toned down with an equalizer or sound processor. Haven't heard the new kappas or perfects yet. Hifonics Amps - Used to be the cat's ass. Not anymore. Nowadays they've turned into budget amps; even still, very decent amp for anyone on a budget. Eclipse Subwoofers & Door Speakers - Very very very good component door speakers, ran these with a pair of 12" titanium pros. Nice SQ setup. ANY FINALLY - Hopefully SSA makes it onto this list. I ordered a pair of GCON 12s last night. This is my first time using any of the SSA products and based on the rave reviews, I am expecting a lot from the GCONS. Time will tell. Regards, Snapper
  15. Memphis and Mmats have always been my go to choice for amps. Premier and Nakamichi head units have always been good to me. Audiocontrol never dissapoints.
