  1. I love the way that looks, I wish I had half of your fabrication skills lol.
  2. The P3 was the first sub I ever had, it definitely wasn't that bad. Obviously I'd rather have something else for the price, but I wouldn't classify them as garbage either.
  3. This is what I had to do to my passenger side pod, I just kept grinding it down and test fitting until it fit in.
  4. I like your choice of equipment
  5. Nice job on the fiberglassing, I'm excited to see how they turn out.
  6. I just loosened them up a little bit before I used them, but I've had them piss me off before lol. That sucks, hope you get it resolved soon.
  7. I actually wouldn't mind having a poster either lol.
  8. That is pretty crazy, it's hard to imagine how they did that so fast.
  9. You are right. I planned on switching over to two 12", so no immediate need for a recone. Are SSA XCON recones available? Dude sharts are the worse! Seriously, expanding foam can be great and also awful. You can contact denim for a recone, but I recently saw a topic saying they were out of 12" D1 recones at the moment if you need D1's.
  10. Good luck getting an alt in there or doing the big 3 lol. I did the big 3 and it was quite painful, ratchet extensions are pretty much required to get the bolt off.
  11. I really like the way that looks. If I seal my car again I think I would try the same approach.
  12. What size Xcons did you end up getting? Edit: Nevermind, I just saw who you bought them from. Volvo's love Xcons btw Excited to see the damage they do
  13. You could get two of these Stinger Wire Coupler Ebay Should work fine, I would put electrical tape over them or something though to prevent grounding. Cheaper than fuse holders and less resistance.
  14. Lovin' it! It's funny how similar the wagon version of my car looks, I actually wish I had it. I'm excited to see what you've got planned.
  15. Take a look at these designs from SSA Tech http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/downloads/enclosure-designs/item/12-xcon-optimal-sealed.html?category_id=14 I think you might need google sketchup to view, but its the optimal box for an Xcon
  16. While I would also suggest a whole new set up, if you wanted to just add a sub and keep your current speakers without buying a receiver for the speakers you can do so. Just open up the logitech sub and snip the sub's wires, and run the other speakers as you normally would. To get a signal to the sub amp (you would need an external amp for this), split the 3.5mm jack into two outputs, plug the logitech system for the speakers in and a 3.5mm to rca adapter to the amp. The above setup is ghetto and will not sound as good as a whole new set up would, but if you are tight on cash and can't do it I think this is an acceptable temporary alternative.
  17. When I grounded my RCA's I used a couple of couplers. I soldered a wire with an ring terminal on the other end to the coupler, securely grounded the coupler, and plugged the coupler into the head unit and rca into the coupler. Another crude way of doing this is looping wire around the rca output on your head unit and plugging the rca in so it makes a snug connection between the shield and the head unit chassis. You can also ground near the amp, but if the head unit is causing the noise it's better to ground at the output. It sounds like the bass amp might be your issue however. For a quick test, just take a piece of wire and touch it to the rca's shield and then to some sort of ground. Hope you get your issue fixed, I absolutely hate alternator whine and it plagued me for a while (damn pico fuse in pioneers).
  18. Getting any sort of raise is awesome. Glad to hear it!
  19. I don't think this amp is intended for daily use anyway. You could put well over the rated current for a short period of time with any given wire size. It's not going to instantly melt or anything, over time it will. That being said, music is dynamic and it is not going to be pulling 1000 amps continuously unless you love sine waves. So even if you did use it daily, 3 runs of 0 awg is fine. They could have gone overkill by adding another set of inputs, but that would cost more and add more variables to the system.
  20. Slightly off topic, but I had a 12" LI @ 32 hz in 2.5 cubes and it was great. I'd recommend just getting a new box, it will hammer the lows.

Oooooh monoprice lol. Good choice on the cables they are great quality for a fraction of the cost.
  22. yeah that's a good score for that amount of power, cone area, and being a trunk I'll be curious to see the results after you got the xcons in. Have you decided what amp you'll be using? I'm using an IA 40.1, I just need to save up to get a DC power alt so I can power it properly lol. They've actually been in for a while I just don't have a meter, I'm probably hitting somewhere in the upper 140's though (pretty hard to judge though). sweet, how much power does the IA 40.1 make on the sub channel (or it's a monoblock one channel?)? It's a monoblock rated at 3600 Wrms @12v, and people say it to do anywhere between 4-5K on 14.4 volts. Oh, and it looks bad ass lol.

  24. Vehicle: 2000 Volvo S40 Equipment: Optima D34/Batcap 400, RF Punch 500-2, IA Lethal Injection 12" in 2.5 cubes @ 32 hz Meter placement: Sealed on the dash Music: Bass Ballin' - 134.5 dB on TL Tones: Not metered Looking forward to getting new numbers with the Xcon's! I was quite impressed with my score on 5-600 watts on my LI.
