SSA Evil 1 (first SSA tweeter)
4 pointsA few years late, but we are finally getting a very nice tweeter going that is worthy of being a part of the SSA line. The pictures below show the prototypes, they are really attractive in person and will, in production form, bare the SSA logo. See the attached files for the 4 and 8 ohm versions. They are quite smooth to my ear (aka not super bright like some metal dome tweets can be) and blend well with the Evil6.5's (vital to the design). These are not a PA style, 'screamy' tweet, these are meant for sound quality first and foremost. Possible future home audio plans. Pricing is not set just yet. These will be sold as a pair. Some quick points of info: 28mm Silk Dome, Large Roll Surround Aluminum Faceplace and Housing Sound Transparent Grill Low Fs. for flexibility in both Home & Car Neo Motor with Shallow non-Resonant Chamber 61.9mm (2.44") dia. flange, 21.5mm (.85") depth 65 watts rms4 points

2 pointsWhy are yall even responding to this foolishness, you're just feeding the fire. Even if wrong he will argue, even when someone who knows better corrects him he doubles down. Stop feeding the trolls. CCA wire sucks plain and simple regardless how cheap you are or your system it sucks, there are countless test proving it. But what do we know, we dont know anything here.2 points

2 pointsya .... OK.... LOL CCA does not deliver the same amount of current from the batteries /alt to the amps as OFC of the same size, it does not deliver the same sound quality from the head unit to the amps or from the amps to the speakers.... not even close if your using mediocre equiptment in a ground pounder listening to fart music CCA would be fine but if your into SQ and want all the micro details with a dead back ground and no noise floor it's junk you can't use your bullshit opinions and fight the laws of physics.... OFC has way less restriction and carry's the frequency's more freely Copper and aluminum are the most commonly used wire materials and there is a significant difference in quality, power handling and signal transfer between these materials. The least costly between these 2 options is Copper-Clad Aluminum (CCA) wire. CCA wire utilizes an aluminum core that is clad or dipped in copper. It is a suitable choice for lower powered systems or restricted budget applications, although the power transfer is not on the same level as the far superior Oxygen Free Copper (100% OFC) wiring. OFC wiring is refined to remove virtually all oxygen and other corrosive elements. Oxygen Free Copper wiring provides a superior electrical conductor to aluminum because it does not expand or contract with heat and can carry a higher current load. The improved efficiency of OFC wiring will also reduce the strain on your vehicle tremendously and allows your sound system to run at its maximum efficiency. While OFC wiring is more costly upfront, it provides much improved corrosion resistanceand greatly reduces your long term maintenance costs. CCA wiring often times will degrade to the point that it needs replacing much sooner than OFC wiring. OFC Advantages Increased Conductivity to Carry More Current to Your Amplifier Reduced the Strain on Your Vehicle’s Electrical System Increased Corrosion Resistance Decreased Maintenance Costs Improved Heat Absorption2 points

2 pointsI will say this ... (LOL Sean, had to ...) I hardly ever run larger than a 10" driver in my setups. But I have had 4 15s in one of my ground pounders. Now after talking to Mark and Aaron personally at show and events, and basically demoing SEVERAL different drivers, If I ever went stupid and built me another ground pounder, I promised Aaron that I would be ordering SSA product s for that ride. Performance along with ownership and customer service is more than enough to run their equipment. So if I was you, I'd order SSA and call it a day brother. You won't be disappointed.2 points

Second Skin West Coast Customs Build
Who does the World Famous West Coast Customs call when they have a big heat issue and need to quiet down a huge build? Yep, that's right, Team Second Skin!!! Team Second Skin had an amazing MLK weekend in sunny Burbank, CA working with the world famous West Coast Customs build team on a huge build for their upcoming new season on Velocity Channel. We are excited for the episode to air featuring our newest product line Mega'Block Hydrophobic Melamine Foam Heat Shield, along with the high quality staples like Damplifier Pro, Luxury Liner Pro, Damp Rope, and Speaker Tweakers. When we say this build is huge, it is no understatement, this build is pushing 218 total sqft of raw metal that needed to be DEADENED and West Coast Customs reached out to us to take on this huge task. It was an honor to work with the crew of West Coast Customs and get our hands on such an amazing build. Unfortunately, we cannot disclose too much info on it, nor release any of our pics of the build until it airs the first time in March/April 2017!!! With all this time to wait, we will come up with a cool promo to run with the launch of this episode, so keep your eyes on our forums, social medias, and website to stay current with the episode time and promo info. As always, make sure to insist on nothing but the best American made high quality sound deadening products for your builds.....Second Skin For The Win!!!1 point

SSA Evil 1 (first SSA tweeter)
1 pointI did not set out to have these specific to one way or the other. They needed to be home audio friendly (on axis) and car audio friendly (off-axis). Sure, they lean towards on-axis in through testing, but they can still perform well off-axis.1 point

1 pointWhy use 2 runs of wire when you can use only one ? Is it cheaper ? 2 runs of CCA are cheaper than one run of OFC ? You need more connector, 2 runs of negative too. I don't find that solution interesting if you have to double up everything. Get welding wire from your local store, if you're on a tight budget.1 point

1 pointAccording to the graphs the Fs is 736hz for the 4 ohm and 838hz for the 8 ohm version. So there's a good potential for a great crossover point with these.1 point

1 pointSubwoofers are not efficient by themselves. Enclosure design is the biggest factor. Amplifier class has nothing to with sheer output necessarily. Amplifier design does have a huge impact when considering your electrical supply, which is what you meant I think. If these perform anything like the Ethos I am sure they will be great! For a daily setup, a 300 amp alt should be your first upgrade along with 4 runs on 1/0, 2 positive and 2 negative to the trunk. I'd recommend a good AGM under the hood, and 2-4 banks of caps in the trunk. That'll support 6-7k daily dipping into the high 12v range under extreme demands. If these Synergy amps are anything like the Twisted Sounds, a 3.5k amp would make ~7k on burps. My TS 2.8K had max output of over 4k and 3.5k daily! All for $500 shipped1 point

1 pointI never calculated "efficient" into any of my competition vehicles. But then again, I only run Class A/B amplifiers.1 point

Feel free to give some feedback on your equipment , I'm just curious how it all works out...1 point

Which amp is right for my NVX Components
The 600 will work slightly better for your speakers, just because it will put out more clean RMS then the smaller amp. And it want be working as hard either. More power is always good. When I do sq style installs on my own cars, I always buy a amp around 2-3 times the recommended RMS and run it at a higher ohm load, turned down so I get as much clean un-clipped power as possible, without straining the amp. But either one will work fine I like the Orion stuff.1 point
