  1. Other part I forgot to mention is cabin gain, or the frequency your car is going to naturally amplify on its own. This will change your response curve somewhat also, but is not something you can really model as every car is different. It could mean you'll gain back the low-end. Or possibly gain some higher frequency, leveling out the response. Either way you're going to have loud head knocking bass! When you get tired of just being loud and low as possible, you can always smooth things out a little with the EQ, level the output with the frontstage and make it more acoustical. Or depending on how easily you can get to your adjustments, possibly have two different settings. One for all out and the other for easy listening.
  2. I have not built anything out of the norm worth posting in a while.... how many single 12" box builds does one post ?? this ones slightly different...a quad of GB 10D4's.... my first run in with Audiofrog and starting with 2.25cf3 tuned at 30hz with a 7% port velocity per chamber no cosmetics until the subs are broken in and I'm happy with the tuning
  3. Lol ok sorry that was a reference pic for the color. I’ll tell him take a pic
  4. If you are obsessed with teh lower tuned box, then that is clearly the correct choice for you. Personally I think you are hung up on the math side of things and forgetting you are going to be playing music.... music is dynamic, not linear like the graph you are looking at. If a song has a 26hz sound, it will make that sound weather the box is tuned to 32 or 28. At the volume levels I can already guess you plan on, 26hz will be there either way and the slight gain will be felt more than heard. Everything above will have lower output. IMO thats a shitty trade-off in a car. I would take the 3db gain from 30hz up knowing the 6db down at 26hz will still be shaking the hell out things. Port area is based more on the power planned, than the enclosure volume. If you plan on listening at full tilt most of the time the larger the port the better... because it will have less port resonance.
  5. I knew they had pick up as an option when you order, just didnt expect a store front too. Pretty cool to see where I been ordering from.
  6. Adorable! Hope it goes perfectly!
  7. Whoop look who’s back. Lol he liked it so I got it back to make it look pretty. I saw miles dye his box and I liked it so went ahead and tried my hand at wood dyeing. Tried to color match my friends truck but it came out more on the green side. I used the spray can lacquer but it it just wasn’t leaving a nice thick coat of clear so I got impatient and switched to the brush on poly lol. i bed lined the back and under the box and stained cleared and tried to buff all the visible parts. I also vinyl wrapped the spacers to help accent the box. All in all I’ll try more projects with this stain and clear coat. Maybe if I added more coats of clear it would’ve gave that thick coat I was looking forward.
