The rep system is a great feature, imo. Is nice to to say "hey I had an epiphany from your post" or "thanks for the information", without adding a comment. Don't know that the neg- feature does much good though, as any mis-imformation is going to get called out verbally anyways. The need for people to feel validated and important to the rest of the herd is nothing new. Clearly the real issue here seems to be one gentlemen's need to feel validated. Unfortunately he just keeps alienating the herd, instead of contributing to gain that respect. Beyond that, any regular visitor here knows where M5 and Billy are coming from. M5 does acoustical work for a living and his opinion is usually logic based and very discerning. Billy's opinion is generally to stroke his own ego, gain attention and tell everybody how a hillbilly would do it. I am sure billy is proficient is whatever trade he does, but its clearly not electrical or acoustic work. I personally like both opinions and use them to make my own. Which is usually somewhere in between. As far as the initial disagreement I clearly agree the old thought process of this brand is better than that brand is gone. People know better now and search for dollar to performance ratio, not bragging rights. The 90's are gone, and so is the ignorance. Now to the average person just searching the web for say "what sub fits a nissan car", will most likely go right back to google as soon as he gets in a topic full of people blabbing about everything other that the topic. Unfortunately those topics stay on the internet for years and effect the reputation of this site, that others have spent years to build. Hopefully this helps you, billy, understand why people do not care for your useless posts. I am not saying we don't want you here, but if you want to feel important and get validation on this site you need to adjust your roll bro. If you don't like the effect, dont produce the cause.

It goes without saying that here on SSA we are adults and when our ideas are challenged we should look at it as an opportunity to convey our FACTS to support our claims instead of allowing it to deteriorate into an insult-fest. As we go through life we have plenty of opportunity to learn and improve ourselves. Therefore, no matter what kind of criticism is aimed at you, look at it from a third perspective and try to learn from it. We're not here to spoon feed you or tell you exactly what you want to hear, we're here to grow as a forum and better our community. Just because someone is attacking your ideals does not mean they are personally attacking YOU, You often need to step back and identify what is being said instead of applying what you think is being said. If another member has something negative or constructive to say, don't disregard their comments even if you don't have a high opinion of the person. Instead of shutting down, stay objective about what they are saying. Be prepared to ask follow-up questions during the conversation in order to prevent a bigger misunderstandings. Asking questions shows that you're willing to figure out a solution and that opens up a meaningful exchange that will lead to better understanding and even a learning opportunity yourself and for others.

Well....that got sideways You take eveything as an insult,he tells it straight forward and sometimes in a way to make you think for yourself about what you asked. Took me a little while to get used to it myself....lol Tirefryer used to be sarcastic as well, but no harm intended. All in all this has been a very informative forum for me,would know jack without it.
  4. Meh we are all here stroking our own egos, you are just amplifying it to a degree that is disrupting the herd. I gave that fly on the wall perspective so you will see why his brash personality is tolerated And advice is respected here. Not to mention the guy is willing to help others, and has continued to help you. The reason I give my opinion because I hate to see someone bullied or struggle. You seem to be struggling here, and I would hope you're not making life this hard on yourself in other realms.
  5. Fuck dude, this is so simple. I understand that this is your first audio forum so I will say this for your information. What you do here by trying to point out mistakes, correct them, or to make them look bad to make yourself look better at someone else's expense is considered trolling on an audio forum. Plain and simple. What's worse is you're trolling moderators. Nothing good can come from you doing this. If a moderator gives wrong info, it will not be your fault and will not reflect on you in any way. Best thing to do is to leave him alone. I'm taking my time on my very busy Sunday to type all this shit just to help you out cause you seem like a cool dude. However you take it from here, "may the force be with you my brother" is all I can say.
  6. You know how I am with audio equipment I Really want. I buy it !!! I say go for it, it will get installed and used in due time. Work towards your goals my brother !!!
  7. The xcon is amazing. Iv done a couple installs with xcons. Definitely wouldnt be disappointed. but I would forsure worry about your vehicle first. No point In Having an xcon if your vehicle brakes down

No need to have two different drivers the same size playing with one another. Just add another evil if you feel neccesaary but dont mix drivers.
  9. Yes I get that about the info except when it's an opinion, like passive/active ported/sealed, SQ/SPL some of these things can be subjective, and no one answer is a fact but an opinion. But it's all good I see what you guys are getting at.
  10. You're not realizing one major point here. Sean is a moderator. It's his job to watch over the forum and make sure correct information is given. Moderators are nice here. Do this bullshit on CACO, DIYMA, or SMD and you would get cut (banned) in no time flat. They do listen to reason here. You have to work with them, not against them. Sean gives reasoning to his post now. ALOT more than he use to. Also retyping what someone said is not quoting. You have to box the information you want to quote "as is" and post it that way. Can't show you, I'm on a phone at the moment.
  11. Easy! I said my infinity kappas sucked and asked Arron if I could replace the mid with a evil and still use the tweet until the evil tweets come out and next comment "those infinity's are garbage a evil can walk them" yea I just said exactly that myself.
  12. Billy Jack, honestly brother, you're going about this forum thing all wrong brother. It's very easy to get along with everyone here (including Speaker boy) if you go about this in a polite, understanding manner. First off, quit trying to point out everyone's so called mistakes. Especially moderators. Just by this alone your points will start going up. I can tell you more, but you have to read and comprehend. If you know ALOT, show it ... don't Bragg about it. This will loose everyone attention every time. Dude, I'm not bashing you. Seriously, I'm trying to help.
  13. so u just admitted to "returning the favor" and saying others are not civil or acting like an adult.... since u say u dont understand how forums work, let me explain something u can A) continue to blame others and be rude to them or B) just move on, drop your grudge against others, try to be a bit more open minded, and if you have an issue with something, phrase it better. by phrase it better, i mean, be more civil, as you say others are not. just trying to help honestly. In an online forum all you have are your words. thats what this is.... theres always going to be trolling in online forums. but at the very least we can try our best to avoid trolling and constant drama. In case you didnt read that all: Just be move on and take your own advice. Stop adding fuel to the fire.
  14. Nice. So you post stupid shut and people call it out so you respond with the maturity of a 7th grader. Btw, a lot of who you think are my buddies don't like me. They just think your posts suck.
  15. Is there a reason you try to ruin every single thread you post in?
  16. Speakerboy, you;ve always tried to do some crazy shit ...but that's part of the fun of the hobby, AND you actually listen to advice.
  17. is it possible to just take away the ability to downvote for just one individual? that may solve this problem in an easier manner, in which it affects less people
  18. I usually do not involve myself in these threads but..... Billy Jack.. go back and read some of your threads and posts.... seriously dude..... hertz vs frequency ???? .. LOL my autistic son could draw a diagram and explain it to you in detail if your going to Forest Gump yourself here you will have to expect the flack that comes with it.... and take it dry
  19. Billyjack, when you post false information on this forum which I consider my home on the Internet, you risk misinforming newbies and fucking up their whole learning process. Since you can't comprehend the concept of being wrong, you don't stand to learn anything. People come here to learn and progress. You come here to try and prove yourself right. Go do your buddies installs and convince them that shitshow is top notch. Stop fucking up our forum with your backasswards halfcocked shit. Learn or fuck off. Stop contaminating this site. I'm the resident loon and you make me look like a brainiac.
  20. Ok, to start with, my name is White Lightning on SMD. I post there ALOT too. So you can easily tell that I'm friends on both forums. With that said, my biggest thing with dyno test is that they are not real world application. All vehicle setups are different. So no, I don't care for dyno test either. However, I do not complain about them. They are a fun bench test none the less. You can guarantee that results will be different In a vehicle application. Def. not worth trolling over. Just Saying
  21. Girls, Girls... Can we all just get along... lol
  22. or like how you went back to years old posts and marked them negative. Pot, kettle, black

I guess I'm just not mature and experienced enough to understand how you're so dull. It has me infinitely baffled.
