  1. A few years late, but we are finally getting a very nice tweeter going that is worthy of being a part of the SSA line. The pictures below show the prototypes, they are really attractive in person and will, in production form, bare the SSA logo. See the attached files for the 4 and 8 ohm versions. They are quite smooth to my ear (aka not super bright like some metal dome tweets can be) and blend well with the Evil6.5's (vital to the design). These are not a PA style, 'screamy' tweet, these are meant for sound quality first and foremost. Possible future home audio plans. Pricing is not set just yet. These will be sold as a pair. Some quick points of info: 28mm Silk Dome, Large Roll Surround Aluminum Faceplace and Housing Sound Transparent Grill Low Fs. for flexibility in both Home & Car Neo Motor with Shallow non-Resonant Chamber 61.9mm (2.44") dia. flange, 21.5mm (.85") depth 65 watts rms
  2. Who does the World Famous West Coast Customs call when they have a big heat issue and need to quiet down a huge build? Yep, that's right, Team Second Skin!!! Team Second Skin had an amazing MLK weekend in sunny Burbank, CA working with the world famous West Coast Customs build team on a huge build for their upcoming new season on Velocity Channel. We are excited for the episode to air featuring our newest product line Mega'Block Hydrophobic Melamine Foam Heat Shield, along with the high quality staples like Damplifier Pro, Luxury Liner Pro, Damp Rope, and Speaker Tweakers. When we say this build is huge, it is no understatement, this build is pushing 218 total sqft of raw metal that needed to be DEADENED and West Coast Customs reached out to us to take on this huge task. It was an honor to work with the crew of West Coast Customs and get our hands on such an amazing build. Unfortunately, we cannot disclose too much info on it, nor release any of our pics of the build until it airs the first time in March/April 2017!!! With all this time to wait, we will come up with a cool promo to run with the launch of this episode, so keep your eyes on our forums, social medias, and website to stay current with the episode time and promo info. As always, make sure to insist on nothing but the best American made high quality sound deadening products for your builds.....Second Skin For The Win!!!
  3. great to hear, you guys are doing big things!
  4. Subwoofers are not efficient by themselves. Enclosure design is the biggest factor. Amplifier class has nothing to with sheer output necessarily. Amplifier design does have a huge impact when considering your electrical supply, which is what you meant I think. If these perform anything like the Ethos I am sure they will be great! For a daily setup, a 300 amp alt should be your first upgrade along with 4 runs on 1/0, 2 positive and 2 negative to the trunk. I'd recommend a good AGM under the hood, and 2-4 banks of caps in the trunk. That'll support 6-7k daily dipping into the high 12v range under extreme demands. If these Synergy amps are anything like the Twisted Sounds, a 3.5k amp would make ~7k on burps. My TS 2.8K had max output of over 4k and 3.5k daily! All for $500 shipped
  5. An inverted BTL NEO may not be suitable for you for your little car. The speaker is not a shallow driver. 2 x 12" subwoofers would be your best option. You would want subs that are efficient and are designed for +35hz in a 4 cubes net; that's the biggest enclosure you'll be able to fit in your trunk, if you build it in your trunk. Soundrive Audio SDA3 12" would be what I would recommend for your "as much bass as possible" criteria. SDA3 #1 design characteristic is high efficiency. An 8" aero port tuned to 35hz, with 10" of the port external ( minimize net volume loss) facing the trunk lid, on 4k would be nasty. They are assembled in the USA as well if that is a concern. Message Soundrive on Facebook and see when they will be available for the next order, they are already sold out. http://store.soundriveaudio.com/subwoofers/80-soundrive-sda3-12-subwoofer.html
  6. I have used a Twisted Sounds amplifier and it was excellent. I will certainly buy from them again if I have the need too.
  7. I will say this ... (LOL Sean, had to ...) I hardly ever run larger than a 10" driver in my setups. But I have had 4 15s in one of my ground pounders. Now after talking to Mark and Aaron personally at show and events, and basically demoing SEVERAL different drivers, If I ever went stupid and built me another ground pounder, I promised Aaron that I would be ordering SSA product s for that ride. Performance along with ownership and customer service is more than enough to run their equipment. So if I was you, I'd order SSA and call it a day brother. You won't be disappointed.
  8. JL Audio is junk ...............................
  9. The front baffle will be 'glassed inside the trunk. The only way to remove the enclosure will be to cut it out. I am certainly not a master at fiberglass but I fucked it up enough times to know what not to do
