Ignore the bare wire, and the cutouts on the bottom, I was using them for spacers to figure out how much room I had when closing the hatch. Wired to 1 ohm, both d3400's hooked up, still have to set the gain and subsonic. With the gain all the way down, cdplayer turned up to the point of the clip indicator light coming on, only drops from 14.4 to 13.7.. Tomorrow I'll set the gain and play around some more.

Had some time to play around yesterday and today.. Driver's side tweeter is too close, I think I'll be moving it back a little bit and aiming it more towards my left ear - as it sits now it's pointed at my right ear. They sound phenomenal otherwise, crossed at 3.15khz, 12db. Spent about 5 hours driving and listening. Will try a lower x-over setting tomorrow. Ran Auto-EQ and T/A, tried with and without EQ, ended up leaving it on, and making small adjustments to the T/A myself.

Shifting the Position selector on the head unit from driver to passenger, would basically mirror the image, wouldn't it? I haven't checked yet, but wouldn't the settings made for passenger position stay in memory separate from the drivers side? So in theory I could set it up for myself, then change position and set it up for passenger and demo for others using that position/setting?

SoundQubed 7k is on sale now as well, if you're looking for inexpensive power. Maybe wire to 2 or 4 ohm depending on coil configuration. As for strapping, I had never done it until a couple of months ago, and the only hassle I had was the extra power/ground and fuseage. Simpler than gain matching two amps, at least. Other than that, +1 to what Julian said.

First post here, joined for some design input
I'm a bit late to the party, but welcome to the forum! Did you end up building the enclosure? Edit, found this follow up: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/70138-custom-box-design-10-sound-qubed-hds210-in-18-cf-34hz-comments-critique-advice-welcome/

Welcome to the forum!- Introduction
Thank you for the reminder! At one point I was thinking just to aim them above and between the seats(just past where the dome light normally is) but I doubt I'd ever be satisfied with that compromise, just to give passengers a slightly better sound.. I'll be making rings and starting that process today, hopefully. I'm quite certain I won't begin the actual fiberglassing for a couple of weeks. :/- Introduction
Picked up a pair of spare A-pillars, going to try my hand at fiberglass(after spending a couple hours watching youtube videos). Ordered a SQ-7k(headroom!) and another XS d3400. Almost ordered 2 more XCons, but I don't have the room for them, especially wanting to keep the style of enclosure I'm using.- SSA Evil 1 (first SSA tweeter)
^ +1 to what Shogen said. I would assume you've not heard SSA equipment used properly, or had a bad experience? First couple of hits on a google search: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/46475-w7-vs-xcon/ http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/28567-12-jl-w7-d3-vs-12ssa-icon-d2/ There's a reason why the Icon and Xcon get consistently compared to a sub over twice the price. What enclosures have you listened to any of the three(W7, Icon, Xcon) in? I'm using a properly designed and tuned tapered transmission line and I'm in love with my two 15" Xcon with ~2500 wrms. Snappy, deep, low, loud, and very well balanced(but power hungry!). Most people familiar with the SSA subs I would assume tend to stick to normal ported enclosures, as the subs are so well rounded you don't gain much more in terms of performance. I've heard a few W7 systems, the last one being 4 10" w7 with ~3600 clean watts in a single cab blowthrough. Sounded wonderful, but I would bet money he would keep 100% of his sound quality and gain loudness and impact by switching to Xcons, while saving money. Maybe I'm biased too. Who knows. Oh, and half the "loudness" would be 10 db.- New looking for ideas

- I know I have a car audio addiction when......
When you're supposed to be shopping for another car, but you notice that the SQ 7k amp and IA DP's are on sale, telling yourself you can wait til next year for another vehicle... When you ask your neighbor to hang out and wait for packages(and deliver them to the garage!) because you take your wife or girlfriend out to eat so she doesn't see what you ordered.. When your co-workers come check out your new setup and the following conversation happens: "Damn that's nice. How much do you want for it all?" "I just got all this, why would I sell it?" "Because you had your last setup for less than three months and you'll be upgrading again in three months!"- A few of my pics
Amazing pictures. I've been toying with the idea of picking up a good camera for some time now, you may have pushed me over the edge.- Dcon/Gcon not in-stock
That's good to hear. I have three 12" S4 if you're interested.. Though, I was thinking about either using them for home theater or putting two SQ 1200's strapped on them, to see what they're capable of.. lol
